    Man in court for allegedly having sex with pig

    A 22-year-old man, Ayokunbi Olaniyi, on Tuesday appeared in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly having sex with a pig.

    The police charged Olaniyi, who resides in Eleti – Odo area, Iwo Road, Ibadan , with one count of unnatural offence.

    The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Opeyemi Olagunju, told the court that on April 2, at about 4 p.m. at Elewi – Odo , Ibadan , the defendant allegedly had sex with a pig against order of nature.

    He alleged that the defendant worked for Mrs Adenike Taiwo’s pig farm in Elewi – Odo area, Ibadan.

    He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 214 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 38, Vol. II , Laws of Oyo State 2000.

    The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence.

    The Defence Counsel, Mr Mumin Jimoh, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

    Jimoh said the owner of the pig has forgiven the defendant.

    Chief Magistrate Olaide Amzat said:” if the owner has forgiven the defendant, has God forgiven him or the pig forgiven him?”

    “The law must take its cause”.

    Amzat admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

    He adjourned the matter untill July 21, for hearing.

    Tragedy as man ‘kills’ wife, self in Lagos

    The police in Lagos have begun investigation into the alleged murder of a woman by her husband, Femi, who also allegedly killed himself.

     

    The event occurred at their Victory Park Estate, Lekki residence where the couple and their young children moved into about three weeks ago.

     

    It was gathered that the man allegedly bound his wife, sealed her mouth, shaved her hair and stabbed multiple times with different knives on the head and eyes.

     

     

    He thereafter, ingested poisonous substances suspected to be pesticides.

     

    Confirming the incident to newsmen, police spokesman Bala Elkana said homicide detectives have sealed up the place.

     

    He said: “They have commenced investigation. The corpse of the man and the woman have been moved to the hospital for an autopsy.

     

    “Two kitchen knives were found there and two bottles of insecticides. The woman had injuries from stabbing while foams were coming out of the man’s mouth who is suspected to have drank the insecticides.

     

    “That is the much I can tell you for now. I am in a meeting but will issue a statement after the meeting.”

     

     

     

    According to preliminary reports, the couple was spotted jogging on Saturday night.

     

    They were alleged to have had disagreements over the paternity of their youngest child.

     

    Neighbours were said to have heard loud music from their apartment which lasted several hours prompted some of them to report noise pollution at the estate office.

     

    The distressed neighbours were said to have demanded that the estate managers caution the couple which they agreed to.

     

    On arrival at the apartment, the officials were said to have met the woman’s sister and her kids downstairs and explained their mission. She was said to have immediately gone upstairs to tell her sister but several knocks on the door were not responded to.

     

    After her failed attempt, the estate officials decided to pull down the door and that was how they saw their bodies.

    Man clubs two children to death with pestle

    A 34-year old man Ifeanyi Apusiobi on Sunday supposedly killed two of his children in Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

     

    The suspect reportedly attacked his victims, Chinecherem and Obinna, with a pestle while they were sleeping.

     

    The suspect also injured his 72-year old father, Dominic, in the head with the same object.

     

     

    Police spokesman Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident, saying the suspect has been arrested.

     

    He said the situations surrounding the incident were yet to be ascertained.

     

    Detectives who visited the scene reportedly rushed the three victims to hospital where the two children were confirmed dead, while the 72-year-old was responding to treatment.

    A 32 year old driver, Mayowa Adeyemo has been remanded in Ilesha Correctional Centre for supposedly battering his 18-month-old son with burning cigarettes.

     

    Adeyemo was arraigned before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court Osogbo on Tuesday on two counts bothering on assault and exploitation.

    Police prosecutor Abiodun Fagboyinbo told the court that the defendant beat the child with a stick and burned him with a cigarette.

     

    Adeyemo, who did not have legal representation, said, “I have five children from five different mothers. Several pastors I consulted told me that my mother was the one bewitching me. I am a taxi driver but things have not been fine for me. The son I assaulted with sticks is the son that my fourth wife bore for me.”

     

    Chief Magistrate Modupe Awodele remanded Adeyemo in Ilesha Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to July 14.

     

     

  • Nigerian man recounts how he molested a 12-year old girl [VIDEO]

    A Nigerian man has narrated how he sexually molested a 12-year-old girl who was a regular customer at his shop.

     

    According to the man, the young girl always turned him on whenever she visits his shop. He said at first, he tried to resist the temptation but later on, he gave in and assaulted her.

     

    While narrating the story to his friends, they accused him of ‘raping’ the minor, but he denied the claim, insisting that it is ‘sexual abuse’ and not ‘rape’, because the girl didn’t scream while he was doing it.

     

    His friends also warned him about the police arresting him for his action and he replied – “Who go arrest me?”.

    Sad! Man slums at ATM gallery in Delta

    A 60-year-old man, on Wednesday, collapsed while waiting in a queue to withdraw money at an Automated Teller Machine gallery in Asaba, Delta State.

