  • PDP charges Buhari to publish those involved in siphoning $322m repatriated fund

PDP charges Buhari to publish those involved in siphoning $322m repatriated fund

Following revelations that the repatriated $322 million is being siphoned by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidency cabal, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to make public, names and photographs of all those involved in the handling of the money.

The party said President Buhari should do so to show his transparency as well as to enable Nigerians know and see the faces of those superintending over the stealing of the repatriated fund under the guise of sharing it to the ‘poorest of the poor’.

The PDP also challenged President Buhari to order the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) as well, to make public, the APC interests who own the consulting firm reported to have been paid billions of naira as consultancy fees for the “sharing” of the money, which was not also passed through the constitutionally required approval of the National Assembly.

President Buhari needs to note that Nigerians are utterly dismayed that having hitherto postured as a supporter of the ‘Talakawa’ and man of integrity, he has taken no steps against this bare-faced atrocity where over 90 percent of supposed beneficiaries of the repatriated fund are phony names supplied by fraudulent officials of his government.

Nigerians are completely at a loss on why President Buhari always fail to take bold steps to expose and deal with corrupt and sharp practices by his appointees and leaders of his APC, even when such nefarious acts are directly against the less-privileged citizens already suffering the harsh economic realities of his administration.

Since this issue was raised and the PDP called for a legislative scrutiny, the Federal Government and the APC have kept mum, perhaps, thinking that by their silence, it will be swept under the carpet like others in the past.

However, let the APC and the Presidency be informed that Nigerians want to know the details of all those involved in the sharing, the details of the consultants; who authorized the consultancy, the scope of work of the consultancy firm as well as the terms.

Mr. President should therefore not stand aloof on this matter like others before it because it directly concerns the people.

The impunity, stealing and corruption under his administration have reached the rooftop and must be brought to check, before the nation suffers an irreparable hemorrhage.

  • Dogara urges Buhari to assent bill mandating budget submission in September

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the constitutional amendment Bill which provides for early submission of budget proposals to the National Assembly by the President.

Delivering a remark at the resumption of plenary on Tuesday, the Speaker said so long as the Bill is not signed into law, any talk of an orderly appropriations process would be mere cheap talk.

The Bill stipulates that the President shall prepare and lay before each House of the National Assembly estimates of revenue and expenditure 90 days before the end of the fiscal year, and was transmitted to the President along with other constitutional amendment Bills some of which have been assented to by the President.

“It is as a result of this that the National Assembly proposed an amendment to the section to require the President to submit the Appropriation Bill not later than 90 days to the end of the financial year. The President has not yet signed this Bill which is so critical to an orderly Appropriations process. Let me use this opportunity to remind Mr President of the fact that if this Bill does not become law, any talk of an orderly appropriations process would be mere cheap talk.

According to the Speaker, “It is important to reiterate once again, that the National Assembly has the Constitutional powers, duty and responsibility to intervene in the budgeting process to ensure equity, federal character and even distribution of projects and amenities to all nooks and crannies of this great country as direct Representatives of the people.

“It is also important to emphasise that the 2018 budget benefitted from active cooperation and consultation between the Executive and Legislature during the Appropriation process. No doubt, Nigeria’s budgeting processes is in need of further reforms and that is why the National Assembly took the bold initiative to introduce the Budget Process Bill that is expected to lay out, timelines that will guide the appropriations process from conception to passage.

“But for this Bill to be passed, section (81) subsection (1) which gives the President power to prepare and lay before each House of the National Assembly AT ANY TIME estimates of revenue and expenditure in the financial year must be amended.”

He also charged House Committees to process all pending legislative measures before them and ensure expeditious consideration as they enter the twilight of their legislative mandate and said “we already have a record number of Bills, Resolutions and Public Petitions passed more than any other Assembly before us and we can do even more in the remaining period of our tenure.”

Buhari holds talks with French leader, Macron today

President Muhammadu Buhari, who returned to Abuja last night from AU Summit in Mauritania, is billed to hold bilateral talks with President Emmanuel Macron of France at presidential villa, Abuja, today at 4.00p.m.

The French leader would discuss issues bordering on security and terrorism with President Buhari.

Macron had on Monday in Nouakchott during the closing ceremony of the AU Summit met with the Nigerian leader.

Macron will after his engagement with Buhari visit the Afrika Shrine, a nightclub in Lagos founded by Nigerian music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Social commentators believed that Macron would become the first “real president” to enter the club synonymous with marijuana smoke, sexy backup dancers and protest music.

`And he is not a stranger to Nigeria. He trained as a senior civil servant at the French Embassy in Lagos in 2004, seven years after Fela died.

Buhari on Monday night returned to Abuja after attending the 31st Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Assembly of Heads of State and Government, in Nouakchott.

