After defeat: Mike Tyson confesses says”I almost died” narrates life threatening experience before fight

Former World Heavyweight Champion, Mike Tyson, has opened up about how he nearly lost his life before his bout with Jake Paul.

In his narration, he stated that his condition was critical to the extent that he had to be given eight blood transfusions after losing half of his blood while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The legendary boxer indicated that he does not regret fighting Jake Paul, who is in his youthful age, and losing the bout in the eighth round is a feat to be proud of.

Tyson expressed his appreciation to his family and loved ones who supported him during the bout and even sent him words of encouragement after the defeat.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in the ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25 lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for,” Tyson wrote on X after losing to Jake Paul.

Social media influencer-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision in their highly anticipated professional bout in Arlington, Texas.

Fighting in front of 72,300 fans at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, Paul controlled most of the fight against Tyson, winning via unanimous decision to become the sixth fighter to defeat the former heavyweight champion in his career.

With the victory, Paul improves to 11-1 in his professional career, including seven knockouts, further cementing himself as a valid competitor in the sport.

  • Again, Iron Mike Tyson accused of rape

Again, Iron Mike Tyson accused of rape

Former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson has been accused by a woman in New York for raping her in a limousine in the early 1990s.

The woman has filed a lawsuit against Iron Mike Tyson.

However, the woman, who asked the court to remain anonymous, filed her complaint in early January under a temporary New York state law allowing victims of sexual assault to seek civil damages regardless of the statute of limitations.

Tyson spent three years in jail beginning in 1992 after being found guilty of raping model Desiree Washington, who was 18 at the time.

In a short affidavit dated December 23, 2022, the plaintiff states that she met the boxer at a nightclub “in the early 1990s,” and then followed him into his limousine, where he allegedly assaulted her before raping her.

“As a result of Tyson’s rape, I suffered and continue to suffer from physical, psychological and emotional injury,” she said.

She is seeking $5 million in damages.

However, Iron Mike Tyson is yet to issue a statement concerning the allegations against him.

Born in Brooklyn in 1966, Tyson had a turbulent childhood before becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion in the 1980s, terrifying his opponents with his fury in the ring and phenomenal punching power.

But after his prison sentence, he could not retain his titles.

In a notorious 1996 matchup, Tyson bit off a piece of his opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear.

Gripped by depression and addiction, he continued to make headlines, notably for a one-man show in which he described his life’s many ups and downs.

He has recently launched into the cannabis industry with his own brand of marijuana products and hosts a podcast.

  • Mike Tyson predicts winner of Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Mike Tyson predicts winner of Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Legendary boxer, Mike Tyson believes that heavyweight boxer, Oleksandr Usyk will defeat Anthony Joshua in their forthcoming rematch taking place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.

The two-time heavyweight champion is set to face the Ukrainian for a second time live on talkSPORT on Saturday as he attempts to win back the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight world titles that he lost to him last year September.

Many boxing analysts and fans have posited that the rematch will be very difficult for Anthony Joshua to win considering his opponent.

Usyk won the first fight impressively across all rounds, but Joshua has changed his entire training team to try and reverse the result.

“It’s gonna be hard to beat him,” Tyson said on Instagram live.

Mike Tyson advised Joshua to deal with Usyk’s jab and also keep the pressure on if he hopes to come away with a favourable result.

“It’s gonna be hard to beat Usyk because he’s fast and he outpunched Joshua with his jab. Joshua has to learn to deal with his jab.

“He’s too fast for Joshua. Joshua has to put a lot of pressure on him and keep it on him all night.

“He’s a powerful puncher, but he’s not as accurate – you’ve gotta be accurate against a guy like that.

“Because he moves so much, the jab is educated and he just outsmarts the guy.”

The much-anticipated rematch between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk will take place in Saudi Arabia on August 20, 2022.

  • Mike Tyson cleared of charges for punching plane passenger

Mike Tyson cleared of charges for punching plane passenger

Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will not face criminal charges after punching a man multiple times before a flight out of San Francisco last month.
The announcement came on Tuesday following an investigation by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

It says the circumstances preceding the April 20 confrontation led to the decision.

“The circumstances include the conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr Tyson that no charges be filed in the case,” District Attorney Stephen M Wagstaffe said.

