    Nigerian record producer and founder of the record label Mavin Records Micheal Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy has announced Tega Oghenejobo as the new president and chief operating officer (COO) of Mavin Records.

    Nigerian music lovers and fans of Mavin Records are celebrating as Don Jazzy via his official social media page made the massive announcement.

    Speaking highly of the newly appointed president, Don jazzy said, “I’m proud to announce Tega’s expanded role as President and COO of Mavin. I am often praised for being able to spot and raise superstars, but I can proudly say the most genius thing I have done in my life was being able to spot the passion and resilience in Tega.

    “From the early days, I’ve watched him be curious about the business, build teams, develop executives, and ensure our talents have sustainable careers from the start.”

    Don Jazzy also spoke on Tega’s commitment to Mavin from the beginning which has made him confident in his abilities.

    “His commitment to growing Mavin and shaping the future of African music has been relentless, and I’m confident that with him in this role, we’ll continue to break new ground and achieve even bigger milestones for our artists and company. Congratulations @tegamavin 🤍🐘.” Don Jazzy wrote.

    Also announcing the appointment, Mavin Records via its official Instagram page, stated that, “We are thrilled to announce Tega Oghenejobo as the President and COO of Mavin Global. This expanded leadership role reflects Tega’s significant contributions to our growth and his pivotal role in our strategic future.”

    The agency highlighted its commitment to expanding its global reach and developing its roster of talented artistes.

    “With Tega in this role, we are poised to strengthen our global footprint, enhance our exceptional talent roster, and set new industry benchmarks,” it said.

    Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has stirred reactions online after revealing her affection for her former boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

    The mother of one shared a video of the singer via her Instagram page, and expressed her love for him.

    According to Tiwa, Don Jazzy’s handsomeness was beginning to ‘enter her eyes’ and she could not hide it anymore.

    In her words: “Ahh Ahh let me not talk before they misinterprete my words but it’s as if Don Jazzy dey enter person eye like this.”

    Reacting to this, some netizens advised the singer to shoot her shot at her former boss since they have been close for a long time.

    However, it is well known that Tiwa Savage and the Marvin Record label boss (Don Jazzy) are best of friends even after the songstress parted ways with the music label.

    Earlier, Don Jazzy shared a video that features Comedian Kiekie in a trending skit.

    In the video shared by the music executive, Don Jazzy, he was seen questioning his Pharmacist, Kiekie, about the fake condoms she sold to him that resulted in his lovers being pregnant for him.

    After Don Jazzy expressed his utmost displeasure, some group of pregnant ladies stormed the pharmacy shop.

    Reacting to the video, Tiwa Savage shared the video on her Instagram story while tagging Don Jazzy and captioned it, “@donjazzy my guy me too I’m pregnant o (na joke o, social media amebos)”.

    Popular singer and music producer, Don Jazzy, has opened up about why he cannot be in a relationship with one woman.

    In a podcast, the Mavin boss said that he has not gotten to the point where his interest can be in only just one woman.

    According to him, he has not yet figured out how other people can like a single person and then put off their interest in other women because he has, at the moment, never felt the need to do so.

    While making his point, he gave a scenario where one lady he likes comes to an event with another lady, and he could just at that moment begin to have interest in the second lady as well.

    Don Jazzy added that he does not mind his partners also being in a thing with other people if they feel they need to do so.

    In September 2014, Ajereh produced a Nigerian social activist song with Reekado Banks and Di’Ja called “Arise”. At the Headies Awards 2015, Ajereh argued with Olamide. The two disagreed about who should have won the “Next Rated” award. Lil Kesh of YBNL records lost to Reekado Banks, Ajereh’s artist. The winner of the award received a car. Apologies on both sides were posted afterward.

    After Reekado Banks’ departure from the Mavin Records label, Don Jazzy said he is still part of the family and wished him nothing but success in his career as he thanked him for the time spent with Mavin Records.

    In 2019, he signed Rema and later went on in 2020 to sign Ayra Starr into Mavins Record Label. In 2021, he announced a new artist, Magixx. On 7 April 2021, he revealed why he never signed Davido.

    Nigerian record producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has slammed people who condemn housemates in ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) “Level Up” edition for flirting.

     

    He pointed out that flirting with two or three people happens everyday in different homes, noting that the difference is the presence of cameras in Biggie’s house.

     

    Don Jazzy, who is the founder and the CEO of Mavin Records, shared his thoughts via his official Twitter page.

     

    He wrote: “All these everybody toasting everybody, flirting with everybody vibing with 2 or 3 people at the same time happens every day, but we just don’t live in the same house with cameras watching every move.”

    Don Jazzy married Michelle Jackson in 2003.

