    I don’t care what people say, I will forever stand with Tinubu – MC Oluomo

    Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Lagos branch, Alhaji Akinsanya Ayinde, popularly known as MC Oluomo on Wednesday said he would forever stand with the National Leader, All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, no matter what people say.

    Tinubu has been in the eyes of the storm since soldiers shot at #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate last week Tuesday.

    The protesters accused Tinubu of sending the soldiers to shoot at protesters and there were rumours that he fled to France and later to London.

    Tinubu later showed up at Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s residence in Marina to condole with the governor over the shooting incident, debunking that he ever travelled.

    Tinubu’s properties were singled out for destruction during the #EndSARS violence. TVC and The Nation were set ablaze, as well as others.

    Despite Tinubu’s explanation that he did not have hand in the shooting at the Lekki Tollgate, many still did not believe.

    But Oluomo, reacting to the development said he would forever be loyal to Tinubu and would not betray him.

    “I will forever stand with Bola Ahmed Tinubu no matter what people say,” he tweeted.

    Anger, disdain was written on the faces of #EndSARS protesters at the Lagos State House of Assembly on Friday when they rejected food and drinks sent by the Chairman of the National Union of the Road Transport Workers in the state, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.

    Their action was in reaction to the attack perpetrated on the protesters by thugs at Ikeja, the state capital, on Thursday.

    MC Oluomo was alleged to have been the champion of the violent attack but he has denied the allegation.

    Chairman of the National Union of the Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Lagos State Council Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) has labeled allegations he sponsored attacks on #EndSARS protesters at Alausa as mischievous.

    Oluomo on Friday morning, 16th of October 2020 took to his Instagram page to debunk the claims.

    According to him, “The brutality and extortion experienced by the good people of Nigeria is unacceptable and must be stopped .Nigerian Police Force must be reformed”.

     

    The union leader said: “I will like to state unequivocally that I neither know the thugs that destruct the protest nor sponsor them because I have no reason to do so. Their demands are for the generality of Nigerians and I totally align myself with them.A better and safer Nigeria is what I want for both my children and loved ones. That is why it came to me as a shock when some unscrupulous individuals were peddling falsehood that I am the one that sponsored the thugs that disperse the protesters. I am not responsible and I will never be part of such anti-people move.Luckily enough, some of the thugs had been arrested. I implore the Police to conduct their investigations diligently and make the perpetrators to face the full wrath of the law”.

    NURTW boss, MC Oluomo speaks on report of plotting to be lawmaker, governor in Lagos

    The chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo has dispelled rumours that he is planning to contest for a political office in Lagos State in the future.

    The known All Progressives Congress’s supporter, however, said is fully in “support” of the party in government in the state.

    The union boss popularly known as MC Oluomo made the clarification while speaking with Funmi Iyanda on Public Eye.

    “The constitution permits anyone to contest,” Akinsanya said in Yoruba. “But count me out of it (contesting).”

    “I don’t want to be a rep, a senator or a governor,” he said.

    Akinsanya also said on Public Eye that NURTW has set up a committee to ensure fares in different parts of the state do not get too prohibitive for commuters following the state government’s directive cutting passenger limits for different types of vehicles after coronavirus lockdown in the state was washed off.

    The government also imposed a statewide ban on the operations of commercial motorcyclists.

    Lagos State has the highest coronavirus burden in Nigeria with 2099 cases as of May 14.

    “I gave out my number at a recent forum so that people can call to report cases of hike in fare,” Akinsanya said. “We have also set up a task force to that effect.”

    Lagos NURTW boss, MC Oluomo loses mum

    Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State Council, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) has lost his mother, Alhaji Zinat Abebi Omotowo.

    MC Oluomo told newsmen that she passed on around 7am Thursday.

    She was aged 87.

    The Janazah (interment) was held at the Akinsanya’s Lagos home near Ejigbo NNPC in accordance with the Islamic rites.

    The late Alhaja Zinat was said to have observed the Solatul Subh (Morning Prayer) before she passed on.

    Suspected killers of MC Oluomo’s aide remanded

    An Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos on Tuesday remanded two men, Ayuba Balogun and Evans Adamson in prison custody over allegations of possession of firearms and murder of one Olayinka Mamora.

    Mamora aka Mamok, until his death in 2015, was an aide to the then Lagos State treasurer of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.

    Akinsanya is now chairman of the state NURTW.

    The 10 assailants reportedly rode on motorbikes to Mosaku Street in Oshodi and shot Mamora in the head.

    The deceased was killed inside a barber’s shop while having his hair cut. It was gathered that the saloon was a stone’s throw from the deceased’s residence.

    According to an eyewitness, the assailants after killing Mamok, dragged his body outside and put it on top of his ash-colored Honda saloon car.

