Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel has said speaking against men of God can attract leprosy and that many critics of his ministry have been victims of the warning.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Bishop Oyedepo made this known during the Leadership Empowerment Summit at the church’s headquarters, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

Oyedepo, who said there was no data to back his claim, however, warned Christians to deviate from criticizing their prophets, saying such attitude attracts dangerous punishment from God.

He said: “Beware of speaking hurt against the Ministry you claim to be part of advancing, it’s a risk.

“Beware of speaking hurt against a Prophet you claim to believe. It is dangerous. It can make a man leprous. It is dangerous. We don’t have the data of how many victims may have come from this warning, but I know quite some would have been victims.

“One of the Leaders in this Nation said, “what we are saying now, Bishop is in his room. he is hearing.” When we give warnings, we give it based on prophetic insights.”

The African richest pastor, however, admitted that criticism is part of what prophets of God must endure, saying it is not a problem.

“Every prophet is ordained to be spoken against. So it is not a problem. It is already written. It is not that it is something that is new,” he said.

According to reports the kidnapers invaded the church when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend.

It was gathered that the kidnappers shot sporadically into the air to scare away residents and security personnel while whisking the victims into the forest.

The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the abduction of three members of the church, through his special adviser on media and publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

He said the council chairman had visited the scene in company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division, adding that the council was working in synergy with security agents to see how the victims will be rescued.

“Even before now, we had a series of meetings with the people of Osara Community and entire farm center.

CAMA law: Buhari’s aide drops bombshell allegation against Oyedepo’s church

Lauretta Onochie, a media aide of President Muhammadu Buhari has again called out the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo over the Company and Allied Matters Acts (CAMA).

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Onochie on Monday via her official Twitter handle dropped a bombshell allegation against Bishop Oyedepo’s church and Nicholas Mutu, House Committee Chair on Oil and Gas.

The Buhari’s aide, while stressing that “there is a difference between control and regulation” and that “CAMA aims at regulation”, alleged in her tweet that the House Committee Chair on Oil and Gas paid N20 million in a day to Oyedepo’s church.

“Theres a difference between CONTROL & REGULATION

CAMA aims at REGULATION. Where Nicholas Mutu, House Committee Chair on Oil & Gas, regularly received money from @NDDCOnline & also paid ₦20m in a day to Mr Oyedepo’s church, Nigerians want the regulation in place,” Onochie tweeted.

Recall that Onochie had earlier openly criticized Oyedepo for rejecting the CAMA law, saying it is irrational to subject churches to the same laws as companies.

Under CAMA, signed into law on August 7, religious bodies and charity organisations will be strictly regulated by the registrar-general of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and a supervising minister.

But Oyedepo said the law was borne out of the government’s jealousy about the prosperity recorded by the church.

Reacting in a tweet, Ononchie said Oyedepo would have to abide by the government’s law as long as he dwells in the country.

“I hope this is not true. If it is, Oyedepo will have to manufacture his own country and live by his own laws.

“As long as he lives and operates within the entity called Nigeria, he will live by Nigerian rules and laws. He will do as he’s told by the law. Enough of lawlessness,” she stated.

He said the security sub-committee of the task force on COVID-19, unsealed two churches earlier shutdown for violating safety measures on the pandemic.
