    Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, returned to his hometown, Benin City, on Tuesday ahead of his much-anticipated homecoming concert.

    The 23-year-old artiste, who is known for his unique and melodic sound is scheduled to perform at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on the 30th of August 2024.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that this will be the singer’s first performance in Benin in six years.

    In the video that surfaced on social media, the arrival of the Afrobeat singer who came into the music scene in 2019 was met with excitement.

    Rema’s record label, Mavin shared the video on its official X page with the caption, “Benin, your illustrious son; The Prince of Afrobeats – Rema is Home!”

    The concert was first announced in July, after the singer’s 2023 December show was cancelled due to health concerns.

    The 23-year-old singer’s homecoming concert is not just a musical event but a celebration of his roots and the city that shaped his rise to global fame.

    The concert is expected to draw fans from across Nigeria to witness “Prince of Afrobeats” who has put Benin City on the global map with famous singles like “Calm Down” and “Dumebi.”

    The involvement of Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has further promoted the concert.

    Popular Nigerian singer, Omah Lay has recounted how one of his senior colleague stole his music idea and made an album with it.

    The Afrobeat singer during a recent interview with Zach Sang Show disclosed how he shared his idea with the unnamed popular musician because he wanted to collaborate with him, however, he noticed the singer, rather than work with him to bring the idea to life, stole his idea and made an album with it.

    Omah, said he had to remake his album and believed it would be the greatest.

    He said, “My song ‘Holy Ghost’ is a new sound. I was going to make the whole album with the new sound but along the line, I changed my mind.

    “I shared an idea with a certain artist and the artist went ahead and put out an album with my idea and I had to re-record my album.

    “He came to me and I accepted for us to collaborate. Of course, it’s an artist that I love. And I told him where I’m headed with the sound. Five months later, he put out an album with exactly all the same sound that I shared with him.

    “I had to go back and remake my album which is actually going to be the greatest album of all time in Afrobeats history.”

    Tekno breaks silence on viral video showing ‘his’ collapse on stage

    Nigerian singer, Augustine Okechukwu, better known as Tekno has dismissed a viral video that claimed he suffered a seizure and collapsed during a stage performance in South Africa.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that a viral clip showing an unidentified man alleged to be the ‘Pana‘ crooner being held by security operatives in a bid to revive him after he collapsed on while performing on stage in South Africa sparked speculations on Tuesday.

    Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the artiste who posed with photo of himself in white sneakers, black trousers, a matching shirt, reassure fans of his well-being, and confirmed that he is healthy and not currently in South Africa.

    He wrote, “Hey guys, I’m hale and hearty and not currently in South Africa. I hope whoever that was in the video is doing well and ok. Thank you guys. Love you.”

    Tekno’s response, comes shortly after his colleague Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade popularly known as Mr. Eazi took to his X.com account, to immediately debunked the rumours stating that Tekno is currently in Malaba, Equatorial Guinea, and not South Africa, at the time the video was recorded.

    According to Mr Eazi, the person in that footage was not Tekno but a Kenyan rapper identified as Prezzo. He wrote, “Lmao Tekno wey dey Malabo.”

    One of the fastest-growing Nigerian singers, Habeeb Okikiola, now famous as Portable, on Sunday, was allegedly attacked by some boys in the Iju Ishaga area of Lagos State.

    A video shared by the 27-year-old Sango Ota-based singer on his Instagram captured the moment he groaned in pain following the attack that led to the loss of his two iPhones, ATM card, Ice chain and golden earrings.

    According to the singer, he had gone to celebrate one of his friends when he and his boys were attacked, adding that he was fortunate to have escaped as some of his boys are currently missing.

