    Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe left her fans confused and bewildered on Tuesday, May 2nd 2017 when she shared a romantic photo of herself with her husband, Lanre Gentry.

    Though she has since deleted the post after fans condemned her, but this perhaps is an indication that they are back together .

    Recall that news broke last week about Mercy Aigbe’s marriage hitting the rocks as a result of domestic violence and infidelity.

    However, her fans have reacted in a myriad of ways to the picture she posted on her Instagram page. While some expressed their joy that the couple are back together, others simply expressed their shock and disappointment.

     

    A certain Lady Arike wrote:” She is just making a fool out of people”

    Another adds:” She is confused, very confused”

    “You can fool the world, but you can’t fool yourself. Suffering and smiling” another fan wrote.

The reports of their messy marriage crisis has been all over the place with allegations of domestic violence and infidelity being the two major issues said to be responsible for the split

    In the words of Njamah: ” Women! why can’t our women learn!?.. It seems the more you advise them the more difficult it becomes for them to comprehend.. Gosh!!.. we need to introduce social media classes so that these women and the younger women to come will understand how not to throw their entire lives out there… now all they want to do is SLAY and splash photos on insta when the home front is not so rossy… and when the STUPID women beater do their thing, you come crying to us..

    Just yesterday the social media was awash with news that Mercy Aigbe’s marriage to Larry Gentry has hit the rocks.

    Mercy who was allegedly assaulted by her hubby was captured undergoing a CT scan. Radiology reports says that she had a fractured skull after being abused by her husband. On the flipside, Larry Gentry has continually the accusations.

    According to reports reaching TheNewsGuru, the CT scan was done at St. Solomon HealthCare Limited. The scan is recommended for checking fractures and swellings .It is recommended to check for swellings or fractures within the head, usually caused trauma.

    The real details of Mercy Aigbe’s marriage crash have surfaced. TheNewsGuru reports that it was as result of domestic violence, scarcity of trust and irreconcilable differences

    Sources reveal that on Easter Sunday, Mercy’s hubby gave her money to cook so as to bring the delicacies to his hotel in Oregun where he would be hosting his friends. She didn’t carry out the task and stopped picking his calls. From the enquiries he made, he learnt that she attended a party without performing her duties.

    When her hubby realized his wife was in her fashion designer’s house, he went there and demanded that she goes back home. Mercy refused, saying she was tired of the marriage. This infuriated her husband Lanre, who beat her and became violent. Mercy in tears vowed not to return to her matrimonial home. As a result of the injury sustained from the beatings, she was immediately rushed to the hospital.

    According to Mercy’s close friends in Nollywood, the couple have been tolerating each other for a while. Things became tough when her hubby couldn’t meet up with his financial obligations as a result of his dwindling income.

    On the part of Lanre, he accused her of being promiscuous and unfaithful to him.

    This is not the first time news broke concerning Mercy Aigbe’s marriage crisis. In 2013, her husband allegedly beat her up for attending a party organized in a nightclub to honour her. Amazingly the couple denied the rumour in a video.

    For a while now social media has been awash with news that Mercy Aigbe’s marriage to hotelier, Lanre Gentry has crashed. According to reports Mercy has been enduring domestic violence for a long time in her marriage but it got intense recently.

    The couple had an unpleasant fight last week that left her with severe injuries . She is still getting treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos.

    In the same vein, Mercy few hours ago took to her Instagram page writing on domestic violence. She wrote:”Say NO to DOMESTIC VIOLENCE…… Only a Coward hits a woman! REAL MEN don’t HIT!”

    Her husband immediately responded and wrote:”Say No to the promiscuous and irresponsible women”.

    Another source disclosed that Mercy’s hubby has a fair skinned mistress named Opemititi who has allegedly been mentioned as the one responsible for the crash of her marriage

    Popular actress and filmmaker, Yewande Adekoya is set to unveil her new epic movie titled Iyawo Adedigba. The movie stars Mercy Aigbe, Ibrahim Chatta, Damola Olatunji and others.

    Speaking on the inspiration behind the movie, Adekoya told TheNewsGuru:”Iyawo Adedigba is an epic master piece. It is very entertaining and educative. You will totally love it. It is my own little way of bringing our Yoruba Epic movies back in style”.

    The movie embodies the heritage of the Yoruba culture ranging from language to expression to values and norms. It is directed by ace filmmaker Adebayo Tijani .

  • Infringement saga: “I don’t know you”, Mercy Aigbe tells fashion designer

    Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe Gentry was called out by a fashion designer, Phoonmy Afrika, on Instagram today, January 20, 2017, for failing to fulfill an agreement.

    The seamstress had put up a picture of Mercy in an Ankara blouse accusing her of rocking one of her designs without giving her credit.

    According to the fashion designer, she reached an agreement with Mercy and another actress, Jumoke Odetola but Jumoke fulfilled her part of the agreement and Mercy didn’t rather she tagged another designer on Instagram. She added that Mercy has refused to give the dress back after everything.

    Mercy Aigbe however, has denied such claims. According to her, the outfit was given to her by good friend, Jumoke Odetola. She wrote on Instagram in response to the accusation:

    “Goodmorning Fam!….. My attention as been drawn to a particular story trending, regarding this shirt, pls I will like to start categorically that I don’t know the said designer, I never agreed to tag her and she didn’t give me the shirt. The shirt was given to me by Jumoke Odetola as a birthday gift and when she dropped the shirt at my office, she never mentioned the designer and didn’t tell me to tag anyone. ………thank you all and have a blessed day.”
