    Nigerian singer, Mr2kay who is currently promoting his album, Elevate has said he is not a fan of Nigerian OAP, Daddy Freeze known for his caustic views on the payments of tithe

    Recall that the controversial media personality recently condemned the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, over his preaching on ‘Tithing and Curses’.

    In a recent chat with Hip TV, Mr2kay boldly stated that he doesn’t support the views of Daddy Freeze.

    According to him: ”I am not religious, I am a believer. I am not a fan of Daddy Freeze, Daddy Freeze is a fan of himself. I am against him. He is talking down on the kingdom of God. I am against him”.

    Recall that Mr2kay through his manager Silas, Mr. 2Kay disclosed in a interview that Burna Boy’s threat was sequel to his caution on the former’s attack on Pastors.

    He said: “The arrested suspects confessed that Burna Boy contracted them through a third party to teach Mr. 2Kay a lesson because he granted HipTV an interview, where he corrected Burna Boy for saying negative things about Nigerian pastors”.

  • Mr2kay slams ex-lover Gifty ,in new song

    There seem to be no end to the rift between Mr2kay and his ex –girlfriend, Gifty.

     

    Recall that Mr2kay had said in several interviews that he was instrumental to her success. However Gifty denied on several occasions saying:” I want to clear the air on what was said. God Almighty alone made me who I am today. Many years ago after my step-dad passed away, God gave me the kind of strength that I had never felt before in my life. He shamed those who thought I wouldn’t make it in life”.

     

    Their love affair which was supposed to blossom after Gifty participated in BBNaija , crashed.

    Mr2kay who recently released an album called ‘Elevated’ has revisited the issue in one of the tracks on the album.

    In the song, Mr 2kay sang: ‘If you no love me, no love my money/ the guy carry her matter for head o/ them two begin to live together o/ like play, like play, she con turn public figure o/ but still on still, the guy still dey love am o/ but she dey give am lamba, plenty lamba/ dem go dey ask am of my guy, she go say she’s single/.

  • Burna Boy has called me to apologize- Mr 2kay

    It is no longer news that Mr 2kay was robbed at Eko Hotel and Suites after his performance at 2face’s Buckwyld and Breathless Concert held months back.

     

    After investigations, the suspects were caught and Burna Boy was fingered as the mastermind of the attack on his colleague, Mr 2kay

     

    Speaking in a chat with Punch, Mr 2kay said Burna Boy apologized to him without admitting that he was involved in the assault on him.

     

    Hear him: “ What I said was that Burna Boy has called me and he apologized without admitting that he was involved in the assault on me. He told me that he had no hand in it. I had to reply him that I never fingered him; it was his manager and the boys that fingered him. All we need is honesty and the truth. He cannot apologize to me over a matter that he has no hand in.

     

    At the end of the day, we all want this issue to go with this year and start the New Year on a fresh note. I was supposed to release my album this year but we could not do so because of this whole issue.

     

    “Next year should be a very busy one for me and I don’t want to spend my time at a police station or pay numerous visits to the commissioner of police. I just want to have peace. Burna Boy is still my brother any day and I have forgiven him but what we want is the truth. If he calls me and opens up, we have said that we would settle it out of court. It is possible for us to have a song together in the future if he wants it because he is my brother. I swear with my life that I hold nothing against Burna Boy,” he revealed.

  • Burna Boy concert postponed over alleged attack on Mr 2kay

    Burna Boy’s much anticipated concert scheduled to hold during the weekend has been postponed.The promoters of the concert, Bavent Street Live have said the singer’s alleged involvement in a robbery attack on fellow artiste Mr 2kay resulted in the postponement.

     

     

    The statement released by the organisers said: “The Burna Boy Show, scheduled for the 17th Dec. 2017 at the Balmoral Convention centre wish to inform all fans and lovers of Nigeria’s top-most afro-fusion artist, Burna Boy, and our corporate partners and sponsors of a shift in the date of the above scheduled concert.

     

    “This is solely due to the recent allegations levelled against Burna Boy, which are as of now, unfounded and are yet to be proven. Burna Boy and his management are working assiduously within the ambits and requirements of the law to clear his name in these investigations.

     

    “He therefore needs time to come back and promises an incredible performance for his fans. For now, he needs the time and space to deal with these allegations, which have arisen at such a crucial and sensitive time when he’s working on his album and his concert.

