Nottingham’s prolific scorer, Taiwo Awoniyi scored in the 4th minute to put his side 1-0 up before Willy Boly added to the tally to put the visitors on course for victory at Old Trafford but Manchester United came back to win 3-2 courtesy of goals from Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.

Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly had stunned United and given Steve Cooper’s side an excellent opportunity to claim their first away win in the Premier League since January but Christian Eriksen pulled one back in the 17th minute  and the Reds Devil scored two more in the second half to deny Nottingham an away win in eight months.

Casemiro levelled scores in the 52nd minute of the encounter, before Captain Bruno Fernandes, scored the winner from the spot, after Marcus Rashford was fouled by Danilo.

However, Arsenal and visiting Fulham shared the spoils after a very thrilling encounter at the Emirate.

Arsenal were already coasting home to victory but a late equalizer from 10 man Fulham ended the Gunners 100 percent winning streak.

The away team scored the first goal right from the kick-off through Andreas Pereira’s goal but Arsenal came back in the second half, scoring two goals back to back from Bukayo Saka’s penalty and Eddie Nketiah’s goal.

Nigeria international, Calvin Bassey was dismissed for a bad challenge on Nketiah.

The Gunners could not maintain the tempo even with a man advantage, they conceded again in the 87th minute of the encounter when Joao Palhinha lashed on to a cross from a corner kick to equalize for the cottagers.

The result meant that Arsenal have gotten 7 points from a maximum of nine and still remain on course to fight for the title.

EPL: Fenerbahce goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir joins Manchester United

English Premier League side, Manchester United have acquired the services of goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce.

Bayindir has completed his medicals at the club and will be joining the Red Devils this summer.

Man United are keen to bring in a new goalkeeper to provide back-up for Andre Onana, who arrived at the club earlier this summer from Inter Milan for a £47.2m deal.

Erik ten Hag’s side allowed David de Gea to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer earlier this summer with Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton currently the backup options for Onana.

Henderson is expected to leave Man United this summer and Premier League side Crystal Palace appear to be his most likely destination after he was previously linked with Nottingham Forest.

However, according to The Athletic, Man United have done a ‘pre-medical’ on Bayindir in Greece ahead of a potential €5million move.

Bayindir has five caps for Turkey’s national team and has made 145 appearances for Fenerbahce since arriving at the club in 2019.

    Mason Greenwood’s next move revealed

Embattled former Manchester United player, Mason Greenwood’s next possible destination has been revealed,

Greenwood could be set for a move to join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq as the Saudi Arabia club is weighing up an offer for the Manchester United forward.

Recall that Man United released a statement on Monday that Greenwood is set to leave the Premier League club following the conclusion of an internal investigation into his conduct after attempted rape charges against him were dropped in February.

Since Monday, Greenwood has been looking for a new club and he could be offered a fresh start by Al-Ettifaq, as reported by The Sun.

Al-Ettifaq, who have won their first two league matches this season, are considering offering the 21-year-old England star a £10m-a-year contract.

This would be a significant increase on his current Man United deal which sees him earn £75,000-a-week, equating to approximately £4m-per-year.

Should Greenwood move to Al-Ettifaq, he would join up with Gerrard, who was appointed the club’s new head coach last month.

Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana has heaped blame on the strikers of the club for missing their chances in the Red devils 2-0 loss to Tottenham on Saturday evening.

According to the Cameroonian goalkeeper, the Red Devils performed pretty well in defeat but laid the blame on the players that wasted the opportunities to score.

Tottenham defeated Manchester United 2-0 with goals from Pape Matar Sarr and Lisandro Martinez(own goal).

The Red Devils created chances throughout the game, with Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario making good saves.

Recall that Rashford and Casemiro had few opportunities to score but wasted them.

The biggest chance fell to Bruno Fernandes who had a clear header in front of goal and sent it a long way high and wide.

“We started well, created chances but unfortunately we didn’t score. If we scored, it would be a different game.

“Football is about scoring goals and we had some big chances.”

Manchester United have won one and lost one in the first two premier league games this season.

