The track became an instant hit, inspiring the viral “Umbrella Challenge” on social media. Building on that momentum, Nasboi dropped ‘Small Money’, produced by Deeyassobeatz.

He recently signed with the music company ONErpm Afro-Caribbean. He has also ventured into movies.

Nasboi speaks on signing into D’banj’s ‘CREAM platform’

The management of popular skit maker turned singer, Nasboi has addressed the recent misconception surrounding his deal with D’banj’s The CREAM platform.

TheNewsGuru recalls that D’banj last week unveiled Nasboi and Berri Tiga as brand ambassadors for his revamped initiative.

The platform, which gives registered artistes grants worth between N100,00 and 1 million, allows artistes to upload unlimited content, assessed by industry experts and through a voting process.

However, some reports claimed that Nasboi was signed to the platform as their artiste.

Clarifying the speculations, Nasboi in a statement via his management said  that he is still signed under Eminent Music.

It emphasized that Nasboi’s partnership with The CREAM platform is a separate endeavor, allowing him to collaborate with other brands and platforms as a content creator and influencer.

It reads: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication circulating on social and print media, which may have been widely misconstrued that our Artist the Afrobeats star Nasbol has been signed by the CREAM Platform, a DIY distribution and gaming service company owned by Nigerian Music icon D’banj.

“Eminent Music would like to state emphatically that this news is inaccurate. Nasboi remains signed to the label, and his landmark musical journey is solely distributed by the global reputable company ONErpm, whose support and partnership, have remained both crucial and respected by the Eminent Music family.

“It’s important to note that Nasbol is a celebrated entertainer with unique characterization, his versatile artistry, has distinguished him as a celebrated content creator and magical influencer, little wonder his skill is widely sought after by local and international brands.

“The nature of his job as a content creator/influencer often requires him to work with different platforms, to achieve their cooperative goals. However, as far as his fast evolving and successful musical career is concerned, Nasbol is currently contractually signed to Eminent Music and ONErpm.

“The public is hereby enjoined to uphold this statement as true and identify with the same. We regret the stress the sald circulating publication may have caused our partners at ONErpm and all admirers of the label’s work and indeed NasBol’s fans.

“The relationship between Eminent Music and Nasboi is stronger than ever. Under the label’s watch, he has released the hit-filled EP ‘INIT’, headlined a historic sold-out concert in December 2024, and Nasboi recently secured a well-deserved Headies Next Rated nomination.

“Thank you all for your attention.”

Una begin talk together, wetin bring that one? [laughs]. But for the culture, it’s going to be huge. Super super huge, for the culture.

Somebody will still tell you ‘Wizkid verse sweet pass Davido verse for that song’ [laughs]. I think the fans do too much.

Imagine that I had an interview that is out there now, and what did I say? It feels like once you’re a celebrity, you do not have opinions – that’s dangerous.

But you that is a normal walking guy in the streets, you have an opinion. You can decide to say you love Wizkid over Davido and that’s okay, but me I can’t say it. Somebody is in my DM, you will not believe it because they asked me a direct question of do you think Wizkid offended Don Jazzy by calling him an influencer, and I think yes.

Somebody is in my DM saying ‘you get mind carry Wizkid talk, the way your brother die, you go die.’ It’s in my DMs. I’m a very emotional person, sometimes I really cry and I feel really bad.”
