    Inter Milan set to lure another Nigerian player to San Siro

    Nigerian-born defender, Michael Kayode is currently on the radar of three big  European clubsides.

    Italian giant, Inter Milan are the latest to eye the rock solid  defender.

    Kayode has impressed for Fiorentina this season following his promotion to the first team.

    The 19-year-old has scored once and provided two assists in 19 league appearances.

    According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter now have him on their radar as a potential replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who has yet to agree to a new contract.

    Kayode only recently signed a new deal that keeps him at Fiorentina till the summer of 2028.

    The defender is yet to comment whether he would stay at Fiorentina or move elsewhere at the end of the current season.

    Just this season Inter Milan grabbed a Nigerian Midfielder, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from Remo Stars and he has been firing on all cylinders.

    19-year-old Akinsanmiro made a winning debut for Inter Milan in their 4-0 win against Lecce in a Serie A game recently.

    AFCON 2023: Equatorial Guinea name Nigerian defender in final squad list

    A player of Nigerian descent, Charles Ondo has named in the Equatorial Guinea final squad heading to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, (AFCON) holding in January.

    Co-incidentally, Equatorial Guinea is one of Nigeria’s opponents in the forthcoming AFCON tournament alongside, host Cote D’Ivoire and Guinea Bissau.

    Nzalang Nacional head coach, Juan Micha Obiang announced his squad for the biennial competition on Sunday.

    Ondo was born in Madrid, Spain, to a Nigerian father and Equatorial Guinean mother.

    The 20-year-old was also eligible to represent Spain and England.

    Ondo was first called up to the Equatorial Guinea national team for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Botswana.

    The left-back made his debut on September 6, 2023.

    AFCON 2023, begins on Janaury 13, with the host nation facing Equatorial Guinea.

    Nigerian defender, Nicole Payne signs for PSG

    Super Falcons defender, Nicole Payne, has signed for French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

    “Paris Saint-Germain are delighted to announce the arrival of Nicole Payne. The Nigerian international defender joins the Rouge et Bleu until June 2026,” the French outfit said in a statement announcing Payne’s arrival.

    “Paris Saint-Germain would like to welcome Nicole to the Rouge et Bleu squad,” they added.

    The player was part of the Nigerian side that finished fourth at the 2022 African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco.

    She was born in Birmingham (Alabama, USA) where she started her football career.

    Nicole featured for the US at U15, U16, U17, and U18 levels before teaming up with the Super Falcons in 2021. So far, she has made two appearances for the Africans.

    But she was not part of Nigeria’s team for the 2023 World Cup taking place in Australia and New Zealand.