EPL: Match officials punished for denying Wolves genuine penalty against Manchester United

Referee Simon Hooper, video assistant ref Michael Sailsbury and assistant VAR Richard West have all been dropped for this weekend’s engagement following their wrong decision by not awarding Wolves a penalty in the season opener against Manchester United.

Manchester United defeated Wolves by  1-0 courtesy of Raphael Varane’s second-half header.

However, they should have conceded a late penalty after Andre Onana clattered into Sasa Kalajdzic and Craig Dawson in the final minute of injury time.

Replays showed that Onana missed the ball entirely, before making contact with the two Wolves players.

Hooper decided on the pitch that it was not a penalty and the VAR check also agreed with him.

Speaking in the immediate aftermath of the defeat, O’Neil revealed that Jon Moss, manager of the Premier League’s elite group of officials, had admitted that the visitors should have been awarded a spot kick.

Manchester United vs Dortmund: Why I yelled at Harry Maguire – Andre Onana

Manchester United Cameroonian goalkeeper, Andre Onana, has revealed why he yelled at former Manchester United Captain, Harry Maguire during a pre-season match with German side, Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

Onana claims he doesn’t have any issues with Maguire in the 3-2 loss to Dortmund.

The loss to the Bundesliga runners-up made it three defeats on the spin for the Red Devils.

With the score at 2-1, Onana ran out of his goal to scream at Maguire for his decision to play a short pass to Christian Eriksen, which led to a Dortmund chance and the keeper making a save.

According to Onana, he was just trying to arrange his defence line and prompting them not to make more mistakes.

Onana told MUTV: “I demand [from] them a lot and I will demand from them a lot because they are great players. Now, for me, it’s a big honour to play with these defenders.

“With [Lisandro] Martinez, Harry [Maguire] they are doing great things. They are important players for the club. I’m very happy to be part of this team and playing with them is something great.”

Pre-season Games: Onana debuts as Real Madrid beat Man Utd 2-0

Manchester United suffered its first defeat of the pre-season games after losing 2=0 to Real Madrid.

Red devils midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo went off with an injury that he had sustained inside the opening two minutes of the match

New signee, Jude Bellingham opened his goal scoring account for the Galaticos after lashing to a true pass from Aurelien Tchouameni and lobbying the ball pass debutant Andre Onana to put the Spanish side into the lead.

In the 89th minute, Joselu doubled Madrid’s effort with a prefect acrobatic goal to seal the victory.

Erik ten Hag fielded a strong team in Texas, with Mainoo the only starter who could not credibly claim to be a regular first-team starter for his club last season.

The manager made wholesale changes during the second half but United could not find an equaliser, and Joselu wrapped up the victory for Madrid late on.

It was a poor start to Onana’s United career, but thereafter he showed why Erik ten Hag bought him, with his ability to play out from the back, unlike his predecessor David De Gea.

Onana showcased his shot-stopping ability in the 25 th minute, palming away an angled shot from Vinicius Jr.

This was the Reds’ fifth pre-season game after victories over Leeds, Lyon and Arsenal, and a loss to Wrexham last night, when a youthful side was fielded against the League Two new boys in San Diego.

  • Why I rejected De Gea’s number 1 shirt – Andre Onana

Why I rejected De Gea’s number 1 shirt – Andre Onana

Newly acquired Manchester United Goalkeeper, Andre Onana has revealed why he refused to wear the club’s number one shirt recently vacated by David de Gea.

Recall that De Gea left the Premier League giants this summer making the number one shirt available for whoever would replace him.

However, upon arriving at Old Trafford from Inter Milan last week, Onana opted for the unusual No.24 shirt.

Onana became the most expensive African goalkeeper in the world.

And while many expected him to quickly pick up the iconic No.1 shirt, the Cameroonian opted to continue with the No.24, which he has worn previously at Ajax and Inter.

Onana has now explained that his shirt choice references his date of birth – 2/4, the second of April.

“I just like that number and it’s my birthday, my date of birth.

“So for me it’s great and I like this shirt. With this number we have done a lot and I hope this will continue,” he told MUTV.
