    Real Madrid’s veteran midfielder Luka Modric announced on Thursday that he will leave the club following the upcoming Club World Cup this summer.

    “Every journey has a beginning and an end… This Saturday will be my final match at the Santiago Bernabéu,” the 39-year-old wrote on Instagram, as his contract with the Spanish club nears its conclusion.

    “I leave with my heart full—grateful, proud, and carrying countless unforgettable memories,” he said.

    “Though I won’t wear the Real Madrid jersey on the field after the Club World Cup, I will remain a Madridista for life.”

    Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has explained that he would miss teammate Toni Kroos after the Los Blancos confirmed the German’s exit from Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

    Kroos will officially leave the Club after the completion of Euro 2024 in July.

    Reacting, Modric, in a lengthy post on Instagram, expressed sadness at the news. He also described the former Bayern Munich star as a legend.

    “Having a hard time writing these words,” Modric wrote.

    “The football world is sad because a historic footballer is leaving, and I admit, I am also very sad. Man, you are a legend of this sport and a legend of Real Madrid.

    “I really enjoyed playing by your side. It’s truly been an honour to share Real Madrid’s centre field with you. You have qualities that make you a unique and special footballer, and there will never be another Toni Kroos. Unforgettable European nights, titles, the magic of the Bernabéu—we will never forget this golden time in the club of our lives. You achieved everything but we still have one left; let’s go for the 15th. I’ll miss you, my friend.”

    Croatian Midfielder, Luka Modric, has boasted that the UEFA Champions is Real Madrid’s competition.

    The Los Blancos Midfielder, made this known during a pre-match press conference of the second semi-final battle between Manchester City and Real Madrid coming up later tonight at the Etihad.

    Manchester City forced Real Madrid to a draw at the Bernabeau last week Tuesday with Vini Junior and Kelvin De Bruyne scoring for their teams.

    “The sensations are very good. We have to enjoy this game to the fullest. What we are achieving is something big, and we have to enjoy this moment,” the Croatia international told the press.

    “It is just that we have played these games many times. And I see in my mates, tranquillity. Playing the final would be impressive.

    “It is a huge game… and we feel comfortable. We like the Champions League, because it is our tournament. The feeling is of comfort and that is why we have won so many times. Because self-confidence is enormous. What we believe in is our quality. We will give 100%.”
