Why Harry Kane should not go to Bayern Munich – Michael Owen

Former England international Michael Owen has strongly advised his compatriot Harry Kane against a move to German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

“I know [Bayern Munich] are a massive club and I have huge respect for them, but if I were [Kane] I’d stay put. There’s no great achievement in winning a trophy with them,” Owen tweeted.

“Becoming the all-time Premier League top goal scorer… is a bigger achievement than winning the league in a country dominated by one team,” the 43-year-old wrote.

Bayern Munich are six-time European champions and have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles.

Owen said in contrast, he could understand Kane moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid or one of the top clubs in the English Premier League.

Kane is with a total of 213 goals and the second highest scorer behind Alan Shearer (260) in the eternal list of top Premier League scorers.

He is the Munich club’s most desired transfer.

After months of speculation, a breakthrough was reportedly achieved late on Thursday.

According to media reports, Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur and their club boss Daniel Levy on a transfer of the English record-breaking goalscorer.

The London club is widely reported to have accepted an offer of more than 100 million euros (110 million dollars) from Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

According to online sports outlet “The Athletic,” Kane is also standing by his commitment and is working on the details of an agreement with the club.

EPL: Liverpool legend, Owen hails two-goal hero Awoniyi

Liverpool legend, Michael Owen  has heaped praises on Nigerian striker, Taiwo Awoniyi after he scored two goals to propel Nottingham Forest to a 4-3 win against Southampton in a relegation dug fight on Monday night in the English Premier League.

Awoniyi’s brace is his first for the club all through the season.

The Nigeria international’s two goals came within three minutes in the first half.

The striker opened the scoring for Forest in the 18th minute, finishing off a brilliant counter-attacking move before volleying home the second few minutes after.

Owen highlighted the qualities that make the former Union Berlin player dangerous to play against.

“You see the goalscorer, I’m not going to try to pronounce his name (Awoniyi). He’s scoring goals, he’s got pace, he can finish like he did with the first one, and then he gets back to goal as well,” Owen told Premier League Productions.

“He’s equally as dangerous as that, so very hard to play against because a lot of players that maybe haven’t got pace, you can try to squeeze them outside the box.”

Awoniyi has scored six goals and provided one assist in 24 appearances for Nottingham Forest this season.

EPL: Owen predicts two teams that will fight for the title

Former Liverpool striker, Michael Owen has tipped the Reds  to challenge Manchester City for the title again this season despite the club’s  poor run of form so far in the new season.

Owen made this prediction after Liverpool’s 2-1 over Ajax in Tuesday night champions league encounter.

Liverpool pushed champions Manchester City all the way in 2021-2022, only missing out on the top spot by a point after a dramatic final day.

However, after six matches of the new season, the Reds are already five points behind Pep Guardiola’s side and six behind early leaders Arsenal.

Owen said the Reds will bounce back and push Manchester City to the Limit in this season’s pursuit of English Premier League title.

“They have had an average start,” Owen said on BT Sport. “In the league, you don’t want to be giving Manchester City a head start, but it is nothing they cannot recover from.

“You don’t turn into a bad team overnight. They will be back but need to do it before teams get away from them.”

Liverpool are currently occupying the 7th position on the English Premier League log and five points behind Manchester City who are occupying the second position.

  • Owen predicts winner of Liverpool vs Real Madrid UCL final

Former 3 Lions of England ,Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen has predicted the Correct Score of Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final between both teams.

Liverpool and Real Madrid square up against eachother in this year’s final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday,May 28th in Paris, France.

Jurgen Klopp’s side head to the game after eliminating Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final stage, while Real Madrid knocked Manchester City out of the competition.

Owen who  has played for both sides has  given his expert prediction from the pundits point of view  in an interview with Betvictor

“For Liverpool, it was not quite enough to win the league on Sunday. A cup treble would still be a brilliant season for the club. The only worry entering this game is the injury doubts in midfield, if Klopp can get most of the first 11 fully fit, I really fancy Liverpool’s chances.

“Real have done brilliantly to reach this final, but I am not sure they should have got this far. They have produced some improbable comebacks at the Bernabeu, I don’t think they will be able to do likewise on a neutral ground.

“I think Liverpool will have too much energy, pace and quality for this Real side. I will never write Real off, but I think Liverpool will score a few against what can be a suspect defence. 3-1 is my prediction.”
