    Vector weds girlfriend, Yinka Cooker on low key wedding

    Nigerian sensational rap artist, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, a.k.a Vector, has married his girlfriend, Yinka Cooker, in a low-key wedding.

    The 38-year-old musician got married to Yinka, a physiotherapist, on Wednesday, December 21.

    Although both Vector and his wife did not make news of their wedding public, photos and videos from the event have been shared on social media by friends which were also reposted by Vector’s wife on her Instagram page.

    Videos from the simple ceremony capture the rapper and his wife donning plain white clothes while surrounded by family and friends who came to bear witness of their unification.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that sometime in December 2020, it was in the news that Vector welcomed his first child with his girlfriend.

    Pictures of the baby shower went viral on social media several weeks ago as the rapper was seen all smiles with his beautiful girlfriend.

    This got a lot of people talking as the rapper has kept his love life away from social media.

    The award-winning rapper, on December 21, 2020, took to the microblogging platform, Twitter to make the announcement in style.

    Vector shared photos of his newborn baby’s edges, stating that he would be spending on hair products.

    He captioned the pictures, ”Hair products bills loading!”

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that Vector had released three studio albums, including State Of Surprise and The Second Coming (2012).

    In anticipation of his second studio album, he released a mixtape titled Bar Racks. Lafíaji, his third studio album was released in December 2016.

    He also released a mixtape in October 2018, The Rap Dialogue, in an effort to keep the spirit of Nigerian hip-hop alive. In November 2019, his fourth studio album, Vibes Before Teslim: A Journey To Self-Discovery, was released.

    Vector is the voice behind a Sprite commercial that aired on radio stations across Nigeria since 2009. He also had “the longest freestyle rap in Nigeria”.

    In November 2019, he signed a joint venture with Starstruck Management Inc and Create Music Group to release his 4th studio project Extended play titled “Vibes Before Teslim: A Journey To Self-Discovery”.

    Nigerian rapper, Abdulkareem set to return to music after successful kidney transplant

    Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem has revealed that he will get back to work soon few months after undergoing a kidney transplant that has kept him indoors for many months now.

    The singer was diagnosed with kidney failure which made him bedridden for quite some time in a local hospital in the country.

    The rapper who has been in the music industry for more than a decade said he could not have asked for a better family and wife who stayed by him and walked with him through the journey.

    Recall that Abdulkareem went under the knife for a kidney transplant in August 2022 in a hospital abroad and it was largely successful.

    Yetunde, his wife was reported to have donated one of her kidneys to her husband.

    Sharing the news of his imminent return to the public space, Abdulkareem who has been fairly active on social media platforms posted on his Instagram on Friday, appreciating his fans and kind-hearted Nigerians who supported him through his difficult times, Thank you Allah for the healing and recovery, Thank you for giving me the strength and good health. I am grateful”, he added.

    Nigerian rapper, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, aka Skales, has announced the death of his mother on Tuesday, October 25.

    The rapper broke the news on his social media page, Instagram.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the rapper, however, did not give details about the cause of her death or the actual day she passed away.

    In 2000, he started writing rap songs in Kaduna, Nigeria. Between 2007 and 2008, he traveled to Jos to work with Jesse Jagz and Jeremiah Gyang. In 2008, he entered the Zain Tru Search competition and won the competition’s North Central region. His debut single “Must Shine” received numerous spin on the Rhythm FM stations in Lagos, Jos and Abuja.

    The rapper later relocated to Lagos and signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009.

    Skales has collaborated with numerous artists, including Akon, eLDee, Tekno, Harmonize, Jeremiah Gyang, Banky W. and Knighthouse. His well-known songs include “Shake Body”, “Mukulu”, “Keresimesi”, “Komole”, “My Baby”, “Take Care of Me” and “Denge Pose”.

    After leaving E.M.E in May 2014, he set up the independent OHK Music record label. His debut studio album Man of the Year was released in 2015.

    Skales signed a record deal with E.M.E after meeting Banky W. in 2009. He released the singles “Mukulu” and “Keresimesi” simultaneously. Both songs were produced by Sarz and released under the outfit. The music video for the latter track was directed by Clarence Peters and uploaded to YouTube on 28 November 2011.

