Toyin Abraham reunite Mercy Aigbe, Iyabo Ojo at Toyin Lawani’s wedding

Nollywood actresses, Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe have sheathed their swords and embraced peace after a perceived rift.

Both movie stars were guests at Toyin Lawani’s wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 12 and showed up in splendid outfits.

TheNewsGuru recalls that last year, a popular Instagram blog revealed there was a silent beef between Mercy and Iyabo Ojo.

It was reported Mercy got angry because Iyabo didn’t acknowledge her when she posted the photo of her late mother.

Although the duo neither confirmed nor debunked the story, they haven’t been seen together in public neither have they shown love to one another as they used to on social media.

However, that has been quashed now with the recent photo they shared.

Their mutual friend, Toyin Abraham said she masterminded their reconciliation.

“Yesss I did it! iyaboojofespris realmercyaigbe love you both #ilovepeace #ilovepeace #butimskilledatwar.”

The movie stars also shared a picture of both of them standing together at the ceremony on their Instagram pages.

While Iyabo Ojo’s caption of their photo read: “Fun times.”

Mercy on the other hand captioned the same photo: “It’s party time.”

I have lost count of the shoes I own-Mercy Aigbe

Asides from being a talented actress, on thing Mercy Aigbe is known for is being fashionable.

The beautiful role interpreter who pays huge attention to her chicness has stated that she doesn’t know the amount of shoes she owns.

“I have a lot of shoes, I’ve lost count and I hardly sleep in my room now. This morning, a thought just crossed my mind that maybe I should do something for my die-hard followers, my fans, if they don’t mind, the clothes I’ve worn not more than once, very soon I’m going to be giving them out to them”, she told The Nation.

On why she doesn’t have tattoos like her other colleagues, the outspoken actress said: “Maybe it’s because I dread pain. But seriously, I don’t like it on me because I’m an insatiable person when it comes to having things like that on my body. Today I may like a bird, and the following day I’ll get tired of that and want to change it. And asides that, in my job, you’ll have to play different roles, so it automatically restricts the number of roles you can play in a movie, so I feel as a professional actress, you shouldn’t, maybe to an extent, have a permanent thing on your body”.

I have not given up on love- Mercy Aigbe declares

Popular actress and filmmaker, Mercy Aigbe has revealed why she cannot give up on love.

The fashionable Nollywood star made this known during in an interactive session with her fans on Instagram Live.

She said, “I have not given up on love and I would never do that. A lot of people ask, ‘Mercy, are you going back to your husband, or remarrying’? The truth is that I don’t even know. I am more focussed on my businesses, raising my children and acting career. Whatever will come after in terms of marriage and relationship, when I get to that bridge, I would cross it. As a filmmaker, I see myself as a sort of preacher because I believe movies are meant to be entertaining and educative.”

Aigbe also said that marriage is a partnership between two people who are ready to compromise. She said,“Nowadays, marriages are breaking up everywhere and I don’t know why. I only know why I got separated from my husband. However, I would not encourage anyone to stay in an abusive marriage. If a spouse has anger issues, such person should seek help. There is nothing impossible. It is just very disheartening that marriages are breaking.

“These are two people from different homes and backgrounds coming together to live under the same roof as one. Even parents and children have issues. A mother and child relationship is usually considered the closest, yet they still have issues. How much more two people with different belief systems. There is bound to be conflict once in a while; it is how the conflict is managed that matters.”

Reacting to her post, Gentry fired back saying:”Happy father’s day and happy Sunday to my good people all over the world. Any woman in the world that says happy father’s day to herself should prepare to be paying for the children’s school fees. Again happy father’s day to me.”

Mercy Aigbe calls me if she needs anything – Lanre Gentry declares

Estranged hubby of Mercy Aigbe, Lanre Gentry has debunked claims that he has gotten married to another woman.

Earlier in the week, social media was awash with reports that Gentry had remarried.

However in a recent interview, the popular hotelier debunked such claims.

“Who said that I have a new wife? A lot of people just make assumptions based on my Instagram posts. The lady that I referred to as my wife is my younger brother’s wife. She lives in London with her family. I called her my wife because she’s my brother’s wife. People didn’t read my post very well. I wouldn’t tell my supposed wife to greet her family.

“I don’t know why some Nigerians are quick to jump to conclusions when they see innocent and harmless posts online. Mercy Aigbe knows the lady I celebrated very well. This is not the first time that people have speculated that I’ve married another woman based on social media posts. It seems a lot of people are just obsessed with marriage for me. I’m a Yoruba man and if I want to marry another wife, I would do that”, he told Punch.

Asked if he still communicates with his estranged wife, Gentry stated: “Me and Mercy are not fighting. If I want to see her, I would call her and if she needs anything, she also calls me. We have a good rapport. God has the final say over our relationship and He knows how it would turn out in the future. I take care of my children. I can’t speak for other fathers but I carry out my responsibilities as a man. I still see Mercy as a part of me. It’s only a mentally unstable man that would leave a woman with children to go and fend for herself. I pay my children’s school fees diligently and I thank God that their mother is also taking good care of them. It’s not easy for a woman to work and also take care of the children.”

I asked myself, ‘Would I be able to act in the presence of my role model?’ I went to a corner and prayed to God and told myself, ‘This is my opportunity. I shouldn’t allow Aunty Sola overshadow me. I should let my star shine.’
“Unfortunately for me, in that particular scene, I wasn’t meant to talk at all. I acted the role of her husband’s secretary and was dating her husband. She came to my character’s house to warn her. I was not supposed to say anything but I thought that as an up-and-coming actress, she would just kill my ‘star’ if I didn’t say anything. Guess what I did. I gave myself lines. As she was ranting, I was reacting to her rants. When she held me, I put my hands inside her brassiere. She just told the director to end the scene at that point, asking where they found ‘this kind of girl’.”
