    2023 Elections: Late arrival of INEC officials mars polls in Mowe-Ibafo

    Electorates in the Mowe-Ibafo, Magboro, Arepo axis of Obafemi Owode Local Government area have lamented the late arrival of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC’s officials to Polling units in the area.

    Checks show that INEC officials arrived late at all polling Center in Arepo and the environs.

    The residents of Arepo have already besieged the polling units in the area before INEC officials started arriving around 11:30 am.

    Checks also show that INEC officials didn’t arrive at various polling units at the Magboro and Ibafo areas of Obafemi Owode Local Government.

    Voting began immediately in these areas but INEC’s late arrival had already slowed down the pace.

    However, voting has turned out to be peaceful in all areas monitored by TheNewsGuru in Lagos.

    Normalcy has returned to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway after rioters blocked and set bonfire on the highway to prevent motorists from plying it.

    Many travelers were stuck for close to 6 hours at the Magboro-end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as a result of the blocking of the highway  by rioters protesting the unavailability of cash.

    Youths of the area also seized the opportunity to play football on the road while others were seen in little gatherings discussing the problems of unavailability of cash.

    However, the police in conjunction of an area boy in Ibafo knowa as Ese came to disperse the crowd there freeing the road for motorists to ply them.

    Two persons feared killed as cultists clash in Ogun community

    Two persons were reportedly killed in a cult clash that happened in the Mowe-Ofada axis of Obafemi Owode Local Government of Ogun state TheNewsGuru.com can exclusively confirm.

    The Ogun police PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the violence in the community

    It was gathered that the violence started late on Thursday and continued early hours of Friday.

    Oyeyemi mentioned that the violence was caused by a clash between two cult rival groups in the community.

    “We have arrested a suspect in relation to the violence.”

    Eyewitnesses said that many traders and shop owners were scared to open their shops.

    One of them, said, “A dead corpse was found around the Mowe area on Friday morning. We are being careful. Many of us are yet to open our shops. Everywhere is scanty.”

    Another trader at Mowe said, ” The boys are fighting. Police came to send them away but we have not started selling. Everywhere is scanty.

    “They started the fight yesterday evening and continued this morning. Two people were killed at Adesan and Onibode junction.”

    Another resident said ”Mowe bus stop boiling at the moment. A young boy was killed few hours ago and dumped along the road beside Aje Onibode.Boys suspected to be cultist fighting dirty now at the Bus stop”