  • Buhari’s aide lambasts CAN, demeans Nigerian journalists

Buhari’s aide lambasts CAN, demeans Nigerian journalists

Social Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, on Monday referred to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) as Cankerworm Association of Nigeria.

She alludes that the association that embodies the totality of Christians in Nigeria is not in talking terms with their God.

    Read full statement:

This piece has nothing to do with the millions of Christians in Nigeria who Love the Lord with their whole hearts and their neighbours as themselves, as commanded by our Lord, Jesus Christ.

On June 16, 2018, lost in the euphoria of Nigeria versus Croatia match at the on-going FIFA World cup tournament in faraway Russia was the cheering news that the Nigeria Police had nabbed the five suspected killers of two Rev Fathers in Benue.

Their names were given as follows: Manga Husseini, David Akenawe, Agada Tsesaa, Tarza Orvanya and Ngyohov Shin.

The mostly sleeping Nigerian media, for reason explained to the nation by one of our veteran journalists, did not consider it “Breaking News”. They did not even do their usual “Cut and paste”.

This is a bid to demarket President Muhammadu Buhari, a man elected to salvage a nation that it’s ruination was backed by unrighteous men parading themselves as Christians. The CAN of worms that reap from the bloody trade that is going on in our nation, did not deem it fit to pat the security operatives on the back.

Why would they? The Cankerworm Association of Nigeria, previously known as “Christian” Association of Nigeria, had achieved its aim, using the blood of two innocent Catholic Priests, to bring back the Catholic Church to their unrighteous fold. The lives of those two innocent Priests, were pawns in the desperate game by certain evil former Landlords of our nation, who are in bed with the demonic Cankerworms and purveyor of hate messages and fake news.

It was in the hey days of the Jonathan administration. Sin was in vogue. Corruption was the currency of trade for the association of partakers of stolen funds otherwise and regretably known as Christian Association of Nigeria. It was very fashionable to commit atrocities and be honoured with a front seat in church and a title.

But the Catholic Church in Nigeria would have none of it. The Catholic Bishops decided to quit the unholy organisation CAN, as there was no more christianty in the Christian Association of Nigeria. They cited poor leadership and POLITICISATION of the association.

The Catholics further went on to add that some attitudes, utterances and actions of the national leadership of CAN which in their opinion negate the concept of the foundation of the association and the desire of Our Lord Jesus Christ, made it imposible for them to continue in the same organisation as unrighteous people.

And then, as if in answered prayer for the Catholics, Nigerians rallied round Muhammadu Buhari, a man of honour and integrity, sacking the government that fed the greed of the CAN of worms who constantly received stolen funds meant to make the lives of Nigerians better and easier.

This made the Tape worms very unhappy. Tgey began to plot to bring vack the Catholic Church to their fold. Their silence was deafening when IPOB tried to destabilise the country. So when IPOB suddenly dumped Christianity for Judaism, watchers alleged that the Worms had not been able to meet their financial obligations to IPOB.

I am a bible Student and EVERYTHING I do, is guided by my belief in ONE God as supported by the Christian Holy book, the Bible. Any Association that attaches “Christian” to its name, must be built on what Jesus Christ taught us. But the criminal merchants are in bed with criminal elements in our today’s opposition, as they were with the Looting government of PDP that ran our nation aground under you know who. They have now managed to drag the Catholic Church into their pig sty to wallow in their mud. But it won’t last because the Catholics would see through the unrighteous smokescreen and flee from CAN. Again.

I have not seen where Jesus preached hatred the way the Nigerian worms do. He taught us to LOVE even those that do not love us. Preaching hate in their coven is a direct insult and disobedience to the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But such criminals, existed in His days and Jesus did not mince words in labelling them appropriately. He called them BROOD OF VIPERS. He also called them WHITE-WASHED GRAVEYARDS harbouring dead men’s bones. What is the difference between then and now? Oh I know. The Temple keepers of those days, trekked or rode on donkeys. Today, it’s Private jets bought with funds stolen from Government coffers and donated in form of Tithes and offerings to the Worms. Abomination unto the Lord!

He also chased them from the temple saying they had turned His Father’s house into a den of THIEVES and TRADERS. It’s very true today. The report was made of a woman who retired from the Civil Service and a Tithe of N60m was received from her. Stolen funds. We got our money back. Many of them are now finding it difficult to maintain their high profile life styles since President Buhari turned off the taps.

I think I was being diplomatic by calling them CAN of worms. We need to define what sort of worms They are. They are CAN of Tapeworms. Parasites! Sucking for free, the blood of their ignorant followers in addition to scamming corrupt political leaders.

With all the stolen resources available to them, they can afford to find out the truth. But their aim is not to find the truth. Evidence abound that Aides of the political friends of the Tapeworms are the ones on a killing spree, in the name of herdsmen and some of them are already in custody. They have conveniently looked away when the police, in response to the petition of the Benue state Governor, invited his predecessor for questioning. They have said nothing regarding the arrest by the Police of the killers of the two Catholic Priests in Benue State.

