    Adeshina Adesanya a.k.a Pastor Ajidara

    Yoruba actor and Chairman of the Theatre and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Ogun State branch, Adeshina Adesanya, died on May 8th. He passed on days after it was reported that he had kidney failure. He died at the age of 63. He has acted in movies like ‘Abela Pupa’ (Red Candle) being one of the works that made him popular. Adesanya acted in movies such as: “Agbeku abela” (2009) and “Ologbo Iya Ijebu” (2007).

    Talented actress, Moji Olaiya died in the early hours of Thursday, 18th of May at her base in Canada following reported complication after her childbirth.Sadness and shock hit many of her fans and loved ones when they heard of her death . Olaiya, who was a daughter of highlife veteran, Sir Victor Olaiya, died at the age of 42.

    Moji Olaiya, who was popular for her roles in “No Pains No Gain,” “Nkan Adun” and “Agunbaniro” has reportedly passed away.

    Born February 27, 1975, the actress who welcomed a baby in March 2017, passed away in Canada.

    Moji passed away in a hospital in Canada.. It was said that her cause of death could be linked to complications that arose from her child birth in March. It is also possible that the actress would be buried in Canada where she passed on.

    Meanwhile, the last image of the deceased in hospital bed has emerged.

    At the moment, her Instagram account @mojisolaabikeade, where she had 240,000 followers, has been inundated with messages of lamentations and condolences by her fans.

    In his reaction, veteran actor Yinka Quadri, said that her death would rob the industry of a talented actress and expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.

    Yomi Fash-Lanso, the Director of Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), confirmed the death of Moji Olaiya in a statement.

    Fash-Lanso said:“It is with a heavy heart and sad disposition to hear about the sudden death of our colleague; friend and sister, Moji Olaiya, who’s death occurred few hours ago in Canada, few days after giving birth.

    “According to reports that we gathered, we learnt she had heart seizure and couldn’t make it.’’

    Details have emerged on how late actress, Moji Olaiya died. The looks on the faces of those who visited her Magodo Lagos residence depicts sadness and distress.

    Speaking with TheNetng, her elder brother Otunba Olaiya said Moji’s death was most unexpected. In his words: “When I spoke to her a few days ago, she did not give signs of death. She never complained about anything. This is really heartbreaking’, he said.

    In the same vein, a certain Mrs Keji who said she worked as her housekeeper said in the last three days before she passed away; the actress had placed several calls from her base in Canada to complain of ‘being uncomfortable’.

    According to her: “Her baby was born premature- her EDD was for May 2017 but complications arose that necessitated that she be induced to save the baby’s life as well as hers. But since the delivery in March, her health had not been exactly perfect”.

    She further revealed that around 10pm local time (3am Nigerian time) she went into a crisis. ‘Her blood pressure shot up and she got unconscious. An ambulance was called to transport her to the hospital. But her case worsened and she gave up the ghost before she could make it to the hospital. Moji could not say goodbye to us, she didn’t let us hold her baby, where will her mother start from? Her death came too early, I believe this was not ordinary. This looks like a spiritual attack “she said

    Her infant daughter is said to be in care of her friend whom she was staying with in Canada. However no one knows what will happen to the baby as Olaiya’s relationship with the father of the child, simply called ‘Mr Femi’ is obscure as there are speculations that he is still married to someone else.

    20-year-old daughter of deceased actress , Moji Olaiya who died in Canada, Adun insists that her mother’s corpse be brought back for burial in Nigeria.

    Though family members her comforting and calming her down, the young lady kept saying she wants to see her mother.According to her: “She must be brought back,I don’t care what anybody says, I just want my mother’s body” she lamented.

    The burial arrangement of Moji Olaiya is causing an unanticipated rift within the family. Though the deceased actress was born into a Christian family, she converted from Christianity to Islam. Certain members of her family are insisting that she be interred today according to Muslim rites.

    Burying her the same day will be expensive because interments are costly in developed countries. There is no feasible plan for her burial as at this time.