“We now deem this case to be closed.”

Video of the altercation published last month appears to show Tyson repeatedly hitting a passenger in the seat behind him on a plane.

The incident occurred prior to the flight’s departure out of San Francisco International Airport, the district attorney said.

In a statement last month, representatives for Tyson described the passenger as “aggressive,” saying he “began harassing (Tyson) and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat.”

The district attorney’s office says it looked at footage taken by other passengers during its investigation.

It also reviewed incident reports from the San Francisco Police Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

The reports said the victim had been drinking and “appeared to be intoxicated,” the district attorney said.

The victim shared “minimal details of the incident” with the officers who responded to the scene that day.

He was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, the San Francisco Police Department said last month.

Police confirmed two people were detained.

The Brooklyn-born 55-year-old Tyson, who retired from boxing in 2005, returned in 2020 for an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr.

  • Mike Tyson reveals reasons Anthony Joshua stands no chance against Fury

Mike Tyson reveals reasons Anthony Joshua stands no chance against Fury

Former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, has said Anthony Joshua may not stand a chance against Tyson Fury, the WBC and Lineal heavyweight champion.

“Let’s keep it honest, maybe he [Joshua] punches harder than Wilder but he doesn’t punch faster. If he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder he’s not gonna punch this guy [Fury].

Joshua, the British-Nigerian unified champion, is set to fight Fury later this year after the pair signed a £200 million two-bout deal last week.

In an interview with Haute Living, Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990, explained why he thinks Fury will beat Joshua.

He said Joshua would not land a punch against Fury, as he described the latter as ‘elusive’.

Iron Mike attributed this to Joshua’s method of throwing punches saying ‘he doesn’t punch faster’.

“Listen, I love Anthony Joshua but I really think Tyson is too elusive, he’s not going to hit him,” the Brooklyn-born boxer said.

“Let’s keep it honest, maybe he punches harder than Wilder but he doesn’t punch faster. If he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder he’s not gonna punch this guy [Fury].

“He punches hard but he doesn’t punch fast, and if Tyson Fury can get away from Wilder’s fast punches Joshua might be in trouble.”

Tyson recently came out of retirement to fight an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. in November last year.

In the interview, he added that he would be fighting Evander Holyfield, his former nemesis, in another exhibition match on May 29.

“I just want everybody to know, the fight is on with me and Holyfield. Holyfield’s a humble man, I know that. And he’s a man of God, but I’m God’s man. And, listen, I’m going to be successful on May 29th,” he said.

Tyson had previously fought Holyfield twice but lost on both occasions.

  • Tyson return to boxing ring ends in surprising draw

Tyson return to boxing ring ends in surprising draw

Mike Tyson showed age has not robbed him of his power as the former heavyweight champion, in his long-awaited return to the ring, dominated Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition fight on Saturday in Los Angeles that was surprisingly ruled a draw.

While there were no ringside judges to score the eight-round contest between two of boxing’s all-time greats, both over 50, and no official winner, the World Boxing Council formed a set of judges that remotely scored the bout.

“I’m used to doing it for three minutes,” 54-year-old Tyson said of the shorter rounds. “Sometimes, that two minutes felt like three minutes. I’m happy I got this under my belt to keep doing this and go further.”

Tyson, 15 years removed from his ignominious defeat to Irishman Kevin McBride in the last professional fight of his career, came out firing and was in control of the bout the entire way.

Jones Jr, 51, was the more visibly fatigued of the two fighters, but managed to pick up the pace in the later rounds enough to earn the win on one scorecard and a draw on the other while Tyson took the third scorecard.

When the final bell rang, the two fighters shared a hug.

“The body shots definitely took a toll,” said Jones Jr. a former world champion in four different weight classes whose last professional fight was in 2018.

“The body shots are what make you exhausted.”

The two boxers were introduced by legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer, who delivered his famous “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” inside the Staples Centre which was devoid of fans given the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the fight Tyson, who was once the most feared fighter on the planet, shot down any idea of making a return to professional boxing.

“This is bigger than fighting and winning the championship,” Tyson said of exhibitions where he donates earnings to charity. “We’re humanitarians and we’re helping people.”