EVERY LIFE MATTERS. So what sort of a Christian would be silent when over 1000 Fulanis were massacred but amplifies the killing of 70 people massacred in Benue? Thankfully, we have many Christian preachers, real Christians, across the nation who do not preach the same hate sermons churned out by the “Christian” Association of Nigeria.

Profiles of those arrested show that they are MOSTLY from the warring ethnic groups. So why are the Tapeworms speading lies and instigating hate across the nation? The answer is not farfetched. They want to have another access to federal government funds, meant for the development of our nation thereby shortchanging the people of Nigeria. So they reckon that demarketing the anti corruption champion of Africa, Pres. Muhammadu Okechukwu Buhari, will again, throw the National treasury at their feet.

We have had governments in this nation – the good, the bad and the ugly. At no time have we had one that shamelessly peddled religion as a weapon of governance as the government under Pres. Jonathan. We had never seen one that had openly pitched its peace-loving citizens against each other on religious basis using the now frustrated CAN of Tapeworms. It is being alleged openly that many members of the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, are some of the most corrupt and rotten leaders in Nigeria. That’s to the credit of the Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration that elevated them above the law and stuffed their mouths full of stolen funds. Have we forgotten a private jet, $15m and South Africa? No we haven’t.

These worms, Tapeworms, need to borrow a leaf from many Christian preachers of righteousness across the nation. These are men and women of goodwill, ordained in righteousness and are preachers of nothing but peace, love and understanding. Now let me educate the rest who have been belligerent towards others in our nation who worshìp OUR God in a different way.

It is God who chooses what family everyone is born into. Consequently, and by implication, He chooses the religion we all inherit. He wanted me to be a Christian so He caused me to be born into a Christian family. He wanted Gov. Nasir Elrufai to be a Muslim, so he was born into a Muslim family. We both relate as brother and sister. So do most Christians and Muslims across the nation. Religion nor ethnicity does not come into play because we are children of the same God and citizens of the same nation, NIGERIA.

The attitude of many pretenders to Christianity is de-marketing Christianity to the point that Islam is now the fastest growing religion on earth. (Ntor! Ask Google). This is in spite of the fact that ISIS and Boko Haram, are doing to Islam what CAN is doing to Christianity.

It was perfectly fine for a so called Christian President to attend Organisation Of Islamic Conference (OIC), and bring it’s benefits to Nigeria. (I suspect they may have looted those benefits). But totally an Islamisation agenda of the Buhari Administration for Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to take advantage of the SUKUK interest -free loans for the development of his native Enugu State.

In Germany, there’s a Christian political party. This morbid hatred for a righteous man, is enough to propel these religious merchants and bigots to register a political Party. Religious and tribal bigotry are not going to hand them political power. It’s not going to give them what they crave, which is, unfettered access to our national treasury for the purpose of looting.

Until they become a registered political party, until they cease to be demonic and irresponsible in their utterances, until they repent and become Christians, their words are nothing but noise and hate speech. Until then, they do not represent Christians nor speak for us. Until then, they are a brood of vipers and a CAN of Tapeworms.

    God bless Nigeria.

    Lauretta Onochie.

Presidency lists gains of new Niger Delta vision

The presidency on Monday listed some of the successes of the Muhammadu Buhari administration’s new vision for the Niger Delta.

TheNewsGuru reports the presidency listed the successes to include take-off of the Maritime University in Delta State on March 12, 2018, with 338 students across 3 faculties – transport, engineering and environmental management.

The presidency also listed two private modular refineries, it said have obtained licenses and have since commenced construction work.

“One of them is in Kwale, Delta State, and has reached about 70% completion, while the other is in Rivers State,” the presidency stated.

Another success the presidency listed is the legal and regulatory framework for gas commercialization, which the presidency said have been put in place, as well as an upward review of penalty for gas flaring.

  • Buhari assures of more investment in science, technology education

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said Federal Government would invest more in education at all levels, especially in Science, Technology and Vocational Education and Training (STVET).

Buhari, represented by Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, stated this at the 9th Combined Convocation of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, Nasarawa State.

He said that his administration would continue to pursue its objectives until it laid a solid foundation for a viable nation which every Nigerian would be proud of.

The president said that he would continue to work with honesty, integrity and dedication to change the fortunes of the country for the benefit of Nigerians, particularly the less-privileged in urban and rural areas.

He commended the management of the polytechnic and the council headed by Prof. Godwin Sogolo for promoting peaceful atmosphere conducive for teaching and research.

He urged the graduating students and other eminent citizens conferred with fellowship of the institution to support his administration in charting a new course for the nation.

