What Victor Osimhen made clear to us – Napoli chief

Napoli chief Giovanni Manna has explained Victor Osimhen’s situation before victory over Parma.

Osimhen, after seeing moves to Chelsea and Al Ahli fall through on deadline day, has been stripped of his No9 shirt number and sidelined from the senior squad.

Manna told DAZN: “The situation is very clear, it has been since the end of last season. Victor expressed his absolute desire to not stay at Napoli, to not play for Napoli, and we tried to make him happy.

“Then there is a demand and an offer, we thought that we had concluded the negotiations, but then it did not go through. We bought Lukaku, kept Raspadori and Simeone, which was not to be taken for granted.

“At this moment, we maintain the same consistency we had since the start: he expressed the desire to no longer play for Napoli and so we made other choices.”

Manna also stated: “The transfer market is still open, there are many options, but I don’t think Victor will go to Saudi Arabia in this transfer session.

“Our ideas were clear from the start. We were waiting to sell Victor to finance these operations, but the sale did not arrive and the President took on the responsibility to invest and reboot. He took on all the risk, he was incredible.”

BREAKING: Osimhen’s move to Chelsea collapses; left with one option

The deal to have Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen move to Chelsea has collapsed completely, following closure of the summer transfer window.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the long-awaited move for Osimhen to Chelsea never saw the light of day after transfer talks stalled before the close of the transfer window.

Osimhen had been linked with a move from Napoli to Stamford Bridge, with Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli also interested in signing the forward.

Uncertainty had beclouded Osimhen’s move to Chelsea. The Nigeria international was on a big contract at Napoli but Chelsea’s offer was below par.

Al Ahli offered Osimhen a whopping £60 million (about N141 billion) to lure him to Saudi. However, the Nigerian forward preferred to remain in Europe than to move to the Saudi Pro League.

“Victor Osimhen-Chelsea deal now off as no agreement has been reached. No agreement with Chelsea and their delegation now leaving Napoli after negotiations collapsed tonight,” sports journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed.

TNG reports Osimhen has become one of the deadliest strikers in Europe in recent campaigns and has bagged 55 Serie A goals over the last three seasons.

As it stands, if nothing happens from Saudi in the next 3 days, Osimhen will stay at Napoli, but will not be part of the squad.

Relationship between the player and the club is currently completely broken, as Osimhen does not want to play anymore for the Serie A side.

This means the only option left for the Super Eagles striker is a move away to Saudi Al Ahli.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have alternatively agreed to a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United. United have agreed to the loan deal with buy obligation clause offered by Chelsea. Sancho has already said yes to the deal and set for medicals.

Similarly, Al Ahli have completed the deal to sign Ivan Toney on £40m deal from Brentford, following the failure to secure Osimhen.

Medicals have been done, contract agreed and Ivan will travel to Saudi this weekend to be presented as Al Ahli player.

BREAKING: Club to club deal agreed for Osimhen’s N141bn move

Italian Serie A club, Napoli have reached an agreement with Saudi football club, Al Ahli to sign Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen, with the total package for the move worth N141 billion.

It was gathered that the final green light to seal the move is up to Osimhen, who is linked with a move to EPL side, Chelsea FC. It was also gathered that Al Ahli have booked medicals ahead of the arrival of Osimhen.

“Al Ahli have reached an agreement with Napoli for Victor Osimhen. Club to club deal done, sealed for total package worth €80m – while Al Ahli have already booked a medical. Four year contract worth €25/30m per season net to Osimhen and it will also include a release clause.

“Final green light now up to Osimhen. Chelsea proposal still in his hands but Al Ahli want an answer,” Fabrizio Romano disclosed.

Al Ahli have included an affordable and easy release clause for Osimhen as part of their proposal. It is lower than reported €100m, according to Romano, who also disclosed that Osimhen has always requested for the clause as key part of negotiations.

Chelsea had approached Napoli to submit an official bid for Osimhen on loan with an obligation to buy. Chelsea are currently discussing salary terms with the Nigerian striker.

While Al Ahli are at final stages of talks with Napoli for Osimhen, the deal will “only happen if Chelsea talks collapse”.

Transfer: Chelsea stunned by Osimhen’s personal demands

Premier League club Chelsea have been stunned by Victor Osimhen’s personal demands. Napoli and Chelsea are willing to do business over the Nigeria international.

However, the deal is in the balance with Osimhen demanding a staggering £500,000-A-WEEK to move to London, says The Sun.

Chelsea would have to make Osimhen the highest paid player in the Premier League to make the move happen.

The two clubs, meanwhile, have been haggling over a fee for the striker, with Chelsea reluctant to pay Osimhen’s €130m buyout clause, while Napoli have refused Chelsea’s loan proposal.

