    Seyi Vibez parts ways with record label boss, Dapper

    Renowned Nigerian musician, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, better known as Seyi Vibez has separated and unfollowed his record label, Dapper Music.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) understands that the singer left the record label shortly after he was called out on social media by Nigerians in Toronto, Canada for cancelling a show abruptly, despite an agreement of a scheduled performance.

    A quick check on Seyi Vibez’s social media page showed that the 24-year-old singer updated his bio with “Independent artist” and deleted all posts.

    This change marks the beginning of his journey as an independent musician.

    Recently, Seyi Vibez released the official video for his song ‘Lagos.’ The piece speaks about a story of love, betrayal and survival.

    It is not about giving rice – Rema tells Nigerian leaders how to tackle hardship

    Afrobeat star Divine Ikubor, known popularly as Rema has taken to social media to Nigerian leaders to  implement effective measures to address the hardship in the country.

    According to the 23-year-old singer, providing a temporary relief will not assuage the suffering of the people.

    Sharing his thoughts during an appearance on The Breakfast Club, the singer said it is important that  Nigerian leaders establish sustainable platforms to consistently provide for the masses.

    Rema also stated that he has been advising Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on some of his policies whenever they meet.

    He said, “It’s not about giving rice. Do you know if some kids have an allergy to rice? What about tomorrow? What are they going to eat tomorrow?

    “It’s better to create a platform that would consistently provide. Create a platform that would consistently educate. Create a platform that would consistently clothe. Create a platform that would consistently shelter the hungry people.”

    One of the fastest-growing Nigerian singers, Habeeb Okikiola, now famous as Portable has welcomed his second child with Yoruba actress Akinyanju Omobolarinde, popularly known as Ashabi.

    The singer via his verified Instagram page, on September 13 announced the good news, after which reaffirmed his commitment to ‘fly forever’ with Ashabi.

    Ashabi, on the other hand, also took to her Instagram page to share photos from her maternal shoot, revealing their daughter’s name to be Princess Irorunloluwa Eyitayo.

    She expressed her gratitude, saying, “My heart is so filled with joy as we welcome my playmate. May God bless you, Princess Irorunloluwa Eyitayo.”

    Korede Bello, the Nigerian singer, has opened on the reason he left Don Jazzy-led Mavins Records.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that singer signed with Mavins in February 2014 but left the label in 2021.

    Speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV hosted by reality star KimOprah, the singer disclosed that he left Mavins because he felt like a product that was just there to make money.

    The 28-year-old who said chasing the next hit song and trying to remain relevant caused him to lose sight of what matters most.

    Korede Bello added that he also took a break from music to self-reflect and reconnect with his purpose.

    “I was at a season in my life where I needed to metamorphose from a caterpillar to a butterfly,” he said.

    “To explore my inner worth, to do introspection, to understand myself, understand meaning more, and reconnect to my why.

    “Because I was at a stage where I started to feel like a product, I started to feel like something that was just being sold, something that is just there to make money.

    “You lose sight of what matters when you chase after the next song, after the next hit, and after the next whatever it is that can get you into conversations. So a lot of artistes are addicted to that circle and that is why they will do anything to just stay relevant.

    “And I know that music is not my destination, music is not my endpoint, it’s a means of communicating who I am and why I am. So I needed to reconnect to why I am and why music is an important tool for communicating what I’m about.”

    Spyro, via a recent Instagram post, disclosed his decision to embrace celibacy, saying that the guilt after having pleasurable sex was too much to bear.

    The 33-year-old further noted that he disengaged from all lingering connections that led him astray, after contemplation and prayer.

    Popular Nigerian Singer, Rudeboy has said that it is difficult to combine being a family man and  musician.

    The singer made this known during an appearance on Adesope live show.

    The 45-year-old also noted that some of his peers ought to have retired from music, adding that musicians don’t stay active for long.

    He said, “In the old ways of doing music, by now people like us suppose don retire.

    “There’s always a time for everything in life. Things will always happen. If you are a celebrity and you think people will always see you like an angel, trust me you’re not going anywhere. There are times that something would be against you. It’s always like that.

    “Every top artist has had their share of criticisms and scandals. Even the up-and-coming ones, too, will suffer the same fate someday. It’s a normal thing [in the entertainment industry]. But what matters is your personality and how you handle issues.”

    Rudeboy rose to fame in the 2000s as a member of the P-Square duo with his twin brother Peter Okoye, aka Mr P.

    The group first split in 2016 but reunited in 2021. In August 2024, Rudeboy confirmed that P-Square had broken up again after his twin brother Peter accused him and their elder brother, Jude Okoye of diverting the group’s funds.