    Sharing the video, he wrote: “Wahala big Palaba around iju ishaga We go celebrate with @lincon_orn wey dey sell motor … Inside Adugbo wey we. Dey do show na so all dis Egbon adugbo achieve us, ZEHNATION boys are still missing oo.. they attack my boys after I escape … @lincon_orn should help tell those Egbon adugbo to return @iam_sexyshay 2 iPhones and my atm.. we see @dullarboi phones and car … and we can’t still find him…I never see @bamidola_ we hear say them attack him .. those are my artists that are missing oo.     Fans kick as Chike rewards troll who mocked singer, 1 million

    Fans of Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actor, Chike-Ezekpeazu Osebuka who is popularly known by his stage name, Chike kicked on Tuesday night after the singer gave a troll who mocked him a whooping N1 million.

    This comes after the singer and X user identified as @hate_of engaged in an online argument.

    The troll had alleged that late singer Mohbad made Chike a success by saying, “You wey dey share streams with Young duu, if no be for Mohbad where you for see 40 million streams.”

    Recall, Chike had released a single titled ‘Egwu’ in 2023 which was his last collaboration with late Mohbad before his sudden death.

    Hitting back at the troll, Chike criticising the troll’s home training after which added: “I for send you like 1M now, make hunger commot for your eye make you see road but your account fit collapse. Let the good guy rest in peace.”

    In response, the troll sent bank account details, and in a turn of events, Chike transferred N1 million.

    Chike’s unexpected gesture has elicited reactions from Nigerians on X, who flooded the platform with comments.

    Afrobeats superstar, Rema has opened up on the amount he was paid to perform at the wedding of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, and daughter of pharma tycoons, Viren and Shaila Merchant, Radhika Merchant.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports recalls that Rema some couple of weeks ago made headlines after he allegedly received  $3 million to perform his global hit song ‘Calm Down’ at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Centre (BKC) in Mumbai.

    Speaking in a recent interview with GRM, Rema, when asked about the amount he was paid, said that it was a good treatment but refused to name the amount.

    Interviewer: “Is it true you got paid $3million for Ambani’s Wedding in India?”

    Rema: “Hehehe. That’s what I can say, to be honest. Money-wise, but overall, it was a great treatment. It was beautiful.

    I love India. India loves me, too. And it’s just beautiful to see something that people trolled me for, criticised me for. And now, I’m benefiting from that.

    Imagine if I stopped. Imagine if I actually listened to the trolls online and switched up my sound.

    “Four years later, it paid and still paying and more to come. India is a huge territory. I’m actually the first afrobeats artiste to tour India. I’m even probably the first African if I’m not wrong, but if I’m mistaking, please, forgive me. But it’s a huge deal.

    “It’s not just about the wedding. It’s about the reception everywhere I go. I remember when I was touring India, I didn’t even know how they knew. When I go anywhere just to eat, it’s just paparazzi. It’s crazier than the love in Nigeria.”

    Paul Okoye of Nigerian singing duo, P-square has confirmed the disruption of the relative calm enjoyed in their camp since last year.

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that controversial celebrity Stella Dimokokorkus, had in June alleged that Psquare’s camp was at war after Peter discovers that a joint funds was allegedly diverted by Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

    Speaking however, In a recent interview with City FM, Lagos, Rudeboy disclosed that the plan to make hit music together can no longer happen after he was wrongly accused of saying that he is the music group singer while Peter is the dancer, and the issue hurt his brother.

    According to Rude Boy, Peter dumped the group and was not ready to make the issue public.

    He said, “The plan of our coming back together was going to produce a lot of hit albums. But as it is now, I’m just focusing on Rudeboy. Trust me, it is not everything that I would want to say.

    “I was being accused of saying that he [Peter] was the dancer and I’m the singer. I know whenever we go to the airport, people ask are you a singer or a dancer? I didn’t know it was touching him. But I know there was a time we came together and said, ‘don’t allow this thing get to you, you should be proud of what you’re doing. That’s the role you’re playing.’

    “We have a song we did with T.I, ‘Eja Jo’. That was when the issue started. Till today, that song is still on 3 million views because people didn’t hear the PSquare’s voice that they are used to.

