  • Women, reason for ‘yahoo’, hook -up trends in Nigeria – K-Solo

Women, reason for ‘yahoo’, hook -up trends in Nigeria – K-Solo

Popular Nigerian music producer, Solomon Oyeniyi, also known as K-Solo, has blamed women for the  prevalence of internet fraud and online sex marketing in Nigeria

The producer while speaking  in a recent interview with Arise TV,claimed that mothers encourage their children to engage in these vices.

According to the music producer,  mothers initially helped facilitate ‘Yahoo’ fraud by collecting proceeds from banks.

K-Solo further emphasized that, change will occur when mothers, female advocates, and celebrities speak out against these vices, and set positive examples for young girls.

K-Solo said, “Hook-up in Nigeria is now like ordering food. It’s almost normal. They even defend it by saying it happens abroad. But I think there should be rules guiding it.

“A lot is backed from the underground. The people who can help from the home side are the women; the mothers. I’m sorry, but mothers are the biggest disasters. There was a day when my car broke down on the road and I saw a young girl, she should be like 16 or 17, and she was going out. I heard the mother tell her in Yoruba to bring something back. I confronted the mother, asking where her child works because she was dressed so fine and looked too good to be going to the office in that dress. She couldn’t answer.

“I looked at the mother and said, ‘By look, I’m older than you. What are you doing at home that you’re telling that poor girl to bring something home?’ Now, let me quickly add this again, when Yahoo started in Nigeria, it was the mothers who were picking up the fraud proceeds from the bank. This shouldn’t sound like I’m talking from a book. It’s what has been happening.

“The day mothers and female advocates start speaking against these vices more, there will be a lot of changes. The day female celebrities who flaunt their luxurious lifestyles on the internet come out and let girls know how they hustle on the fields, a lot of young girls will go back to the drawing board.”

  • “Any man who does not satisfy someone’s daughter sexually should be locked up in a room for 3 months”- Actor, Ernest Obi

“Any man who does not satisfy someone’s daughter sexually should be locked up in a room for 3 months”- Actor, Ernest Obi

Nigerian actor turned filmmaker, Ernest Obi, has said that any man who does not satisfy his wife sexually should be locked up for three months.

The Idemili director said this in a recent post on Instagram while reacting to the case of Joy Emmanuel, an Akwa Ibom woman who was recently arrested and paraded for allegedly plotting the kidnap of her husband, Emmanuel Ebong.

The 40-year-old woman had told news reporters that her husband not only allegedly starved her of intimacy but also refused to provide for the family.

Reacting to her statement, Ernest Obi said he is in “support” of Joy’s action if her husband indeed starved her of intimacy as she claimed.

The 52-year-old added that although he does not endorse kidnapping or other forms of criminal activities, it is wrong for a man to deny his spouse intimacy and children the care they need.

He said “Her first reason is the most cogent for me. And if it’s true, I support her. Any man who does not satisfy someone’s daughter sexually should be locked up in a room for 3 months,” he wrote on Instagram.

“What does my wife @eviernestobi call it again… husbandly duties… I sincerely don’t know where she got those words from…but I agree with it. Wholeheartedly.

“But jokes apart. Though I will never support kidnapping for any reason, I think it’s wrong in all ramifications to deprive your spouse and children of the care they deserve… sexual etc. I pray she finds peace. Note: This page does not support crime or violence in any form.”

Ernest and his wife Evi got married on May 30, 2010.

Shortly after their wedding, Evi joked that they plan to have 24 children.

The couple now has three kids.

Ernest Obi is also a famous Nollywood producer, television personality, entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist.

He is one of the most creative and talented actors in the Nigerian movie industry.

The actor became popular when he featured in the movie, Glamour Girls.
