Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Antony were all guilty of losing their composure during the game.

But Fernandes appeared to be the worst of all as the Portugal international spent most of the second half making petulant challenges, arguing with officials and losing possession.

“Bruno Fernandes stood in the centre circle with his arms raised asking: ‘Why is it me not coming off?” said Neville on Sky Sports.

“Honestly, I have to say some of his behaviour in the second half has been a disgrace.”

“You put Van Dijk in that team, Jota on the bench along with Diaz potentially coming back, Firmino as well then it’s a completely different story.

“All of a sudden when you look at that league table it doesn’t look like they’re out of that reckoning for the top four.

“The reality is they will come again this season and will go on a run if they can the players into the team,” Neville said.

Liverpool still have 17 games to secure a top 4 finish this season.

The Reds have practically struggled this current season and presently occupy the 9th position on the English Premier League Log.
