The General Overseer Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Okukoya, has counselled Nigerians not to panic giving them prayers points to combine various steps officially released hygiene and sanitation protocols by the government to contain the dreaded coronavirus.

Olukoya, who disclosed this in a statement by his media office, said, having considered all involved and under the leading of the Holy Spirit, “I urge all Christians and men of faith, irrespective of denomination and religion, to pray the following prayers to receive protection and healing from the virus and other pestilence likely to come this year.”

Quoting from the scriptures: 3 John 1:2, which says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”, Psalm 91:1-16, among others, he advised Nigerians that: “These prayers should be done along with the officially released hygiene and sanitation protocols.

Amongst the 30 prayer points he gave include: “I soak my blood, bones and flesh in the wonder-working power of the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus;” “I barricade my body from every invasion by disease germs, in the name of Jesus;” “Holy Ghost fire, burn all disease deposits in my body to ashes, in Jesus’ name;” and “I render my body undevourable to eaters of flesh and drinkers of blood, in the name of Jesus.”

Coronavirus: MFM shuts churches in Lagos, Ogun, declares 30 days fasting

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM, has shut all its churches in Lagos and Ogun States in a bid to halt the spread of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

The church also declared 30 days prayer and fasting to seek divine intervention against Coronavirus.

A statement issued by the Assistant General Overseer (Administration), Pastor Gbesan Adebambo in the Church’s headquarters at Onike Iwaya, Lagos, said “We write to draw your attention to the directive from the Governments of Lagos and Ogun States, respectively, banning all religious meetings and gatherings of more than fifty worshippers as an urgent measure taken to curtail the wide spread of the global pandemic coronavirus in the aforementioned states.”

The statement said in strict compliance with the government’s directive, no services, including deliverance ministrations must hold in any of MFM branches at all levels in the Region until further notice.

It added that all house fellowship meetings at any of the centres were postponed till further notice.

MFM also said all members were to engage in 30 days personal prayer retreat, beginning from Sunday, 22nd March 2020 to Monday, 20th April 2020 and that the prayer booklet would be made available free.

According to the statement, “Church premises should not be opened to members/worshipers for services. However, Pastors/Ministers must be positioned at the church entrance gates(s) to attend to the uniformed members, anoint them and hand Personal Prayer booklet over to them.

“Members are to be encouraged to hook up to online page on which ministration on video will be streamed live from the International Headquarters covering the period of the interim arrangement, connecting through https:ntainoffire.org/messages. MFM reacts to report of being ‘church with highest single ladies in Nigeria’

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Sunday debunked an online newspaper report that claimed it has the highest number of single ladies among churches in Nigeria.

The church in a statement by Collins Edomaruse, says that the MFM, through its singles ministry, GEN 218, in the last decade, “Has to its credit, over 150,000 weddings that have occured as a result of Gen218 forums.‎”
Quoting the pastor‎ in charge of the programme, Pastor Popoola, GEN 218 offers training, teaching and guidance for bachelors and spinsters within the fold.

He said: “Here at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, our singles ministry, Gen218, is based on the scripture in Genesis 2:18 which states “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him”(NLT).

“It is an exciting and vibrant minstry, attracting singles from all other denominations since its inception. It was established by our Role models, Dr Daniel and Pastor Mrs Shade Olukoya.

“In the last decade, Gen 218 has provided training, teaching and guidance to thousands of single men and women across Nigeria, Africa and all around the world.

“To its credit, over 150,000 weddings have occured as a result of Gen218 forums.

“The false assumption that the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has the largest number of female singles is baseless, erroneous and very misleading.

“The Mountain of Fire and Miracles ministry has a distinctive and well structured youth movement. The youths and young adults of this minstry, under the leadership of the General Overseer, have distinguished themselves as leaders in the fields of academia, music and sports with laurels to back this up.

This fervency spills over into the Gen218 ministry, attracting large numbers of singles to our forums and events.

It is therefore fallacious to assume the Mountain of Fire and Miracles ministries has the largest number of single females. Thousands of weddings hold on a weekly basis, both at regional and branch levels.
“Dr Olukoya and the Mountain of Fire and Miracles ministries have never stated that single men and women within this minstry should only marry within the minstry.

“We encourage and actively support all spinsters and bachelors, regardless of denomination, to build their relationships on biblical standards. We strongly advise all our single men and women to marry fellow believers within the Christian faith who equally believe in Christ’s redemption plan.

“We believe this is God’s will for marriage and is the best foundation for a successful and a Godly marriage.”