    At the court on Tuesday, Magistrate B.I. Bakare ordered the remand of the defendants Balogun and Adamson for the next 30 days, pursuant to Section 264(1), (2) (3) (4) and (60 of the Administration of the Criminal Justice Law of Lagos state 2015 and Section 35 (1) (9c) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

    The prosecutor, Mr Morufu Animashaun, informed the court that the defendants were brought on a remand warrant application charge, dated October 28.

    He prayed the court to remand the duo in prison custody pending the issuance of legal advice from the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

    Animashaun further informed the court that the defendants and others still at large on September 30, 2015, at about 7:30pm, mobilised themselves and invaded a barbing saloon, along Mosaku Street, Oshodi Lagos, shot and killed one Olayinka Mamora.

    He said that they shot Mamora with a gun and left him in a pool of blood.

    The prosecution attached to the application, a 12-paragraph affidavit and a petition, deposed to by one Inspector Abideen Adewale, attached to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Unit, Force Head-quarters, Abuja.

    The petition stated that the deceased went to visit his father at Mosaku Street Mafoloku, Oshodi and while there, he decided to go and have a haircut at a barbing saloon three buildings away from his father’s house.

    The petition further stated that the defendants and others at large invaded the saloon, attacked and dragged out the deceased.

    Animashaun told the court that Balogun, also known as Black Jesus, shot him in the head and chest.

    According to the prosecutor, the defendants dragged the corpse and placed it on the vehicle of the deceased, and immediately fled the area.

    The prosecutor said during the course of the investigation, three pump action guns, and ten live cartridges were recovered from the defendants’ criminal hideout at Mowe-Ibafo, Ogun state and Oshodi.

    A chieftain of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo, is in the best of moods at the moment.

    Oluomo who was attacked at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ikeja on Jan. 8, has regained his health, grateful to God for preserving his life.

    Recounting his ordeal at a thanksgiving programme organised to celebrate his victory, he expressed his shock at what happened, revealing what he did immediately he was stabbed.

    “I want to give thanks to God for saving my life, because only I, knew what hit me at that moment. ,Immediately it happened, I felt light and I started feeling thirsty, just like someone who had been shot and loosing blood. I knew if I had taken any liquid at that time, I would have died.

    “But what came to my mind was the 7-7 water I got from Mecca. I have seen and experience how Alfas make use of the Holy water and how it works. While I was being rushed to the hospital, all I could do was to request that my people try as much as possible to get me the 7-7 water. I took the water and became a bit alive after some days. Some other Islamic rites was also carried out immediately and the Imams, Pastors, and Traditionalists rose up to the occasion. It was the third day, that I regained consciousness and felt life within me” he said.

    The thanksgiving ceremony was attended by Imam Muyideen Bello, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Nike Pella, Fausat Balogun, Saoti Arewa, Oyiboyi and many more.

    MC Oluomo discharged from hospital, travels abroad

    A chieftain of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya a.k.a MC Oluomo, was on Tuesday night discharged from a Lagos hospital, where he was receiving treatment.

    MC Oluomo was attacked at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ikeja on Jan. 8, and was immediately taken to Eko Hospital, following injuries he sustained.

    A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who visited the Eko Hospital in Ikeja on Wednesday, gathered that MC Oluomo left the hospital on Tuesday night after payment of over N2 million medical bill.

    A very reliable source, who preferred anonymity, told NAN that the NURTW leader may have left for the United States immediately he was discharged from hospital on Tuesday night.

    “He is very fine and has nothing to worry about his health after his treatment at the hospital. Before he finally left on Tuesday night, he was receiving a lot of well-wishers.

    “Sometimes, he moves around and sometimes walks his visitors to the corridor, so he was in a sound health before leaving the hospital.

    “Few days before he left the hospital, his associates were making arrangements for his trip,’’ the source said.

    NAN also observed that there was no more police presence around the hospital, as the three police vehicles stationed there had been removed.

    The Lagos State Police Command had said it arrested some suspects and also declared wanted another NURTW chieftain over the disruption of the APC rally in Lagos.

    The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, had said that those arrested in connection with the incident were helping the police in their investigation.

    Reports emerged on Thursday evening that Oluomo, who was stabbed during the All Progressives Congress, APC, rally on Tuesday, has passed on.

     

    But in a video uploaded by Taiye Currency on Tuesday, 15th of January 2019, the singer debunked the rumour and also sang for him.

    In the video, MC Oluomo can be seen smiling while the crooner rain praises on him.

    Yoruba actresses have declared support and speedy recovery for the leader of the Lagos State Chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, better known by his nickname MC Oluomo, who was gravely injured after being stabbed at the flag off of the APC gubernatorial campaign on 9th of January 2019.

    Mc Oluomo has been a benefactor and patron of the Yoruba movie industry. He has also been romantically linked with several Yoruba actresses , helping them financially with their movie projects.

    Many fans of the Yoruba sub sector of Nollywood were however not surprised when the likes of Ronke Oshodi Oke, Iyabo Ojo and others took to their Instagram pages to wish the injured union leader speedy recovery.
