    Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has passed a “secret” Barcelona medical, it has been revealed.

    The Dane is off contract at Chelsea this summer and has been in talks with Barca about a Bosman move.

    Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito, has revealed Christensen is closing on a move to the Nou Camp.

    He said: “They tell me that this Monday a Chelsea footballer who wants Barça has passed the medical examination in London, in secret.

    “He is Danish, central and his name is Andreas Christensen.

    “The (Cesar) Azpilicueta thing is more complicated because he has an optional season (with Chelsea). The departure of Christensen, that of (Toni) Rüdiger and that of Azpilicueta would leave Chelsea without a defence.”

    Ainsley Maitland-Niles is undergoing a medical with Roma.

    The Arsenal midfielder on a loan deal until the end of the 2021-22 season, according to Goal.

    Roma manager Jose Mourinho is impressed with Maitland-Niles’ versatility, with the Englishman also able to play at fullback.

    The Giallorossi do not have an option to make the deal permanent.

    Maitland-Niles came through the Arsenal academy, having joined at the age of six.

    He has since made 132 first-team appearances for the club.

    Cristiano Ronaldo has completed his Manchester United medical in Lisbon.

    Sky Sports says terms have been agreed on a two-year deal and United have also inserted a clause to extend the contract for a further season. They will pay around £20m to Juventus.

    The final touches are being put on visa details before Ronaldo’s move to United is officially done and the Old Trafford outfit can unveil the Portugal star ahead of his second spell with the club.

    Ronaldo is expected to have agreed terms on a £480,000-a-week deal at United, which will make him the Premier League’s highest-paid player.

    He could make his second United debut on September 11 against Newcastle at Old Trafford.

    Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has passed the first-half of his Chelsea medical.

    The Daily Mail says Lukaku has completed the first part of his medical ahead of his £98m return to Chelsea and dropped a big hint that a deal is close to being over the line.

    The Belgian forward was recorded leaving Milan’s Columbus clinic on Monday afternoon and appeared to be holding a Chelsea shirt at the back of the car as he was whisked away.

    The two clubs have now agreed a fee for Lukaku, 28, who told Italian champions Inter last week that he wanted to join Chelsea.

    He is poised to sign a contract worth around £200,000 per week after tax.

    Ronaldo undergoes medical ahead of fourth season with Juventus

    Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo underwent a medical in Turin on Monday ahead of his fourth season with Juventus, along with four other returning Euro 2020 participants.

    The 36-year-old Portugal international, who has one-year left on his contract, flew back to northern Italy on Sunday night.

    On Monday morning the top scorer in Serie A last season arrived at the team’s medical centre for tests where he was greeted by about one hundred cheering Juve fans and signed autographs.

    Also returning were European championship participants Dejan Kulusevski, Matthijs De Ligt, Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot.

    Ronaldo was reported to be set to meet coach Massimiliano Allegri and the Juventus management to clarify his future amid speculation linking him with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

    The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future had been in doubt after a difficult campaign during which Juventus lost their Serie A crown after nine years, exited the Champions League in the last 16 and only sealed fourth place and elite European football on the final day.

    Juventus open the new season at Udinese with Allegri, who signed Ronaldo in 2018, back at the helm two years after his shock departure despite winning five consecutive league titles with the Turin club.

    Former Real Madrid and Manchester United star Ronaldo has scored 101 goals in total for the club in 133 games.

    Andros Townsend is undergoing a medical today at Everton.

    The 30-year old is a free agent after his contract was allowed to run down at Crystal Palace.

    The Daily Mail says Townsend is set to be joined at Goodison by former Leicester winger Demarai Gray. Everton are talking to his current club Bayer Leverkusen with a buyout clause set at around £1.7m.

    Crystal Palace have also expressed an interest in 25-year old Gray.

    Everton are also among the clubs to have asked about Burnley’s Dwight McNeil as they look to improve the service into their strikers. They also need cover with Richardson taking part in the Olympics with Brazil.

    Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has completed his medical ahead of the completion of his £73m move to Manchester United.

    Although the 21-year-old has not been pictured arriving at the club’s Carrington training base, a blacked out van arrived there on Tuesday amid suggestions Sancho is putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated move, says the Daily Mail.

    After completing the medical, Sancho is expected to go on holiday and rest up but he will only have three weeks off before joining up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

    United’s Premier League season kicks off on August 14, when they host Leeds at Old Trafford.

    Sancho, 21, leaves Dortmund with 50 goals in 137 matches for the German outfit, providing 64 assists as well.

    Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is ready to sign a contract with PSG.

    Marca says Ramos will put pen to paper on a two-year deal to move to the Parc des Princes and reinforce an already strong PSG side.

    Ramos could even land in Paris at some time on Tuesday to undergo his medical and, if all goes well, he will be confirmed by the club on Wednesday.

    Police arrest suspects providing medical services to bandits

    The Kaduna State Government, said two people suspected of providing medical services to bandits have been arrested by the police in Buruku, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

    The government, however, said at least three people were killed by gunmen in different locations in the state within the last 48 hours.

    The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Monday in Kaduna.

    According to him, in one of the attacks, bandits invaded Rafin Roro village in Kajuru local government area and killed one person.

    “Eleven expended rounds of AK-47 ammunition were found at the location. Security patrols are proceeding with investigations in the general area.

    “Similarly, one citizen was killed by bandits at a settlement near Maraban Jos, Igabi local government area.

    “Bandits also killed one at the outskirts of Garu village, Igabi LGA, after rustling an unspecified number of cows belonging to two persons.”

    The commissioner said security personnel engaged the bandits, and one of them was found roaming about in the bush while others escaped with bullet wounds.

    He said Gov. Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness as he prayed for the repose of the slain citizens, and sent condolences to their families.

    “The governor commended the Kaduna State Police Command for the arrests in Chikun LGA, and urged that thorough investigations be pursued to conclusion.”

    Kai Havertz completed a medical with Chelsea in London on Sunday, reports have claimed.

    The Blues have agreed to pay an initial £72m to Bayer Leverkusen, with an additional £18m of add-ons included.

    The 21-year-old will sign a five-year contact with his new club.

    And Bild’s head of football writer Christian Falk has confirmed Havertz passed a medical in England before linking up with the German national team on Monday.

    He will become Chelsea’s club-record signing and the most expensive German player of all-time.

    Chelsea will have to register Havertz by Thursday if he plays for Germany to be able to apply for an exemption so he won’t have to quarantine upon his arrival in the UK.

    If they don’t Havertz risks missing the start of the Premier League season.