     

    He claims they both had issues as a result of his ambitious nature and subsequently divorced about two years after they wed.

     

    However, Don Jazzy does not plan to marry again soon because he fears his love and dedication to music will hurt someone’s feelings again.

     

    The record producer has a younger brother, D’Prince.

     

    In July 2022, he announced the death of his mother via his Instagram page.

    In 2004, Don Jazzy collaborated with D’Banj to form Mo’ Hits Records.

     

    In the next two years, Don Jazzy produced the albums No Long Thing and Rundown/Funk You Up.

     

    Around this time, Don Jazzy developed a recognizable introduction, “It’s Don Jazzy Again!”.

     

    In 2008, Don Jazzy was credited in the production of The Entertainer by D’Banj.

     

    He also contributed to the production of Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 MoHits, an album that was described as one of the best albums to ever come out of Nigeria.

     

    Although Don Jazzy did not take credit as a singer, he performed background vocals for artists he produced. These performances include vocals for D’Banj, Sauce Kid, Dr SID, Ikechukwu, Kween, D’Prince.

     

    In 2011, Don Jazzy was employed by Kanye West as a producer at Very Good Beatz.

     

    Don Jazzy worked with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyoncé on the album Watch The Throne which was released on 8 August 2011.

     

    In March 2012, Don Jazzy and D’Banj confirmed their breakup citing artistic differences.

    On 7 May 2012, Don Jazzy announced a new record label, Mavin Records.

     

    He said, “I see Mavin Records being the power house of Music in Africa in the shortest possible time.”

     

    On 8 May 2012, he released an album featuring the artists signed to his label.

    Don Jazzy-led Mavin Records, also known as the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, has been honoured as the fastest-growing entertainment brand in the entertainment category in Africa.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the record label, which was founded on 8 May 2012, was honoured with the award at the 2022 edition of the Global Brands award organised by Global Brand Magazine.

     

    Mavin Records, listed among other winners in the current edition of the magazine, was honoured in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the growth of the entertainment industry in Nigeria and Africa.

     

    This marks the second time in a row that the company will be winning the award.

     

    On the choice of Mavin Records for the entertainment category, the award organisers said in a statement that the jury was highly impressed with the quality of Mavin’s contribution and impact on the growth of the entertainment industry in Africa.

     

    Mavin Records is a Nigerian music corporation record label founded by record producer and recording artist Don Jazzy.

     

    The label’s inception came to fruition following the closure of Mo’ Hits Records, a record label owned by the aforementioned producer and D’banj.

     

    The label is home to recording artists such as Korede Bello, Dr SID, D’Prince, Di’Ja, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, DNA Twins, Rema, Ayra Starr, Magixx & Boy Spyce.

     

    It also houses producers such as Jazzy himself, Altims and Baby Fresh.[4] In 2014, DJ Big N became the label’s official disc jockey.

     

    Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks and Iyanya were all formerly signed to the label.

     

    On 8 May 2012, the label released its compilation album Solar Plexus.

     

    In January 2019, Mavin Records secured a multi-million dollar investment from Kupanda Holdings, a subsidiary of Kupanda Capital and TPG Growth.

     

    Mavin Records started as a result of D’banj’s departure from Mo’ Hits. Prior to commenting on D’banj’s exit from Mo’ Hits, there were allegations that D’banj signed over Mo’ Hits to Don Jazzy.

    It was alleged that Mavin Records signed producers Aluko “Altims” Timothy and Sunday “BabyFresh” Enejere.

     

    On 7 May 2012, the record label launched its official website and the Mavin league, a social networking site designed to cater to its fans worldwide.

     

    Don Jazzy signed endorsement deals with Samsung and Loya Milk after establishing the label; Tiwa Savage also signed an endorsement deal with Pepsi. Within a year of becoming a revamped brand, the record label released “Take Banana” and “Oma Ga” as singles from its debut compilation album Solar Plexus.

     

    In February 2014, Don Jazzy signed Di’Ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello to Mavin Records a week after each other.

     

    On 1 May 2014, Mavin Records released the hit single “Dorobucci” to critical acclaim. On 25 February 2015, Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage both signed endorsement deals with Konga.com. On 31 October 2016, several media outlets in Nigeria reported that Iyanya signed a record deal with Mavin Records. Both Iyanya and Don Jazzy confirmed the report on Instagram.

     

    On 28 February 2017, Don Jazzy announced the signings of Johnny Drille, Ladipoe and DNA to Mavin Records. In March 2019, he also announced the signing of Rema to Mavin. On 31 May, Mavin unveiled the signing of Crayon.

     

    The next day, the record label released the collaborative single “All is in Order”. On 21 January 2021, the label unveiled the signing of Ayra Starr, an 18-year-old female, Afropop singer.

