  • Transfers: PSG offers Napoli N98 billion for Victor Osimhen

Transfers: PSG offers Napoli N98 billion for Victor Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain are set to table a second bid of €120m, about 98 billion in Naira, for Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen.

Recall that the French champions had their initial offer of €100m for Osimhen rejected in June.

Although the new bid falls short of Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis’ valuation, it has proven to be a good deal for the Nigerian forward and Napoli.

A price tag of €150 million has been slammed on Osimhen’s head by Napoli but no club has been willing to match it.

“The only club that could afford Victor Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain,” De Laurentiis revealed to Mediaset.

“If (PSG president) Nasser Al Khelaifi wants to send in a bid around €200 million, we wait and see what happens. I personally think that Victor will stay here.”

Meanwhile, according to Calciomercato, the negotiations between Osimhen and Napoli for his contract extension are underway, with the club aiming to introduce a release clause that would only become valid in the summer of 2024 for a fee exceeding €100m.

De Laurentiis told Osimhen’s agent that he would only entertain offers close to €200m in this summer’s transfer window. Despite the gap in negotiations, Napoli remain determined to please their star player with a suitable contract.

Bayern Munich has shown considerable interest in Osimhen, but they consider Napoli’s economic demands outrageous and have chosen to halt negotiations. As of now, PSG pose the biggest obstacle for the Azzurri, as they have identified the Nigeria international as the ideal replacement for World Cup winner Kylian Mbappé.

French sources indicate that PSG are on the verge of submitting an offer of around €120m.

Osimhen netted 26 goals and provided five assists in 32 league appearances last season, which played a pivotal role in Napoli clinching the Serie A title after more than three decades.

Osimhen also became the first African player to secure the prestigious Capocannoniere award, given to the top scorer in Serie A.

Osimhen has been granted permission to extend his holidays in Nigeria.

Serie A: Osimhen, Napoli contract extension talks fail

Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda and Napoli couldn’t reach an agreement on a new contract for the Nigerian forward.

According to Sky Italia, Calendar met with Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis to sort out details of a new contract but no agreement was reached.

Napoli want Osimhen to sign a new two-year contract with a pay rise.

The Nigeria international is however keen on a move elsewhere.

Both parties are expected to meet again soon to find an amicable solution.

Osimhen has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Napoli want at least €150m for their star striker who was top scorer in Serie A last season with 26 goals.

  • PSG set to replace Mbappe with Osimhen, table N134 billion bid for him

PSG set to replace Mbappe with Osimhen, table N134 billion bid for him

Paris Saint Germain are set to release a whopping €150m (about N133,935,598,125.00 billion) to acquire the services of Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.

PSG are not sure of retaining French forward, Kyllian Mbappe who is set to leave this summer and the Parisians are trying to replace him with Osimhen.

However, Napoli already making move to meet Victor Osimhen’s agent to discuss a new contract, but PSG are trying to lure the attacker from the club this summer.

The center-forward was already signed from LOSC for over €70m and has gone from strength to strength at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis has given mixed messages, assuring Osimhen reached a verbal agreement to extend his contract to June 2027, but at the same time warning if an offer they can’t refuse comes in, then it must be considered.

According to Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedulla, that bid could well come in from Paris Saint-Germain, and including performance-related bonuses it would hit the magic €150m figure.

This would blow even Premier League competition out of the water, with Manchester United and Chelsea seemingly not too sure about going beyond €100m.

Considering the Nigeria international is only 24 years old and was Capocannoniere this season with 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, plus five in six Champions League matches, that simply would not be enough to make Napoli wobble.

Regardless, first Napoli will meet with Osimhen’s agent to discuss the situation.

Should the striker be sold, they have already identified Jonathan David of LOSC as his replacement.