    Skales was one of the main acts on E.M.E’s debut compilation album, Empire Mates State of Mind (2012). He collaborated with Banky W., Wizkid, Shaydee, Niyola and DJ Xclusive on five of the album’s seven singles.

    He also toured with some of the aforementioned acts on the EME US Tour, which kicked off on 4 July and ended on 2 September 2012. E.M.E acts performed in several different cities, including Houston, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, Providence, Calgary, Atlanta, Washington DC and Chicago.

    Skales supported Wizkid on his tour of London in 2012. On 17 October 2013, he performed at the 2013 edition of Felabration, a yearly concert dedicated to Fela Kuti.

    In February 2014, Skales left E.M.E following the expiration of his four-year recording contract. E.M.E executives believed they were not getting remunerated for investing in him and refused to renew his contract.

    In May 2014, Skales established his own record label, OHK music. The label is home to producer Drey Beatz and has affiliations with other music personnel within Nigeria.

    On 6th May 2014, Skales released the Jay Pizzle-produced track “Shake Body” as the lead single from his debut studio album Man of the Year. The accompanying music video for the song was uploaded to YouTube on 22 July 2014.

    Skales promoted the song by announcing the Shake Body video competition. It was reported that Skales signed a record deal with Timaya’s Dem Mama Records following his departure from E.M.E. In February 2014, Skales debunked the reports and said he did not sign with Dem Mama Records.

    Nigerian rapper and record producer, Jude Lemfani Abaga, aka M.I Abaga, has tied the knot traditionally with his partner, Eniola Mafe.

    Eniola is a strategist and international development leader involved in the Women In Africa (WIA).

    M.I Abaga on Thursday took further in convincing his partner that he wants to spend his lifetime with her.

    Photos and videos from the traditionally wedding ceremony were posted by the couple on Instagram.

    A friend of the groom identified as Vanjaydee also posted a video from the event with the caption: “The Guy is taken. M.I Abaga and Eniola, happy married life.”

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the 40-year-old rapper announced his engagement in an Instagram post on April 3.

    “So.. Wanted to share that I’ve gotten engaged to @EniolaMafe I’m generally very private with things like this but I wanted to share my joy with you guys. Pray for us… we will need it! Thank you for your support,” he wrote.

    Fellow celebrities and fans congratulated the couple in the comment section of the post.

    M.I Abaga rose to prominence in 2006 when his song “Crowd Mentality” became popular in Jos, Nigeria.

    His debut studio album Talk About It was released in 2008. The LP was succeeded by MI 2: The Movie (2010).

    Four years later, he released The Chairman as his third studio album. Abaga released the playlist Rendezvous in February 2018. In August of that year, he released his fourth studio album A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl.

    M.I. Abaga was CEO of Chocolate City from 2015 to 2019. In March 2020, he announced his exit from the label and launched his own record label Incredible Music.

    He won Best Hip Hop and Best New Act at the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards,[5] and was nominated in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards 2010.

    The rapper was born in Jos, Plateau State. His parents, Pastor and Mrs. Abaga are from Takum, Taraba state, both of Jukun-Nigerian descent.

    He attended Baptist High School, Jos where his mother purchased basic music notations and later, a 7-key mini piano which launched him into the music world.

    M.I. Abaga’s venture in the hip hop world started with the sampling of musical works from DMX and Lauryn Hill as early as 1998.

    After his stint at Calvin College, Michigan, US, he delved into poetry while pursuing a career in Business and Economics. There, he performed regularly at the school’s major hip hop shows and concerts.

    His impressive rap flows and attitude gained him a third-place finish at the Calvin College show tagged ‘Hip Hopera’ in 2003, which was the only “hip hop show” that Calvin College ever had.

    Freedom is priceless, says rapper Ice Prince released on bail

     

    Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, has tweeted for the first time since his release from the Ikoyi correctional facility in Lagos for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

    The singer, whose real name is Panshak Zamani, was arrested by the Lagos police command on September 2.

    Ice Prince was also alleged to have abducted and threatened to throw the undisclosed officer into the river.

    He is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.

