Why I won’t change my toxic lyrics – Ruger reveals

Nigerian singer, Ruger, has been making waves in the music industry with his unique sound and unapologetic lyrics.

However, his music has also been criticized for being toxic and promoting negative values.

Despite the backlash, Ruger has refused to back down, stating that he won’t change his lyrics to suit anyone’s taste.

During an Instagram live session with fans, Ruger explained that his music is a reflection of his reality and the world around him.

“I’m not undergoing any rebranding anytime soon. I am the heartbreak master, the toxic relationship master, the scattered relationship master. So, you can’t change who I am.

“I am not undergoing any rebranding soon. So, if you come for my lyrics saying that I’m toxic..No, I love women.

“Women know that I love them. I love women with my whole heart. I’m very nice and sweet to women. Every woman I have been with knows that I am nice and sweet to them.”

But for those who do connect with my music, I’m grateful for their support and understanding.”

This comes after the singer’s associates assaulted OGPDPA officials who visited Portable’s Odogwu bar and restaurant to seal the property due to a lack of approved permits and insufficient air space.

Accorrding to Portable, the govt officials stormed his bar, arrested over 20 people, including artistes and customers, and seized vehicles, gadgets, and personal belongings.

The singer added that he’s  being “targeted and set-up by some certain individuals”.

“They came to the house I am just building and you took my boys. There kids I am taking care of. We have apprentices among them learning different trades.

“They lied against us. My glory will kill my enemy. The house they sealed was the land from which I exhumed my mother’s corpse who died when I was 13 years old. I later built a mansion on the land. The issue of canceling my house is a different case entirely.

“They should provide evidence of where I was assaulting the officers. Those children cannot harm anyone. They are learning trades. I am helping those children. Did they find Indian hemp with me?

“I am begging you in God’s name. Help me release those boys. I am already in deep thought. I must not commit suicide. I did not do anything. You cannot kill me.”