     

    The occurrence, which happened around 11.30am at the ATM gallery of a first generation bank on the Nnebisi Road, created panic among bank customers in the queue.

     

     

     

    Many of the bank customers ran away because of the fear of the COVID-19 pandemic.

     

    However, some of the customers summoned courage and assisted in revitalizing the frail man.

     

     

    The man, who refused to mention his name, told sympathisers that he was sick and had just returned from hospital.

     

    He said, “I am not feeling too well. I am just coming back from hospital and decided to stop over to use the ATM to withdraw some money.

     

    “The queue is too long and I have been in it since morning and I’m diabetic. I live in Ibusa with my family. I came to Asaba for treatment.”

    Man arrested for assaulting four-year-old in Lagos

    Police in Lagos have arrested a barber for brutalizing his four-year-old son, leaving him with several bodily scars.

     

    Tunde Alabi was accused of beating his son, Ezekiel to a coma on Sunday.

     

    The four-year-old boy was said to have excreted on his body and Alabi beat him severely, inflicting multiple injuries on him.

    The Igando Divisional Police Officer, Taiwo Kasumu, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) confirmed Alabi’s arrest.

     

    He said: “We have arrested him and the child is with us. Though the child can’t be with us; I have contacted the Lagos State Child Protection Unit for further action.”

     

    Residents of 5 Afam Ani Street, Igando where the man lives, said the boy was always being maltreated by his father and stepmother.

     

    One of them said Ezekiel was recently brought back from his mother, who also reportedly suffered domestic violence before leaving Alabi’s home.

     

    “Tunde married another wife and the woman always beat Ezekiel at every little provocation; nobody in the neighbourhood could stop Tunde from beating the boy because of his unruly behaviour.

    A middle-aged man identified simply as Chukwudi has reportedly died after he was electrocuted.

    The incident was said to have occurred at Opobo road of the Ogbor Hills axis of the commercial nerve of Abia state.

    It was gathered that the deceased whose traditional marriage was some weeks ahead after discovering that there was light in his neighbourhood while there was no electricity supply in his apartment started looking for a ladder to apparently switch to the next active line.

    Reports have it that while he was on the electric pole trying to rectify the problem, electricity was restored back on the former line.

    “While on top of the pole, he was said to have rested his ladder on an electric-powered barbwire which triggered electric shock when the public power was restored.

    “He was trapped between the pole and the electrified barbwire, making it difficult for him to escape or even for people to come to his immediate rescue and by the time he was eventually brought down, he was dead,” a source narrated.

    Edo 2020: No man can stop me from returning as governor, Obaseki boasts

    Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Wednesday said no man can stop him from being governor for a second term in the state.

    Obaseki is having a running battle with his godfather and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

    Oshiomhole’s faction of the party, had on Tuesday night endorsed the candidacy of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the consensus candidate of the party for the Edo poll.

    But Obaseki, in an interview on Channels TV, said he was confident of returning to power as first man of the state because “power comes from God.”

    The governor said he is a man of peace and not a violent person.

    “I am not a violent person. But I am confident that the way I got into power is the same way I will return.

    “God gave me power. If he wants me to return I will continue. No man can stop me. Power comes from God,” he said.

    He said he had always canvassed for peace and believed election should not lead to bloodshed.

    On the rift within his party, Obaseki said that he was not distracted, adding that his focus was on developing Edo State.

    “We have always canvassed for peace. What are the issues in Edo and what are the issues that cannot be resolved in a democracy. Our concern is to use the resources of the people to develop the state.

    “This shouldn’t lead to bloodshed. We will not accept to be cowed and intimidated because some people think that they can manipulate rules and cut corners,” he stated.

    When asked if it’s not the resources of the people of Edo State that was used for him to become the governor, Obaseki said, “I have friends with resources. I worked for eight years behind the scene before I became governor.

    “So all that insinuations about using somebody’s resources…I became Governor on the platform of the party and I am grateful for it.”

    A 48-year-old man, Femi Onifade, has been detained in Ondo State for defiling his two daughters aged six and nine.

    It was gathered that the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi Odundun II handed Onifade over to officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

    Sources said the suspect fled to the Deji’s palace to avoid being lynched after his escapades were exposed.

    NSCDC’s spokesman Olufemi Omole said the defilement occurred at No 27 Liberty Hospital Road, Oluwatuyi, Akure.

    Omole said the suspect initially denied the allegations but later owned up, adding that he capitalised on his wife’s absence over long-term disagreement to molest the two minors.

    According to him, the suspect “bought a bottle of soft drink, mixed a powdery substance with it and gave the girls to drink, and thereafter started caressing them.

    “Medical examination from Federal Medical Centre Annex in Akure revealed that both kids have lost their hymen.

    “The state government has shown interest in this case and the welfare of the children has been fully guaranteed”

    He said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