    Popular actor, Femi Branch took to his Instagram page recounting how Moji Olaiya rose in his defence when she was alive.

    According to him:”We were just mere colleagues until the day we had a certain discussion in Sagamu with Aunty Fali Werepe and you rose in my defense. I have recounted this tale to more people than I can recall and in every instance, the mention of ur sincere intervention was the highlight of my tale. That day I knew the good hearted Moji Olaiya and for as long as I have the gift of memory, that is the Mojisola Olaiya that will remain embedded in my heart. Sleep well MJ, may God erect a canopy of protection over ur children and the family u just left behind. (Lord pls stay this hand of death moving over our industry and pls open our eyes to know that life belongs to you and only you can give it in abundance) Amen.”

    Following the sudden death of beautiful Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya early Thursday morning, veterans in the industry have started reacting to the painful exit.

    They said that her death would rub the industry of a talented actress while they expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that Moji Olaiya , 42, was born on Feb. 27, 1975 and died in the early hours of Thursday at a hospital in Canada.

    Yomi Fash-Lanso, the Director of Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) confirmed the death of Moji Olaiya in a statement.

    Fash-Lanso said ,“It is with a heavy heart and sad disposition to hear about the sudden death of our colleague; friend and sister, Moji Olaiya, who’s death occurred few hours ago in Canada, few days after giving birth.

    “According to reports that we gathered, we learnt she had heart seizure and couldn’t make it.’’

    He enjoined all members of TAMPAN and friends to be calm as the association awaited further reports.

    “We pray her soul finds eternal rest with her creator and pray to Almighty Allah to bear the family she left behind the fortitude to bear this great irreparable lost,’’ the statement said.

    Yinka Quadri, a veteran actor, in his reactions wondered what was happening to Nollywood at present.

    “What is really happening, why are our dearest ones going too soon? It so sad to hear Moji Olaiya is no more.

    “May her soul rest in perfect peace. May God be with those she left behind,’’ he said.

    Also,Emeka Ibeh, President, Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), prayed God to grant the family Moji Olaiya left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

    Ibeh said that the actress would continue to live on in the memories of her fans because of her contributions to the development of Nollywood.

    “In her little way, she contributed to the development of Nollywood and she will be greatly missed by her fans.

    “I pray that God grants her family members the strength to bear this loss at a time like this,’’ he said.

    Ibeh urged other thespians in the country to continue to impact positively on the entertainment industry saying that their good works would definitely live-on after them.

    Also, Tope Babayemi, the founder, Different Aesthetics, Arts and Culture Management based at the National Theatre , Lagos, condoled with the family of the deceased.

    Babayemi said that the entertainment industry had lost another bright talent that had contributed greatly to the popularity of the local movies.

    Actor Femi Branch recalled , “We were just mere colleagues until the day we had a certain discussion in Sagamu with Aunty `Fali Werepe` and you rose in my defence.

    Also, Actress Funke Adesiyan said, “Days like today should not exist. I refuse to believe the news of your untimely demise.

    “I still don’t get why good people don’t last. You were a true soul.

    “Beautiful in and out with absolutely no space in your heart to hate or pretend to love.

    “You were so genuine. May Allah rest your soul and give your family the fortitude to bear this loss. It’s a sad day,’’ she said.

    Sunday Esan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Okiki Films said, “I’m currently in a state of grief and shock.

    “Is it true that Moji Olaiya is gone? My good friend is no more; I will miss her personality, talent and humility.’’

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the late Moji Olaiya was the daughter of highlife musician, Victor Olaiya.

    She began her acting career with Wale Adenuga Production (WAP), starring in the popular family TV drama series, Super Story, where she played the role of Ireti in “No Pains, No Gains”.

    She also starred in other movies such as: “Agunbaniro”, “Sade Blade” , “Nkan Adun’’ and “Omo iya meta leyi”.

    Moji received awards for her diligence in Nigeria and abroad. She was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress of the Year 2003 for the Reel Award.

    Moji also won the Best New Actress award and she said then that such awards were always motivating her to put in her best in any roles assigned her during movie productions.