    “When we came back together, because I didn’t want the issues that happened before, I told my brother to show himself, let us be involved in the creative process together. I told him we should share who carries the tracks equally but still it wasn’t working.

    “The new PSquare was peaceful. I needed the past mistakes not to repeat themselves. But then again he [Peter] said he’s no more doing [no longer interested]. In fact, he told me in the face that he wants to quit. I asked if we could make it public and he refused. But what will happen when I go solo? People will call me the bad person. That’s why I’m speaking up now.”

    Nigerian rapper  Falz, has disclosed that he has never been in a committed relationship before.

    The 33-year-old rapper, made this known during an interview with the ‘Menisms’ Podcast, where he also revealed that he has not professed love to anybody but has always been upfront about his feelings and disposition.

    According to the rapper, his love life has not reached a point in a relationship where such expressions of love are made.

    He said, “I have never said I love you to anybody. I have never been in love or gotten to that level of emotional commitment before. And they have not said it to me sha. You know there is a level in a relationship where it’s like, ‘Oh, I love you, baby, I love you too’, I have never gotten there.

    “I’ve just not made the commitment. I have always been upfront about my feelings, disposition and commitment early on, so we are usually on the same page. That way, nobody is going to run off on their own tangent because we know what is going on.

    “Also, from time to time, I feel like these conversations need to be revisited every often. At the end of the day, it is not like I am not expressive, maybe I have just been consistently true to the cause and I have now become accustomed to the mindset of always guiding.”

    Fast-rising Nigerian singer Sulaimon Shekoni, better known as Khaid, has opened up on the health scare that led to his hospitalisation.

    It would be recalled that in April, Khaid was rushed into the hospital amid reports that he was battling internal bleeding.

    Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold and popular skitmaker Sydney Talker visited Khaid in the hospital and shared a video of the singer, who appeared to be recuperating.

    Taking to his X handle on Wednesday, Khaid posted a photo of himself sitting on a red car, saying he survived what many people would face and die.

    Expressing appreciation to God, the singer wrote, “Thank God for helping me overcome what many would face and die, Them no fit hold the Boy, We Rise Again.‼️

    He also shared a cryptic post which reads, “Y’all set moup but can never Shut me up. FYI, I’m Young Trump, I wish y’all long life so y’all can reap what you’ve sown accordingly.”

    Popular Nigerian singer, Simi has addressed the general public about the controversy surrounding a statement she made about other artists on a podcast.

    Recall that the singer was reported to have said during an interview that she only listens to her songs and that of her husband Adekunle Gold.

    This statement clearly didn’t sit well with some netizens, who bashed her for coming off as proud.

    However, speaking in a recent statement shared on X post, Simi explained that her remarks were meant in a casual, conversational context and not intended to be taken literally.

    The mother of one clarified that she enjoys music and often shares her favourite songs and discoveries on Twitter.

    The statement reads, ”In hindsight, I should have had this conversation more carefully. I didn’t because I honestly didn’t consider that it could be something that some might consider as cocky.

    “I’ve never been proud of it. I don’t even see how it’s something to be proud about. I do see how saying “I don’t listen to anything” repeatedly can come off as weird, but it was not literal.

    ”I’m always tweeting about songs I like or sounds I discovered. I’m just terrible at keeping up with things that most other people know.

    “Not just with music. I don’t remember names. I don’t know what charts or shows are trending, I’m always singing the wrong song on the wrong beat, so my friends dey always tell me ” you no dey ever know anything.”

    “It was banter. In the wrong place. This is why I know I should have had this convo more carefully. It was a 2 hour interview with drinking and cuing, so I was chatting like I would with my friends.

    “It does hi rt that whoever cut that clip and wrote that headline did it with intention. It’s impossible to watch the entire interview and come away with the feeling that you would have watching the clip that everyone was sharing.

    “It’s all good though. All is well. My friends did say to leave it alone, but things linger. And I really ha*e being called a liar. But e don finish now.”
