Liverpool better fit for Grealish than Man City – Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand thinks Jack Grealish would suit Liverpool better than Manchester City.

The Aston Villa star is being heavily chased by City, who have recently opened talks over a transfer.

But Manchester United legend Ferdinand thinks Grealish would be perfect

“I would love him to join Manchester United, obviously. But I just feel that the position that he plays is stacked,” he told his FIVE Youtube channel.

“Bruno [Fernandes] in a ten, [Marcus] Rashford’s on the left, [Anthony] Martial is there, [Paul] Pogba is there.

“It kind of rules Manchester United out unless they say, “no, we’re going to shift a player or two to get him.

He added: “There aren’t many breathtaking footballers around anymore who produce breathtaking moments and make you go, ‘wow that was crazy’.

“Jack Grealish does that. He’s just a phenomenal player. If I’m Liverpool, I’m going to get him. If I’m Man City, I’m taking him.

“Because he improves them. He improves Chelsea, 100 per cent. Whoever’s got the money to pay for him, do it.

“If Liverpool bought him it would be a bolt out of the blue. He improves them and then it’s like, ‘wow’.”

Transfer: Jack Grealish accepts Man City contract offer

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has reportedly accepted a contract offer from Manchester City.

Football Insider says City have offered Grealish a ‘huge’ deal, which the Aston Villa captain has accepted.

Although the agreeing of terms is a ‘significant hurdle’ to overcome, the £90m bid that the Citizens are set to send to Villa Park will be the real sticking point of the situation.

Dean Smith’s acquisition of Emiliano Buendia would help fill the creative void if their talisman departs, while they are also reportedly interested in signing Bayern Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

Grealish is currently enjoying his holidays after the Euro 2020 tournament.

“I wouldn’t say he’s the worst I’ve had, but tactically he isn’t that great. What he did was good, which hurts to say.

“Not only was my family cheering for England, they were cheering that Mancini was losing, so it hurt us even more. I never really got him as a manager.

“I fell out with him. I was there for a few months and we got on well but I didn’t enjoy training at all.