    Nigerian record producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy has said he has learned in a hard way how it feels like to lose a loved one.

    Don Jazzy stated this on Sunday while apologizing to his friends and associates who lost loved ones and do not think he was there enough for them.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the Mavin Records boss recently lost his mother, Mrs Ajereh, fondly referred to as Indiana Picolo, after a 1-year battle with cancer.

    “Experience is truly the best teacher. Before I thank everyone for their calls, visits and messages, I need to first apologize to my friends and associates who lost loved ones and don’t think I was there enough for them. I know better now and sadly, I had to learn the hard way.

    “Thank you everyone for your support over the last few days. It has meant the world to me. Funeral details will be shared once finalized. We will also share links so you can join us remotely from wherever you are. Thank you again guys,” Don Jazzy wrote.

    TNG reports Don Jazzy had in an Instagram post announcing the death of his mother described Mrs Ajereh as his support and backbone.

    He disclosed that Indiana Picolo was so strong till the last minute even while she battled the cancer.

    The post reads: “I lost my sweet mother this morning. The matriarch of our family. My supporter and backbone @indianpicolo.

    “I am beyond devastated. I have never felt pain like this in my life but I am consoled by the good life she lived. She was loved by everyone that ever met her.

    “She was so strong till the last minute for us even while she battled with cancer.

    “I have never typed a more difficult caption in my life. Please pray for our Mums soul to Rest In Peace and for strength for my dad, my siblings, her grandchildren and our entire family to bear this loss”.

    Music producer, Michael Collins Ajereh, known professionally as Don Jazzy has thrown social media into a frenzy after sharing a raunchy massage video on his official Instagram handle.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Don Jazzy is seen in the raunchy video as massaging a petite lady curved and locked on his groin in a questionable manner.

    The Mavin Records boss, who had expressed frustration after Rihanna revealed her baby bump, had the lady’s body well oiled and carried out the massage with dexterity.

    Don Jazzy shared the raunchy massage video, which has left his followers stunned, with the caption: “Do you need a massage, I am the best indeed”.

    Nigerian record producer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mavin Records, Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy has opened up he is learning how to properly woo a woman.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Don Jazzy, married in 2003 and divorced in 2005, made this known via his official Instagram handle on Tuesday, advising men to start learning how to properly woo a woman as well.

    The veteran music producer stressed that women can no longer be impressed with money, adding that the best way to stand a chance of getting any woman is to properly woo her.

    According to the Mavin Records boss, the days of using money to get a woman are now far gone, and that women now need proper wooing if a man wants to have any.

    He shared a video on his page to give men the latest update, and he even shared a few hints on how to go about it.

    “Ogbeni in this 2022, go and learn how to toast babe o. You know say me I no sabi toast before but I don dey learn small small o.

    “Because, all these girls they’ve gone brov. The car wey you dey plan to buy next year, dem park am for garage. Your money cannot afford them,” Don Jazzy said in a video shared on Instagram and captioned “How are you doing your highness? May I speak freely? You are beautiful and I will like to wash your pant”.

  • Mavin Records gets investment support from Kupanda Holdings

    The Don Jazzy led Mavin Records has reportedly clinched a massive investment partnership from Kupanda Holdings.

    According to a publication by Music Business Worldwide, the deal with Kupanda Holdings, a joint venture between Kupanda Capital and TPG Growth will help scale operations under the Mavin Global brand in order to meet “rapidly growing international demand” for African music.

    TPG, one of the partners in Kupanda Holdings is a significant investor revolutionary tech companies such as Uber, AirBnB, Spotify, CAA, and STX Entertainment.
    Mavin Records which was founded in Lagos in 2012 is home to a roster of artistes which includes Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, Johnny Drille, Ladipose Di’ja, D’Prince, Korede Bello DJ Big N and DNA Twins.
    Tega Oghenejobo, Chief Operating Officer of Mavin, also confirmed the deal.

    In his words: “With the resources and operational capacity Kupanda Holdings brings along with their investment, Mavin is now ready to grow our artist roster across the continent, and partner at a global scale. We are looking to build an institution that will support the fantastic creative ecosystem in Africa, and move Afrobeats to the forefront of the global industry”, he told TheNetng

    In recent times, there has been a decline in the activities of prominent record label, Mavin Records, led by Don Jazzy.

    The music producer and entrepreneur has allayed the fears of his fans who think the record label is no longer in existence.

    A fan had asked Don Jazzy on Twitter If the record label was still in existence.

    “Mr Jazzy, is mavin dead or Buhari’s change has hit your label? This one your top artistes are leaving, leaving behind the learner’s and the upcoming?”

    Don Jazzy wrote:” Naaa we never die. We just faint small. E Dey happen. Pray for us to recover if you can”.