  • Mike Tyson returns to boxing ring in September after 15 years in retirement

Mike Tyson returns to boxing ring in September after 15 years in retirement

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is returning to the boxing ring in September.

Tyson, 54, will fight 51 year-old Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition match on Sept. 12 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Jones Jr was one of the most dominant fighters of the 90s and early 2000s.

He was a former world titleholder in four different weight classes.

While Tyson hasn’t fought since 2005, Jones Jr. boxed in 2018.

According to Yahoo Sports columnist Kevin Iole, Tyson has reserved the facility for that date.

Iole quoted a California State Athletic Commission official who said that he’d recently met with Tyson and Jones about the specifics of the bout—which will be fought without headgear, but with larger-than-normal 12-ounce gloves.

Triller, the virtual social media and music platform, which will stream the fight said the eight-round bout will be part of a three-hour pay per view event.

Triller has also obtained streaming rights to a 10-part docuseries featuring behind-the-scenes, pre-fight footage leading up to the bout.

The program will also include a “significant” undercard as well as musical performances.

Tyson teased fans about a possible return to the ring in May when he posted videos of himself training.

One video showed Tyson, the first heavyweight to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, hitting the pads with ferocious power before signing off with the message “I’m back”.

Tyson later said he was interested in returning to the ring to raise money for charity and potential opponents immediately began to line up for a crack at the fighter known as “Iron Mike”.

Old rival Evander Holyfield and New Zealand rugby great Sonny Bill Williams were among those reported to be in line for the fight before Jones Jr. was chosen.

Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion of all time when he defeated Trevor Berbick in 1986 aged 20.

He won 50 of his 58 professional fights before retiring in 2005 after a loss to Kevin McBride.

  • Tyson, Holyfield close to third fight

Tyson, Holyfield close to third fight

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield are negotiating a potential third fight for charity, after Iron Mike teased a return to the ring on social media.

Evander Holyfield has revealed he is in negotiations with former rival Mike Tyson over a trilogy bout and the pair are close to agreeing a deal.

Tyson has been teasing a comeback on social media over the past month and has said he would be open to fighting in four round exhibition bouts for charity.

Holyfield, who famously had part of his ear bitten off by Tyson in their 1997 rematch, had also been pondering a comeback and is hoping to fight Iron Mike in a charity exhibition for his foundation.

Holyfield said: “His people have been talking to my people and we haven’t yet got a solid deal together, but it’s coming that way.

“If it happens, then that’s no problem. The thing is, he was doing something and I was doing something.

When I told people about it, they saw me working out and they kind of put two and two together.

“They must be coming together to do this. But the fact of the matter is, I don’t mind if we do something like this.

  • Mike Tyson identifies Fury, Wilder Andy Ruiz; omits Joshua in list of top five boxers

Mike Tyson identifies Fury, Wilder Andy Ruiz; omits Joshua in list of top five boxers

Mike Tyson named Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in his top five favourite current boxers but didn’t include two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Fury, who recently claimed the WBC heavyweight title in a rematch with Wilder, has always earned the respect from Tyson since his comeback in 2018 and the former American heavyweight said he ‘respects’ the Gypsy King. However, he did not mention Fury’s next potential opponent and rival heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua when listing his favourite current fighters.

‘I respect Tyson Fury, I respect Deontay Wilder, I respect all of those guys,’ Tyson explained on his own podcast, Hotboxin’.

Andy Ruiz also, this guy named (Vasyl) Lomachenko – he’s a f****** animal, man. He’s a master, it’s like he’s dancing.

‘There’s also Gervonta Davis, there’s quite a few guys that are good fighters.’

Tyson went on to explain that boxing has become a very ‘political’ sport and complained that the promoters are not allowing the best to enter the ring against each other and give the fans the bouts they want to see.

He added: ‘The situation is whether they will fight each other. Promoters are not allowing them to fight each other. I’d love to see them fight each other but the promoters don’t want to do it.’

‘It (boxing) is very political now. That’s why I think in the next couple months or so you’re going to find that there are some new players in the game and it’s going to get really serious.’

Tyson is preparing for a sensational return to the ring at 53 years old, after he mentioned he would like to make a comeback for charity.
