Many perceive Buhari leadership inefficient – CNN Report

A report by American basic cable and satellite television news channel owned by the Turner Broadcasting System, Cable News Network (CNN), has alluded that many perceive President Muhammadu Buhari leadership to be inefficient.

The report that analyzed Falz’s This is Nigeria trending music video states that: “Many believe the has failed to deliver on his promises of improving Nigerian lives and fixing the economy.

TheNewsGuru reports rapper Falz recently released a Nigerian cover version of Childish Gambino’s This is America, using it as means to address societal ills.

“With the help of stuntmen and extras, Falz walks us step by step through Nigeria’s major problems, central to this is what many perceive to be inefficient leadership by the government of President Muhammadu Buhari,” the report read.

“Nigeria is awash with petrodollars but much of this money does not trickle down to the average man and woman on the street.

“According to the World Poverty Clock, 82 million of the 180 million population (42.4 per cent), live in extreme poverty.

“Other problems include the country’s opioid crisis, normalization of insecurity such as frequent Boko Haram bombings and kidnapping of schoolgirls such as the Chibok girls.

“Added to this incendiary mix is the country’s strained ethnic and tribal relations, a lack of dependable power supply, poor infrastructure, a trigger-happy police force, the popularity of advance fee fraud, (locally known as Yahoo boys) and exploitation of the citizenry by some clergymen,” it added.

  • Fani-Kayode to Pres. Buhari: Do not set Nigeria on fire

As the 2019 general elections draw near, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to avoid any attempts by him or his cronies to rig the elections.

Fani-Kayode made this known in a statement on Thursday stressing, “Any attempt by Buhari to rig the 2019 elections with underage voters and falsification of results will be met with brutal and unrelenting force and resistance from the people”.

“Buhari, think hard before you rig and be ready to pay the price if u do. Do not set Nigeria on fire!” he urged the president.

Earlier, the former aviation minister had said President Buhari will fail in his bid to contest the 2019 presidential elections.

“Buhari has declared his intention to seek for a fresh mandate. He should prepare himself for the biggest demystification in Nigeria’s history.

“A man whose legacy is nothing but blood, death, destruction, corruption, division, conflict, failure and carnage wants to run. He will fail,” Fani-Kayode said.

Fani-Kayode’s comment on Buhari vs Obasanjo

Commenting on the battle between Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Fani-Kayode narrated “Obasanjo was in power from 1976 to 1979. He did very well and he handed over power to a democratically elected government.

“Buhari toppled that government in 1983 and terrorised and killed Nigerians for 2 years until he himself was removed in a military coup by his colleagues in the army”.

He opined that the greatest mistake Obasanjo made in his democratic administration was not to prosecute and jail Buhari for looting Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) funds during his regime as military Head of State.

“I saw the report and it was shocking,” Fani-Kayode said, adding, “Billions of dollars had vanished. Obasanjo summoned him and showed him the damning report. Buhari begged like a baby. Sadly Obasanjo let him off the hook”.

“Obasanjo was elected President in 1999 and remained in power till 2007. He did exceptionally well, repaired and strengthened our economy, built up our foreign reserves, paid off our foreign debts, restored our pride and reputation in the international community and so much more.

“Buhari was elected President in 2015 and divided the country, destroyed our economy, preached hatred, presided over genocide, stole money and hunted his perceived enemies like animals.

“Buhari is not 10 per cent of the man that Obasanjo is. When compared to Obasanjo, Buhari is nothing,” he further stated.

Falana, however, requested release of Nigerians detained `illegally’ across the country, as a special birthday gift from the Federal government.

“I thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his wishes and prayers for me, but the birthday gift which I humbly ask from the Federal Government is more commitment to respect for human rights and rule of law.

“In particular, all Nigerian citizens, who are being detained illegally in the country should be freed without any further delay,” he said.

TheNewsGuru reports that Buhari had on Saturday, in a press release signed by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, hailed Falana’s sense of patriotism over the years.

Earlier, Buhari, in his Ramadan message, had challenged Muslim ummah to use the opportunity offered by Ramadan to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, kindness, generosity and gratitude.

According to him, fasting is not just merely meant to stay hungry or thirsty, but an opportunity to strive for inner purification and self-accountability.

“It is meant to inculcate righteousness and discipline,” he said.

He stated that the Holy Prophet Muhammad used to spend very generously on the poor and the needy during this period.

The President, therefore, urged Muslims in the country and all over the world to copy the good example.

He called on all Nigerians to always remember “men and women who are less fortunate than themselves and to help the government in confronting the challenges facing the nation”.

  • Breaking: Keyamo begins nationwide campaign for Buhari

The Director of Strategic Communications and Official Spokesperson of the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organization, Festus Keyamo, has set into motion nationwide campaign for President Muhammadu Buhari.

TheNewsGuru reports Keyamo, who was appointed by the Buhari’s campaign organization to ensure the incumbent president clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket to come back for second term, began his official duties today visiting Jigawa state.

The Buhari’s campaign organization spokesman was in Dutse on Thursday as part of his duties as Director, Strategic Communications of President Buhari 2019 campaign to solicit for support in the dissemination of the right narratives to various localities nationwide.

“The 2019 election is not just a contest for power. If it were to be so, some of us would not come out of our comfort zone to take on this task.

“It is a battle between forces of corruption and patriots; between the ‘tin gods’ of Nigeria and the masses; between the forces of darkness and light,” Keyamo said in Dutse.

The spokesman, who was welcomed by the State Governor Badaru Abubakar and other party faithful at the Jigawa State Government House, had said Buhari will win the 2019 general election easily.

He said the 2019 election will be easier for the President to win than even when he was elected in 2015.

“The 2019 election will be the easiest election for president Buhari despite what the naysayers are saying, it will be easier for the president than 2015 and all the indices are there, because since that time the president had won over the heart of other sections of the country at that time that may not have voted for him, between then and now he has won their heart” he said.

He pointed out that this was because the President already has many achievements he can boast of. Look at the second Niger bridge it is 40% complete and has been expanded from a 2km to a 7km bridge, look at the railway tracks they have increased them from single gage to standard gauge railway tracks the one between Lagos and Ibadan and Kano and Abuja is 80% complete.

Nigerians will see that despite all the negative talks here and there, that it will be the easiest election for the president more than that of 2015,” said the lawyer.