    The ‘Oleku’ crooner was released on bail from the correctional facility on September 8 — after spending about six nights in prison.

    He had been granted bail by the court in the sum of N500,000 and was asked to provide two sureties.

    The 35-year-old rapper, who had not spoken to the public about the matter since his release from prison, took to his Twitter page to acknowledge the significance of freedom in a short post.

    The rapper’s trial was initially billed to start on September 7 at the magistrate court sitting in the Ajah area of Lagos.

    The court, however, adjourned the case till October 24 after the prosecution counsel said his witnesses did not show up.

    Ice Prince started to enjoy fame in 2011 after he released ‘Oleku’, a hit song off ‘Everybody Loves Ice Prince’, his debut studio album.

    The rapper has continued to drop hit songs and also collaborated with other music heavyweights across Africa.

    The award-winning singer has been shutting down America with his sold-out concerts.

     

    Rema could not contain his joy as he met with American music icon, Madonna for the first time, in New York.

     

    He went to greet the music icon backstage.

     

    She told the artist that he is a great performer.

    Recall the internet had gone wild over a video of Selena Gomez kissing Rema.

     

    Rema, who was in Los Angeles for his sold-out concert, could not believe his dreams as the American celebrity showered him with love.

     

    In a video uploaded on his Instagram page, Selena embraced the singer as she kissed him.

     

    The adorable video had caused a stir online as many hailed him.

     

    Rema is a Nigerian musician, singer and rapper. He rose to stardom with the release of the song “Iron Man”.

     

    In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records.

     

    Divine Ikubor was born into a Christian family in Benin City.[4] He grew up singing and rapping while he was in secondary school. He attended his primary and secondary school education at Ighile Group of Schools, Edo State.

     

    In 2018, Rema, posted a viral freestyle on Instagram to D’Prince’s track “Gucci Gang”.

     

    The post caught the attention of D’Prince who flew him to Lagos to offer a record deal to the young talent.

     

    Rema signed a record deal with D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records owned by record producer Don Jazzy, in 2019.

     

    He went on to release his self-titled debut EP “Rema” in 2019, which peaked at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria.

     

    On 21 May 2019, Jonzing World, and Mavin’s released the music video of “Dumebi”, a major breakout song from his self-titled EP, featuring a cameo appearance from Diana Eneje. The video was directed by Ademola Falomo and currently has 56 million views on YouTube.

     

    In May 2021, Rema announced he will be calling his sound “Afrorave”, a subgenre of Afrobeats with influences of Arabian and Indian music which has led to him having one of the strongest fanbase in the country known as Ravers.

     

    In September 2021 Rema was unveiled as a brand ambassador for the popular soft drink Pepsi alongside his label mate Ayra Starr.

    Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has addressed concerns on declaring for presidency in 2023.

    Falz has been at the forefront campaigning against old leaders, advocating for a better country and for the youths to lead Nigeria.

    Some individuals have since asked Falz to form or join a political party alongside other young agitators and declare for 2023 presidency.

    However, Falz in a podcast session with Lola Oj said he has no plans of being Nigeria’s President or any other political ambition at the moment.

    According to him, all he desires is for everything to be great in Nigeria, adding that things are upside down and needs to be fixed in the country.

    Falz said: “Being a President, I’ve never thought about it, it’s not part of the plans. I’m just a well wisher that wants everything to be ok in this country.

    “I look around me and I see everything is upside down and I don’t think we should be existing like this as a people.

    “There’s an entire array of greatness we’re supposed to walk into, but we’re dragging our feet, that’s the problem.”

    Nigerian rapper, and Penthauze Muzik CEO Azubuike Chibuzor Nelson, popularly known by his stage name, Phyno has made it known, he is set to release new music.

    This is coming after the success of his Playmaker album and his super hit singles such as” Fada Fada’ ‘that won Song of the Year award at the 2016 Headies.

    In a recent chat, Phyno revealed that he would be shooting the video for”Okpeke’ ‘that featured Flavour and Tuface. He is known for back-to-back hits such as ‘Man of the Year’, ‘Pacel’ ‘Alobam’, ‘Connects’ and ‘Fada Fada’.