“Together, we can work to reinvent our country and negotiate a better tomorrow for all.

“I urge the good people of the Nasarawa State and all other Nigerians to always support the course of peace and harmony in the country, which is the only viable path of progress and prosperity for our people,” Buhari said.

Earlier, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, had said that government was making all necessary investments in human and material terms, to ensure that Nigeria’s tertiary institutions were ranked among the league of global institutions.

Adamu explained that efforts were being made through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and other sources to upgrade tertiary institutions in academic and infrastructure development.

He commended the Acting Rector of the polytechnic, Malam Abdullahi Alhassan and the Management team for restoring stability, peace and order to the institution.

“I am aware that this polytechnic is a peaceful one. It is to the credit of the acting Rector and the entire polytechnic community that they have been able to arrest the drift and ensure stability in the institution.

“I urge him and his team to redouble efforts at ensuring that the order prevailing on this campus is sustained,” he said.

In his speech, the Rector, Alhassan, commended Buhari for his continued support to take the polytechnic to its present state.

He said “we remain most appreciative and pray that we will continue to get more support through the various interventions of TETFUND.”

Alhassan, however, decried inadequate funding which had slowed down activities in certain key areas of operations, including the procurement of equipment and provision of highly-needed classrooms, laboratories, studios, staff offices among others.

‘While we passionately appeal to the Federal Government to assist the polytechnic in this area, we are equally soliciting from well-meaning individuals, organisations and corporate bodies to assist us, through the Private Public Partnership Policy of the Federal Government.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that four distinguished Nigerians were conferred with the Fellowship of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa (FFPN).

The recipients were Gov. Tanko Al-Makura, Alhaji Buba Ahmed, former Minister of Sports; Chief Ikechi Emenike, a philanthropist and Sen. Abubakar Sodangi.

  • Breaking: Finally, Buhari signs Not Too Young To Run bill into law [Video]

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday finally signed into law the Not Too Young To Run bill, bringing to an overbearing end, the seclusion of young persons from the politics of Nigeria.

TheNewsGuru reports President Buhari, flanked by a number of Nigerian youths, signed the Not Too Young To Run bill in the Council Chambers of the State House at Abuja.

The President, signing the bill into law, today, fulfilled the promise he made in his nationwide broadcast in commemoration of the nation’s 2018 Democracy Day on Tuesday.

He said, “In few days to come, I will be joined by many promising young Nigerians to sign into law the ‘Not too young to run’ bill”.

The bill, which is part of the process to amend the 1999 Constitution, seeks to reduce the minimum age requirement for elective positions in the country.

Member representing Oshodi-Isolo II, State Lagos State, Tony Nwulu, sponsored the bill in the House of Representatives.

It was first passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives in July 2017. Many state houses of assembly in the country have also passed the bill.

Speaking shortly before President Buhari signed the bill into law, Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, said, “We passed the Not Too Young To Run Bill because it is a crime against humanity to exclude youths from politics and governance”.

“They are our greatest assets in Nigeria,” he added.

The Not Too Young To Run Bill hitherto reduced the minimum age to run for post of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 40 to 35 years, State and Federal representatives from 30 to 25.

Senator and governorship age limits remain the same at 30 years of age.

“More than half of our 180 million population are young people under the age of 30. Today’s signing of the #NotTooYoungToRun Bill represents the beginning of the inclusion of this vital segment into our nation-building,” Senate President Bukola Saraki stated after the signing of the bill into law.

  • 2019: PDP okays President Buhari Democracy Day statement

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) says Nigerians have noted and accepted President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration, on Tuesday, that Nigerians should vote for candidates of their choice, come 2019.

The PDP notes that the President made this important declaration after his thorough assessment of his diminished popularity among Nigerians due to his poor performance in the last three years.

“Though Nigerians, on their own, have since reached a consensus not to support President Buhari’s re-election bid in 2019, it is good that President Buhari, by himself, admitted this fact, hence this declaration.

“President Buhari has seen the flow of our nation’s political tides and the PDP urges him to show statesmanship by reining-in his cronies to shed their desperation and lust for power, which will, in any case, be firmly resisted by Nigerians,” the party said in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

The PDP also charges “the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), particularly the blood relatives of President Buhari in INEC, as well as security agencies to note the determination of Nigerians; their desire for another President, come 2019 and as such desist from any act that will pitch them against the people.

“It is imperative to note that the APC is already stuck with an unpopular candidate and PDP remains open as the only credible democratic platform for all Nigerians across board to rally and produce that truly Nigerian President of their choice.

“The PDP therefore urges all democrats, in all political formations and alignments across the country to come together on the repositioned PDP to actualize the wishes and aspirations of Nigerians for a president that genuinely cares and truly have the capacity and competence to restore our nation to the path of good governance, peace, national cohesion, equity and economic prosperity”.