  • EPL: Chelsea renew interest in Osimhen

EPL: Chelsea renew interest in Osimhen

Chelsea remain interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen but will only proceed with a loan move, according to The Telegraph. Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is firm on suitors paying Osimhen’s €130m (£110.8m) release clause.

Both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, however, are reluctant to meet this high price for the Super Eagles star. Chelsea were close to signing Samu Omorodion after agreeing on a €40m (£34.5m) deal with Atletico Madrid, but the move collapsed over personal terms disagreements.

With the Omorodion deal off the table, Chelsea has shifted their focus back to Osimhen, contingent on Napoli agreeing to an initial loan arrangement. This could pose a challenge, as Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has dismissed the notion of the striker leaving Napoli for a reduced fee.

  • Serie A: Osimhen hands in transfer request at Napoli

Serie A: Osimhen hands in transfer request at Napoli

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has requested to leave the Serie A club, according to one of its directors, Giovanni Manna.

Manna acknowledged that Osimhen had opportunities to depart the former Italian champions last summer.

However, the Nigerian striker has not received serious offers to leave Napoli this summer.

“Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go,” Manna stated.

“The situation is clear; there were already chances for his exit last summer. Victor wants to leave. We will see in the next 20 days.”

Napoli has already agreed to a deal with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku to replace Osimhen ahead of the new season.

Ligue 1: PSG delay Osimhen’s signing over high transfer fee

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is still trying to negotiate a lower transfer fee for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as they pursue the Nigerian international this summer.

Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that PSG is set to renew its efforts to sign the Napoli striker. However, according to Italian sports news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French champions are still dissatisfied with Napoli’s reduced asking price of £100 million.

“The Parisian club has decided to take a step back. President Al-Khelaifi considers the €100 million excessive, believing that he is making the same mistake with De Laurentiis as last summer,” the report stated.

Napoli initially demanded the full payment of Osimhen’s £130 million release clause, which deterred many potential buyers. PSG, however, refuses to meet this valuation and hopes for a further price reduction.

The prolonged negotiations have reportedly left Osimhen frustrated, with Italian publication Tutto Napoli suggesting that the striker is now open to considering offers from Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal.

“Osimhen is fed up, a prisoner of his golden contract. De Laurentiis will probably grant discounts on the clause but not sales,” Tutto Napoli wrote.

As the transfer saga continues, PSG may need to offload either Goncalo Ramos or Randal Kolo-Muani to make room for Osimhen.

Interestingly, Chelsea has reportedly been offered the chance to sign these two PSG forwards, potentially holding the key to Osimhen’s move to the French capital.

Osimhen, who joined Napoli in 2020 for a club-record fee, has been in impressive form, scoring 41 league goals in the past two seasons and helping the club secure their first Scudetto in over three decades.

Ligue 1: Osimhen to earn extra €4 million at PSG

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to receive a €4 million salary increase with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). According to Tuttosport, the Nigerian international has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG worth €14 million annually, up from his current €10 million salary at Napoli.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, was in Paris earlier this week to negotiate the deal with the Ligue 1 champions. However, PSG still needs to reach an agreement with Napoli to finalize the 25-year-old’s transfer.

If Osimhen leaves Napoli, the Serie A club is expected to pursue Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.

Osimhen will be given the number 9 shirt left behind by Mbappe if the deal pulls through.

Osimhen misses Napoli training amid transfer speculations

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen missed Napoli’s first pre-season game on Tuesday due to fitness issues, as reported by Soccernet.

Napoli faced local Italian side Anaune Val Di Non, with Antonio Conte taking charge of his first game.

Osimhen was initially named on the bench when the team lists were announced but ended up in the stands. He has been working separately from the squad in training over the past few days due to fitness concerns and left training early a few days ago with an ice pack strapped around his ankle.

In his absence, Conte’s men cruised to a 4-0 victory, with Leonardo Spinazzola, Walid Cheddira, Gianluca Gaetano, and Cyril Ngonge all finding the net.

Serie A: Napoli sign Leonardo Spinazzola from Roma

Napoli have announced the signing of Italy defender Leonardo Spinazzola from Serie A rivals Roma.

The 31-year-old, who has 24 international caps, was part of his country’s squad which won Euro 2020.

He was named in the team of the tournament following the Azzurri’s penalty shoot-out victory over England in the final at Wembley.

Spinazzola will work under former Italy, Chelsea and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“Leonardo is proud to be one of us!,” read a message on Napoli’s X account announcing the transfer.

The left back spent the past five seasons with Roma, a period which included winning the 2022 Europa Conference League under Jose Mourinho.

He began his professional career at Juventus where he lifted the Serie A title in 2019 following a series of loan moves.
