    My husband’s death is natural, not of COVID-19, late Lanre Razak wife cries out

    Mrs Jumoke Razak, the wife of late APC chieftain, Lanre Razak, says her husband did not die of COVID-19 pandemic.

    Razak told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Epe, that her husband’s death was natural as he had been sick for some time.

    She said the way her husband died showed that it was time for him to answer the call of his creator.

    “Although, my husband was sick but he was responding to treatment and looking healthy to recover, but suddenly, death caught up with him.

    “I received a call from the hospital where my husband was treated that he gave up on Aug. 15.

    “From God, we come and to Him, we shall all return. God, knows best,’’ she told NAN.

    The widow disclosed that her husband was on admission at Reddington hospital in Lagos and that he was not isolated.

    “He was receiving treatment as a normal sick patient and not as COVID-19 patient.

    “The public should desist from spreading the rumour of whether my husband died of COVID-19 or not.

    “I am saying emphatically that my husband, Lanre Razak, did not die of COVID-19.

    “Anybody can be sick and be treated fine while some will be sick and pass to eternity.

    “Therefore, it is God’s time that He took my husband.

    “May Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljanat Firdaus,’’ she prayed.

    NAN reports that the APC Chieftain dead on Aug. 15 and was buried same day according to Islamic rites.

    Tinubu mourns Lagos APC chieftain, Lanre Razak

    Sen. Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, has described the death of Chief Lanre Razak, a member of Lagos Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), as a big loss to the state.

    Tinubu’s condolence was issued by his Media Aide, Mr. Tunde Rahman, on Saturday in Lagos.

    Razak, a businessman and the Balogun of Epe, died after a brief illness on Saturday at Reddington Hospital, Lagos, at the age of 74.

    Tinubu also commiserated with Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the government and people of the state, particularly the entire people of Epe on the loss of an illustrious son.

    According to the former governor of Lagos State, the late businessman was a grassroots politician, a well-known ally, and a defender of the progressive cause.

    “He was a loyal and energetic party man who did a lot for APC, Lagos State, and his Epe hometown.

    “He contributed his quota to the development of the people and betterment of society.

    “Chief Rasaq had had his hand on the plough and never to look back.

    “His death is a big loss to Lagos and Epe town.

    “Lagos APC and members of the progressive family across the country will deeply miss him,” he said

    Tinubu extended his condolences to the deceased’s wife, children and the entire Rasaq family.

    He prayed Almighty Allah to give them the strength to live after their father and patriarch.

    “May Almighty Allah forgive the late politician of his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljanna Fridaus Amin,” he said.

    Sanwo-Olu-Olu mourns Lanre Razaq

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed sadness over the death of a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Lanre Razak, who passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 74.

    Sanwo-Olu, who described late Razak’s death as a rude shock, said the deceased was a great politician, a strong party man and an advocate of masses oriented programmes.

    Chief Razak, the Balogun of Epe, died on Saturday at Reddington Hospital, Lagos after a brief illness.

    Sanwo-Olu in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Gboyega Akosile, said the deceased, during his lifetime stood for what was right, always championing policies that would impact positively on the lives of the poor masses.

    Sanwo-Olu added that the late Razak, popularly called KLM did not hide his love and support of his administration especially the Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda.

    He said: “I am saddened by the death of one of our political leaders in Lagos APC, Chief Lanre Razak. He was a loyal party man and committed democrat, with a deep understanding of the state’s political landscape. He was an extremely loyal politician, who did his best for our party, the All Progressives Congress.

    “Chief Razak served his people and Lagos State passionately as Chairman of Epe Local Government Area and Commissioner of Public Transportation. He brought a lot of development to Epe as a council boss and also made a lot of positive contributions to turn around public transportation in Lagos during his tenure as member of the State Executive Council.

    “Chief Razak was a great politician, a strong party man and an advocate of masses oriented programmes. His support for our T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda was exemplary. He always propelled us to do more for the people of Lagos State.

    “There is no doubting the fact that he would be missed by the entire political class, particularly the people of Epe, the Lagos East Senatorial District and the State as a whole.”

    The Governor also condoled with the immediate family of the departed, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; other GAC members, Lagos APC and the entire people of Epe, praying God to grant the soul of the beloved Chief Razak eternal rest in Aljannah firdaus.
