    The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin has been granted bail after he turned himself in to the Lagos State Police Command over a viral video that showed him holding a g*n-like object when a content creator approached his vehicle.

    After he was interrogated, the Lagos State Police Command disclosed that the object recovered from him was a stun gun, a non-lethal but prohibited anti-riot device. Investigation is still ongoing

    The state police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, added that  the object resembling a gun that Adefarasin was seen holding in a viral video is not a lethal weapon or firearm, but a stun gun, which is classified as prohibited anti-riot equipment.

    Hundeyin added that the cleric has been granted administrative bail while the investigation continues.

    The statement reads, “Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who turned himself in today at the Lagos State Police Command over a viral video where he was seen holding a gun-like object against another road user, was interrogated and he volunteered cautionary statement to the police investigators.

    “What was recovered from him, the gun-like object seen in the viral video, is not a lethal weapon or firearm but a stun gun which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment.

    “The pastor has been granted bail while investigations continue into the case.”

    Doctor who performed BBL surgery that led to death of Lagos big girl, arrested

    The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a medical doctor identified as Idara Bassey over the death of a 36-year-old woman simply identified as Abiola, who died during a butt enlargement surgery.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the spokesman of Lagos Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.

    Bassey’s arrest is coming days after the security operatives declared the doctor wanted.

    Hundeyin further disclosed that the doctor is being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba.

    TNG had earlier reported that Abiola had, on August 26, left her home in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki area of the state, to the clinic for the operation, but unfortunately, had tragically died after a nurse at the clinic administered an injection to her.

    Her driver subsequently reported the incident at the Maroko Police Division, but the doctor fled.

    Popular Lagos big girl dies during butt enlargement surgery

    A Lagos big girl simply identified as Abiola, 36, has reportedly died while undergoing a buttocks enlargement procedure at a clinic in the Lekki-Phase 1 area of Lagos State.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) learnt that the incident occurred around 3pm on Monday.

    According to a police source, who pleaded anonymity, Abiola had left her home in Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ibeju Lekki area of the state, and instructed her driver to take her to the clinic for the operation.

    Upon her arrival at the clinic, a nurse was instructed by the clinic owner to administer an injection to the young woman.

    Shortly after receiving the injection, the woman reportedly lost consciousness and began gasping for breath. The deceased was rushed to a hospital in Lekki Phase 1, to prevent further complications, where she was confirmed dead.

    Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, noted that the nurse was arrested after the Maroko Police Division received a report on Tuesday from the driver of the deceased whose name was not disclosed.

    Hundeyin said, “On arrival, the owner of the clinic (not mentioned), instructed a nurse to inject the now-deceased lady, who later became unconscious and started gasping for breath. The victim was rescued and rushed to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 for treatment, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. Based on the report, the scene was visited by a team of detectives.

    The hospital was also visited, where the corpse was inspected and photographed before it was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy.’’

    Police arrest Yoruba Nation agitators in Lagos

    Some Yoruba Nation agitators planning to protest in the Alausa area of Lagos state have been arrested by the  state police command.

    Their arrest was disclosed by the Lagos command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin via his verified Twitter handle.

    He said, “Earlier today, a number of Yoruba Nation agitators commenced setting up camp at Alausa planned to be used as base to launch a massive protest.

    “Camp was promptly dislodged while agitators were arrested. Investigation continues at State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID),” he said.

    According to him, lawlessness will not be tolerated in the state.

    “Protests that started with this format, in Lagos, always snowballed into infringement of the rights of others, destruction of property and difficult-to-manage situations.

    “At Lagos State Police Command, we put crime statistics to use,” Hundeyin said.

    He said section 4 of the Police Act 2020 stated that the police shall maintain public safety, law and order and also protect the lives and property of all persons in Nigeria.

    The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has revealed how a bank cashier saved a 64-year-old customer from withdrawing N600,000 which she intended to hand over to fraudsters over fear of death.

    Narrating the incident, SP Hundeyin said, “Yesterday at about 1550hrs, a bank cashier noticed that a 64-year-old customer was fidgety, receiving repeated calls and was in a hurry to withdraw N600,000. The cashier asked what the problem was and the woman said she would die if she talked.

    “Police officers from Ogudu Division were quickly contacted. Of the three fraudsters waiting outside, Uche Awaize ‘m’ aged 45 and Osadebe Aigbe ‘m’ aged 35 were arrested. The third suspect bolted.

    “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects had first collected N90,000 from the woman. Effort is on to arrest the other gang member.

    “PS: Let’s leave their faces open this time so that previous victims can identify & testify against them, and maybe recover their money”

    One Egboka Victory explained that his elder sister believed the same when she encountered the same scam in 2017.

    “She had returned home in the night after giving them over 200k she picked from mom’s home safe, and right there in our living room still saying, “if I talk, I will die,” he said.

    According to one Whitneywhite, “That’s how I was scammed last month too with a sum of 49k, it was phone hypnotism and I paid into access bank of Tunde alabi too…it was supposed to be 49k and 50k but was called before I made the second transaction,I think it was a planned work…this is terrifyingly real.”

