Peter Obi is more of chronic cancer to PDP – Fayose

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is more of chronic cancer to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the 2023 election.

He disclosed this while speaking with Channels TV on Thursday night.

He said, “Obi is a danger to watch out for. I don’t believe Obi will make 25 percent of votes in two-thirds of the States of the federation.

“I’m not against Obi. I love him and he is a very vibrant leader. I don’t believe he will get the required 25 percent of votes because of my permutation as Ayodele Fayose, but with God, nothing shall be impossible.

“Let me say Obi is more of chronic cancer to PDP and there is no denying it.

“Let me give you an analysis. In the South-West, people might not like to hear that, I don’t see how PDP will win.”

In May, the former Anambra State governor had dumped PDP and joined LP in pursuit of his presidential ambition.

Peter Obi importing unemployment to Nigeria, says Oshiomhole

Former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has accused Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, Peter Obi of importing employment to Nigeria through his business venture

Oshiomhole noted that Obi is contributing to the high unemployment rate in Nigeria.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Edo North, made the assertion during the flag-off of his campaign in the Auchi area of the State over the weekend.

“Obi owns the biggest shopping mall in Abuja and all the items sold there are imported.

“If he is selling imported wines, clothes, and other items, he is contributing to why Nigeria is going down because he is creating jobs abroad and importing unemployment to Nigeria,” Oshiomhole said.

Statistics have shown that Nigeria’s unemployment rate stood at 33 percent as of the last quarter of 2020.

  • I will rebuild Nigeria – Peter Obi

I will rebuild Nigeria – Peter Obi

Business activities and vehicular movements were halted on Friday in Benin, following the huge crowd that thronged the various streets to welcome the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi.

Addressing party supporters at the Baptist Convention Ground, the venue of Labour Party’s Presidential rally, Obi promised to rebuild the country if elected.

He assured the people, particularly youths and women, of his commitment towards securing the nation for the overall interest of the people.

Obi further assured that if elected President of Nigeria, the people would no longer go to bed hungry.

“We will stop people from looting the nation’s treasury.

“Is about you (referring to the youths), with you, we will take back this country.

“Labour Party will stop nepotism, that is my commitment,”  Obi said

Earlier, the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, told  Obi that his reputation preceded him.

The Oba made the remark when he received the LP presidential candidate and his running mate, Yusuf Datti, in his palace in Benin

Obi, who got barrage of questions from the ruler, said he read that a parcel of land was given to him and he turned the offer down and that he should confirm if that information was true.

Ewuare further told him that there were a lot of temptations in office and asked if he could resist them and remain clean?

The ruler further said that there had been a lot of arguments about his popularity.

He said it was believed that Obi was only popular on the social media, while some said otherwise, adding that he had tried to find out from both the old and the young and that what he saw was quite amazing.

The traditional ruler maintained that the Benin throne, right from time immemorial, had remained apolitical as he was the father to all.

He said the throne was interested in the one who had the interest of Nigerians at heart, one who could make life meaningful for all.

Responding to the Oba’s questions, Obi said it was true that he actually returned the land given to him.

On the question of resisting temptations that are associated with the office, Obi said he and his running mate would do all in their powers to resist and fight corruption in the country.

Earlier, Obi said he was in his palace with his team to seek for his blessings as he embarked on his campaign.

He said the forthcoming elections should not be based on religion and ethnic sentiments, but on competency and one who could deliver to Nigerians the dividends of democracy.

Obi assured that if elected,  his government would leverage on the country’s population and vast lands to boost the nation’s Gross Domestic Product and make life better for Nigerians.

  • Tinubu must come clean or quit, says Obi-Datti Media Office

Tinubu must come clean or quit, says Obi-Datti Media Office

The Obi- Datti Media Office has come to the inescapable conclusion that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC presidential bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu must come clean with his past, engage Nigerians or quit because the office he seeks to occupy requires a man who should be clean in all ramifications.

The demand is in response to the damaging document released by a United States court about Tinubu’s past which entails that he must come clean and stop indulging in proxy game about his past, ostensibly to deny Nigerians the opportunity of knowing exactly the person aspiring to rule them.

What has made the Obi-Datti Media Office more curious is the continued refusal of the APC candidate to present himself for scrutiny by Nigerians, dodging every public and media interaction and using spokespersons and attack dogs to reach Nigerians and cover up his dirty tracks.

“Rather than be ashamed of the embarrassing situation, Tinubu Campaign office is arrogantly and fraudulently covering up and scheming to pick and chose the public events to attend.

“It’s not enough to release a document as manifesto but not be available to defend and explain how you intend to carry out the implementations of the manifesto since spokespersons are not going to be on the ballot.

“If Tinubu truly had any record of narcotics and money laundering case arising from drug related businesses at any stage in his life, he must explain himself to Nigerians.

“And if he hid his past to Nigerians and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, necessary steps should be taken by relevant authorities to save the country from such a person having access to power at the highest office in the land.

Obi-Datti Media office is aware that there is a column in INEC form to candidates seeking to know if they had ever been convicted by any court of law anywhere in the world and that withholding such information breaches the
    2022 Electoral Act (as amended).

In view of the fresh facts arising from the US court document, Nigerians expect the Electoral Commission to demand a convincing response from the APC presidential candidate and to act on it accordingly without let or hindrance

“Following the successive failure of governance in our country over time, the Electoral Commission and indeed the entire Nigerian populace should show more than passing interest in the backgrounds of all those aspiring to rule this country.

“It’s against this backdrop that we totally align our position with that of our Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi that candidacy by proxy must be rejected since the buck stops on the table of the person being elected not spokespersons or attack dogs”.

Finally, the Obi-Datti Media Office demands that if the APC candidate is not ready and willing to subject himself to the scrutiny required of anybody seeking to occupy the number one job in the land, he should quit.