     

    “We ask that we respect the time he needs during this challenging period. The new date for The Burna Boy Show will be communicated in the near future, (all tickets purchased will remain valid, however you have the option to receive your full refund from the ticketing partners immediately).”

  • I thought I was going to die- Mr 2kay opens up on near death experience with armed robbers

    Afro-pop singer, Mr 2kay has narrated his tragic experience in the hands of notorious armed robbers who attacked and robbed him at Eko Hotel and Suites.

     

    Speaking in a recent chat with Pulseng, he gave a detailed account of what really transpired.

    According to him: “On the 22nd of October after my whole performance, I decided to go to the hotel to change into something so I could come back and watch other performers perform.

    While I was going back, it was me and my road manager, then Joel who happens to be Burna boy’s manager came to meet my manager and I didn’t see it as anything we all walked into my room together and he was trying to have a conversation with me and the kind of questions he was asking I didn’t really feel it was necessary for me to answer so I just shifted it away. The three of us were inside my room which was the 8th floor I think it was 804 not really sure about it, can’t remember the room but it was on the 8th floor.

    “So after that, I got a call from a friend who wanted to say hi to me because she watched the event. They had to excuse me from my room that is my manager and Joel who happened to be Burna boy’s road manager. Then I got a call from the reception asking if I was expecting anyone and I said yes, so they granted her access to my room.

    “Suddenly I heard a knock and I asked who it was, the person said it was room service and they wanted to come fix something. I was still wearing just my pants. I couldn’t see the face of the person clearly because when I checked he was too close to the pigeonhole.

    Immediately I opened the door, they forced their way in and told me to go down, it was then it dawned on me what was going on. I struggled a bit with them, then I screamed for my life, I shouted JESUS, that was when they tied my mouth. Then they took my friend to the toilet, at that point she was already shaking, shaking”.

    Mr 2kay also noted that he thought he was going to die.

    “In my mind, I had already concluded that this was the end of me so what I did was to pray to God and confess my sins and ask for his forgiveness for everything I have done. They kept punching me in my face and kept asking if I knew why this was happening to me”.

  • Mr 2kay gets robbed at gunpoint

    Nigerian singer, Mr 2kay was robbed at gunpoint in his hotel room during the Buckwyld n Breathless concert on Sunday, October 22.

     

    The apparent robbery took place at the EKO Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

     

    The artiste’s record label on Monday released a statement containing details of the incident.

     

    According to the statement signed by James Silas on behalf of Grafton Records, the artiste “mistook” the robbers for room service assistants.

     

    “Singer, Abiye David Jumbo popularly known as Mr. 2Kay was robbed at gunpoint in his hotel room at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos,” the statement read.

     

    “The incident happened at about 11pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017, during the Buckwyld and Breathless concert where he also performed.

     

    “The robbers, 4 in number, gained access into Mr. 2Kay’s room after he mistook one of them for room service. They forced their way into his room and waved a gun with threats to shoot him if he made a noise.

     

    “Mr. 2Kay, who was in the room with a friend, struggled with one of the robbers, as the others punched and hit him with a gun, repeatedly warning that they will shoot if he doesn’t calm down.

     

    “One of the robbers led and locked 2Kay’s friend in the bathroom, while the others tied the singer’s arms, legs and mouth and took his valuables including jewellery, clothes, perfumes, phones, and money.

     

    “They also cut the room’s intercom (phone) to avoid any form of communication as they left the hotel.”

     

    “The hotel authorities and police have taken statements for investigation, while Mr. 2Kay is getting medical attention.

     

    “I was quite shocked when I got to Mr. 2Kay’s room last night. This was somebody I watched perform some minutes before the incident.

     

    “Anyway, the hotel authorities and police are already investigating the incident and we hope they’ll apprehend the criminals as soon as possible” the statement read.

    Gifty took to her Instagram account to tell Mr 2kay to check himself spiritually rather than put his frustration on zodiac signs.

Recall that the estranged lovers have been throwing jabs at one another after their rift became public knowledge.     Recall that Mr2kay had said their relationship crashed due to zodiac sign incompatibility, but Gifty debunked the claim saying it crumbled because Mr 2kay, couldn’t handle it.