MFM’s Bolus sure of win over Plateau Utd

Coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM FC), Tony Bolus, has expressed his team’s willpower to beat league leaders, Plateau United in tomorrow’s encounter in order to stay relevant in this season’s quest for success.

Today’s fixture, a match day 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football League, will hold at the Temple Stadium in Agege, Lagos, with supporters of both clubs rooting for a win to either remain on top of the log or sustain the quest to be among the NPFL’s contenders.

With 15 games played and one outstanding, the Olukoya Boys are on eighth position, after amassing 22 points, having won six matches, suffered six defeats and drawn four. The Abdu Maikaba’s boys, who are topping the league with 28 points, have won eight games, drawn four and lost four.

Speaking to The Guardian yesterday today’s battle, Coach Bolus said his club couldn’t afford to be left behind except by securing the three maximum points.

“I want to believe my boys had taken the top flight league by surprise this season. The owner of the club had expressed worries over the numbers of established players who left MFM and we embarked on recruiting new players who the owner described as ‘rookies’.

“And I told him that the rookies were going to surprise Nigerians, which is actually happening now. Our survival in the league had been through hard work, determination and discipline in the team.

“Every match of the NPFL has been tough, but against Plateau we want to capitalise on the home front to beat them,” he said, adding that a win would give them the impetus to uphold their resolve to win every of their home games henceforth.

Meanwhile, in other games across the country, Lobi Stars, currently second, have the chance to top the league if they beat Nasarawa and Plateau United lose to MFM.

Rivers United who are third will host Wikki Tourists under new coach Usman Abd’Allah today in Port Harcourt, while Heartland will visit Akwa United. Inform Sunshine Stars of Akure will host Kano Pillars, while Adamawa United clash with Kwara United, as Katsina United host FC Ifeanyi Ubah, and Abia Warriors face Warri Wolves in Umuahia.

MFM clarifies position on Christmas celebration

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, MFM has clarified its position on the celebration of Christmas.

The MFM in a statement by Collins Edomaruse, the head of the PR Unit of the church in a statement issued today said,

“With reference to the varied reactions that have been trailing the message of our General Overseer (World-wide), Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, on the celebration of December 25th as Christmas in celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, during the church’s weekly Manna Water service on Dec. 25, 2019, we make the following clarifications…

“Though the foundation of Christmas is idolatry and God hates idolatry with perfect hatred, we will not throw away the baby and the birth water.

We do not condemn those who celebrate.

Jesus is born in us at MFM everyday. His death is our birth certificate.

We will bring out the positive out of the negatives by using all holidays for prayers, conferences seminars and activities.

We will hold seminars, conventions, camp meetings or special teaching services to pray, examine the scriptures and draw positives from the wrong, negative and idolatry practises of the two events: Easter and Christmas.

We will hold special meetings to re-teach, re-emphasise and reappraise the significance of Jesus’ birth, death, cross and resurrection.

  • Celebration of Christmas unbiblical – MFM’s founder, Olukoya cautions Christians

Celebration of Christmas unbiblical – MFM’s founder, Olukoya cautions Christians

General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr Daniel Olukoya, says the church does not celebrate Christmas because it is unbiblical.

Speaking at the Wednesday Manner Water Service which coincided with the 2019 Christmas celebration at the Church’s Headquarters in Lagos, Olukoya says no book in the bible recorded the word ‘ Christmas’ or that Jesus was born on Dec. 25.

“If you really study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, there is no word like Christmas.

“The Bible only recorded that the Shepherds were taking care of their flocks during a very cold season when they sighted the star that announced the birth of Jesus Christ. This cold period could be around April or May,’’ Olukoya said.

According to him, Dec. 25 is a date originally set aside by the ancient Romans for Mars festival by the worshippers of the sun.

Olukoya said that the birth of Christ was subsequently co-opted into the same date to give the Mars festival more popularity and then renamed ‘Christmas’.

He warned the modern Christians to stop promoting such unbiblical celebration.

According to him, the MFM church has decided to henceforth engage members in various spiritual activities during such periods and other public holidays to discourage them from partaking in such unscriptural celebration.

  • MFM suspends member for allegedly defiling, impregnating minor

MFM suspends member for allegedly defiling, impregnating minor

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries on Monday slammed an indefinite suspension on its member David Onyekachukwu, over an indecent relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

In a statement signed by MFM Spokesman, Mr Collins Edomaruse, however, said Onyekachukwu, is “not an ordained Pastor” of the branch in Life Camp area of Abuja,

Edomaruse said the suspension was in line with the rules and regulations of MFM which forbade such acts and frowned at it.