    A Nurse, simply identified as methyldopa, applauded the efforts of the police.

    In her words: “You have done well ✌?good job your swift response is applauded, but please don’t blur or cover anybody’s pics henceforth this is the first time you are showing the faces of suspects and names, endeavor to show faces of people from other tribe cos we need a safe and peaceful lagos.”

    Sharing her encounter, Felicity Borle said, “Similar thing happened to me few years back. To the extent I even travelled To Abia state where I haven’t been before to withdraw the last 120 k for dem?‍♀️?‍♀️ . Total money they took from me was 635k . That was the worst experience ever.”

    Police arrest highway robber on Otedola bridge in Lagos

    A highway robber has been apprehended by operatives of the Nigerian Police on Wednesday in Lagos.

    This piece of information was made known by the  Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin via his Twitter page on Wednesday.

    According to him, the robber was arrested at Otedola bridge in the early hours of Wednesday.

    The Lagos police spokesperson on his Twitter page added that the thief was arrested and dangerous items were recovered from him, including a locally fabricated toy guy.

    SP Hundeyin added that the robber is being interrogated at the moment.

    His tweet reads, “Officers of the Alausa Police Division at 2am today arrested a traffic robber who had in his possession a locally fabricated toy gun and other dangerous items, on Otedola bridge, shortly after robbing a motorist of his valuables.

    “Investigation is ongoing.”

    In the picture of the thief posted by Hundeyin, hand gloves, screwdrivers and a lighter could be seen as the suspect knelt down in the Lagos police custody.

    The Lagos state police command has arrested one Emmanuel Sunday for traffic robbery in Ketu, Kosofe Local Government Area.

    Emmanuel Sunday said to be an ex-convict has been terrorizing motorists and commuters at the Ketu-Ikosi Kosofe axis.

    The Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin  confirmed his arrest  via a statement signed and released by him on Thursday in Lagos.

    Sunday, notorious for dispossessing motorists of their belongings, was apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

    He was caught when RRS officials working undercover spotted him while trying to dispossess a motorist of his phone at Ojota Underbridge.

    Hundeyin said that the culprit confessed to being imprisoned for similar offence in Lagos.

    He was nabbed by the Alapere Police Division earlier in the year for stealing, and was sentenced to a three-month jail term in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

    Sunday’s arrest followed the deployment of undercover officers to comb areas with incidences of traffic robbery, Hundeyin added.

    Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi has directed increased patrol to fish out other traffic robbers in Lagos.

    In a post on Twitter on Friday, by the Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the “Oleku” singer was stopped for driving without license plates at 3 am, Friday.

     

    “He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today,” Hundeyin stated.

    Man dies in Lagos hotel room after checking in with online lover

    A Lagos-based man, Abdulwaheed Lamidi, has given up the ghost while cooling off with his online lover at City international motel in the Ikotun area of Lagos.

    It was gathered that the two lovers met online and arrange to meet physically in Lagos where Lamidi was based.

    The lady whose identity has not been given traveled from her state to meet Lamidi at the motel in Lagos.

    Findings show that the two love birds passed the night together at the motel but the unexpected happened in the morning.

    An eyewitness said the lady suddenly cried out to seek help in the early hours of Sunday morning

    He added that when some motel workers rushed into the room, they found Lamidi lying motionless on the ground.

    “The girl said the man wanted to enter the toilet but slumped and fell on the ground. A doctor that works in a hospital close to the motel was called and when the doctor got to the room, he certified the man dead.

    “The girl said she came to Lagos to meet the man as he promised to marry her; she came with some property and had the intention of moving into his house to be his live-in lover. Instead of going to the man’s house, they went to the hotel and they were in the room when the girl ran out to call for help because the man slumped.

    “So, when people rushed into the room, they found him lying unconscious on the ground. The incident happened around 8.40 am on Sunday but the girl arrived from another state on Saturday. The girl said she met the man online and that they had been chatting,” the source added.

    However, the lady has been arrested by the police for interrogation whilst the corpse was taken to a mortuary in Lagos.

    Meanwhile, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed the incident, saying that the suspect doesn’t want her parent involved in the investigation.

    He said, “We have contacted the deceased’s family and they have shown up. They are applying to just get their corpse. They said they were not interested in any criminal investigation but the command is still considering their application through its legal department.

    One Million Boys: Police speaks on arresting singer Portable

    Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable will be arrested after an investigation is fully launched and competed against him over the One Million Boys comment he made a few days on goal on social media.

    The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this in an interview he granted to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.

    Hundeyin stated that the command had yet to conclude a preliminary investigation on the matter, adding that the singer has a case to answer when the investigation is concluded.

    Recall that the vociferous musician had in a now-deleted video, which went viral on Monday, boasted of forming One Million Boys and another notorious group known as Ajah Boys.

    Following the development, the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered Portable’s probe over his alleged ties to the notorious gang terrorizing Lagos and parts of Ogun State.

    In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Baba directed the Lagos Police Command to probe the singer over his ties to the cult groups.

    “Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorizing some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.

    “This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society,” the statement read.

    The singer however retracted his statement hours later, saying that he was referring to his fans as One Million Boys.
