I won’t work with Pinto again – Mourinho

Sacked Roma coach Jose Mourinho says he’ll never work with Tiago Pinto again.

Pinto left Roma as sporting director a month after Mourinho’s dismissal.

“Interviews with Mr Tiago Pinto, honestly, I won’t waste a second of my time reading or listening to it, I have no interest at all in what he has to say,” Mourinho said at the Portuguese MotoGP.

“What you say he tells me, it makes no difference. I have no interest at all.”

Asked if he’d work with Pinto again, he said: “No, certainly not. Sometimes things lead us to think they are possible, but in this case, it is definitely not possible.”

Jose Mourinho takes swipe at former club

Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at former club Chelsea.

The Portuguese has been in Saudi Arabia for the local Grand Prix this weekend.

He bumped into a Chelsea fan while attending and was asked about returning to Stamford Bridge for a third spell in charge.

The fan said: “Hello Jose, Chelsea fans love you very much from all over the world hope you return to Chelsea.”

The Sun says in response, Mourinho said: “Thank you my friend, but Chelsea is not the Chelsea we know.”

‘Someone who knows little about football’ – Mourinho slams Roma owner

Football manager Jose Mourinho has taken a swipe at Roma owner Dan Friedkin.

The Portuguese was sacked by Friedkin last month and replaced by Daniele De Rossi.

Speaking as an ambassador for Football.com, Mourinho said: “The European competitions are about to begin, in particular the Champions League, perhaps the most important competition on the world calendar.

“I won’t be there at these final phases, not because I have already been eliminated, but because I was ‘eliminated’ by someone who knows little about football.

“That’s life, full of ups and downs, and I’m growing, despite the unexpected and unfair dismissal.

“But I’ll be back, and with even more enthusiasm and confidence, for these UEFA matches.”

  • Mourinho would like to coach Napoli – Moratti

Mourinho would like to coach Napoli – Moratti

Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti can see Jose Mourinho taking charge of Napoli.

After his dismissal by Roma last week, Mourinho has been linked with Al Shabab and Napoli.

Moratti, who won the Treble with Mourinho at Inter, told Radio Kiss Kiss: “I don’t know, he would drive all the fans crazy, he always brings enthusiasm and hope.

“He would like to coach Napoli because they are an important club and have an important project.

“(Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis? I don’t know him very well, I couldn’t say if he would get along well with Mourinho. His specialty is being a serious professional, he knows everything about his team, he is a great football fan. Communication? He studies it and has studied it.”

  • Mourinho lived like an emperor in Rome – Scarnecchia defends Roma sack

Mourinho lived like an emperor in Rome – Scarnecchia defends Roma sack

Former Roma star Roberto Scarnecchia feels it was the right time to dismiss Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was axed and replaced by Daniele de Rossi last week.

Scarnecchia told TMW Radio: “Mourinho arrived with many good intentions, then at a certain point he began to be a manager and no longer a coach and he lost sight of the pitch and the players.

“He began to make declarations beyond all limits, he pulled the string too much and the string breaks even if your name is Mourinho. The club, after too many negative results, was waiting for him to lose consensus with the fans and after the derby and the match against Milan the fans began to divide and the club decided to sack him.

“I think there was only Saudi Arabia, I don’t think Mou had offers in Europe. This is the reason for the coach’s many appeals to the club. Probably after Roma he understood that perhaps in Arabia he would not live as an emperor like in Rome, where he could do everything.”

  • Jose Mourinho offered to Serie A club

Jose Mourinho offered to Serie A club

Agent Jorge Mendes has offered Jose Mourinho to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

Sportmediaset says just hours after Mourinho’s dismissal, his agent Mendes was on the phone to De Laurentiis to raise the prospect of the Special One moving to the Maradona this summer.

ADL didn’t dismiss the idea, but explained he was totally focused on the January market and won’t considering Napoli’s coaching position until next month at the earliest.

Walter Mazzarri is tied to Napoli until June and ADL is happy to stick with the veteran coach until then.

The one stumbling block to Mourinho landing in Naples is his €7m-a-year wage demands – which De Laurentiis would be unprepared to match.

  • Serie A: We’ll fight for fourth place – Mourinho

Serie A: We’ll fight for fourth place – Mourinho

Roma manager Jose Mourinho says they’re in a solid position for the Christmas break.

Victory over Napoli sees Roma sitting in sixth place on the Serie A table.

Mourinho said: “I prefer to set my own objectives, which is take it one game at a time. There is a very simple reason for that. It is not a criticism, it is nobody’s fault, but we have a group of players with a difficult medical history. If we are all ready, I have no problem saying we can fight it out with everyone – not for the Scudetto, obviously – but for fourth place.

“Unfortunately, we have these difficulties. There is also the Financial Fair Play situation that is tough to deal with. So I don’t like to talk about objectives. We are united, it is an extraordinary group of lads who always try to help each other out.

“What we wanted to do in January on the transfer market is not something that we can do, but we go forward. We’ll see. We won against Napoli and next we have Juventus.”

I told Man Utd to get rid of some players – Mourinho

AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho says there’s still players at Manchester United he told to get rid of.

    Mourinho left United in 2018.

On John Obi Mikel’s ‘Obi One’ podcast, he said: “There are still people in that club, and when I say people I mean some players.

“But also some other people that are not players, that are still there when I told [United] after two months: With these people, you are never going to do it [be successful].

    “And they are still there.”

Mourinho, however, did not name names.

‘I am a Mourinhista’ – Ancelotti hails Mourinho

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has paid tribute to Jose Mourinho.

The AS Roma boss has stated Ancelotti would be “mad” to leave Real Madrid next year.

He told Dsport: “Listen to Mourinho. If he is an Ancelottista, I am a Mourinhista. We have a great relationship. We also have a bond with Roma, I was captain and I have fantastic memories of that time.

“I quite agree with him, only a crazy person would want to leave Madrid.”

Ancelotti also said: “I feel very good at Real Madrid. Whatever has to happen will happen in the future. I’m not in any hurry, I’m very happy and focused on the games we have to play and try to do the best we can.”

  • Mourinho explains leaving Inter Milan for Real Madrid

Mourinho explains leaving Inter Milan for Real Madrid

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has explained why he left Inter Milan for Real Madrid in 2010.

Mourinho quit Inter immediately after leading them to the Treble.

He recalled to Sport Italia: “I’m always very honest with others and with myself. I could have gone to Real Madrid after my first season with Inter, but I had signed to stay more than a year. I had an incredible relationship, not only with the president, but also with his wife and children.

“I went to Moratti’s house at the end of the first season and we came to the conclusion that I would stay one more year. It wasn’t victory or defeat in the Champions League final that would’ve decided my life, I already knew what I was going to do, and I wanted to go to Real Madrid.

“The opportunity came for the second time and I wanted to go, it was a moment in my career where I told myself I had to. They’re the biggest club in the world, there is no history, but I had that thing of winning the Serie A title.

“Beyond winning or not winning the Champions League, there was a basic job that would have gone to another coach, everything was perfect.

“It would have been more comfortable for me to stay at Inter instead of competing with Barcelona, I would have won another easy Scudetto, we would have gone on to become Club World Champions but it wouldn’t have meant anything to me.

“The smart players already knew what I was going to decide, after the Champions League final I didn’t go back to Milan because I was afraid that emotions would change, and I would never go to Real Madrid again.

“I refused to sign the contract with Real Madrid before the final against Bayern Munich, but I was afraid to go back to Milan because of the emotions.”