He also said that Onyekachukwu’s indefinite suspension was a result of an investigation carried out by the Church that established that he was culpable of the alleged reported offence of rape, which resulted in the reported pregnancy of the minor.

“Confirming the incident, Regional Overseer (RO) Gwarimpa region of the church, Pastor Babalola Niyi, said: Onyekachukwu is not an ordained pastor in Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

“He is just a member and worker in that Life Camp branch and he has been suspended from the branch immediately.

“The church can not stop the law from taking its course as doing so will amount to condoning evil and being an accessory after the fact,” Edomaruse said.

He added: “After investigation, we confirm that the raping and impregnating of the girl is true and the matter is currently being handled by the police.

“However, we want to say that the alleged person is not an ordained Pastor or an officially appointed Pastor in MFM Gwarimpa Region.

“This is therefore a personal issue between the Brother and the innocent victim.

“It has nothing to do with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

“In MFM, the leadership does not condone indiscipline.

“Absolute holiness within and without is our hallmark in the Ministries.

“This is of a priority in all our trainings and teachings to our Pastors and members.

“The alleged brother is already in the Custody of the Police to allow the law to take its course”.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), reports that the Operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons confirmed the arrest of Onyekachuku a pastor of the MFM, Gwarinpa branch, for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl.

NAPTIP said Onyekachuku, 48, who hails from Nsukka in Enugu State, met the victim, a Junior Secondary School II pupil in the Karmo area sometime in 2018.

NAPTIP in a statement on Sunday, said the pastor, after his arrest and during interrogation, confessed to have sexually abused the girl two times and blamed the act on the “work of the devil.”

  • Police arrest suspected fraudster posing as MFM General Overseer

The police in Lagos said they have arrested a computer science graduate who allegedly defrauded Nigerians by operating a fake facebook account of the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

Spokesman for Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, said in a statement on Thurday that the suspect also used names of other popular clergymen to defraud innocent Nigerians.

According to Elkana, the suspect, one Atanda Yusuf, 27, a graduate of Computer Science from the Ekiti State University, was traced by detectives of the Area D command Mushin, led by the Area Commander, Mr Akinbayo Olasoji, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

He said that the suspect claimed he was into telecommunications business by downloading music and have MTN mobile kits which he used to register sim cards.

“I am also working for Airtel with their registration kit at No 2, Isuti road Igando.

“Everything I am saying is nothing but the truth because there is nothing to hide anymore. I created a Facebook account in Dr Olukoya’s name, which I use to defraud people and I have regretted every bit of my action.

“I also opened facebook page for Redeemed Christian Church of God and Synagogue Church of All Nations, that is TB Joshua Church. I ask people through facebook to pay N1, 000 and get N10, 000 after four days.

“It is like ponzzi scheme where you pay N1, 000 and get N3, 000 and more than 100 people have been paying. I rented a shop at Igando. I rented it for N72, 000. The total sum will be going to about N500, 000. I started late last year, around September or July 2018.

“I had fear in me because I always knew that nothing lasts forever. Initially I used my Diamond bank account before I got Amos account, which is the one I am using. Since I told them to pay N1, 000 and get N3, 000, so if they pay and once it is four days, I block the person’s number on whatsapp, they would not be able to reach me anymore.

“ I slammed my WhatsApp number on the Facebook page. Once you click on the page you will see the number and then contact me. I actually regret every bit of my action and I had decided to stop, in fact, I had a feeling that I was about to be caught.

“Nobody lured me into it; I am in it on my own. I did it all alone, no partner.

“Manacy Amos, the man I use his bank account number to transact the illicit business is a colleague from the factory we were working together, which is Okosupreme Natural Resources Limited. We were in the same department.

“We worked as quality control inspector. After Manacy gained admission, I was still working there before the company had issue, so we shut down. During that period I met him and said a friend of mine is a bricklayer and had issues with his account, that we have not seen any other account to pay money to and he agreed.

“I told him that the bricklayer friend was ready to pay N5, 000 and so he agreed to sell it. He sold his account and gave me his ATM card. That was how I got it,” he confessed to the police

The suspect further confessed that the man of God he used his name most for the scam was Dr Olukoya because he watched his programme so much on television and people would respond faster to his call.

“I kept posting their normal church activities. I developed interest on Dr Olukoya because I loved him so much,” the suspect told the police during interrogation.
Elkana said that the suspect had been on police wanted list for over three months now, stressing that he was arrested following a tip off.
He said he would soon be charged to court for fraud.
