Nkechi Blessing fumes as TAMPAN bans producers, directors from working with her

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Sunday Blessing has reacted to a warning by the leaders of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) that movie directors and producers should not work with her and her senior colleague, Iyabo Ojo.

TheNewsGuru had reported that Board of Trustees (BoT) and Elders of the industry waded into the child molestation case involving Olarenwaju Oyiminka aka Baba Ijesha.

Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing had called for justice for the girl allegedly raped and molested by Baba Ijesha.

Iyabo Ojo had also led a protest against the release of the accused from prison.

However, TAMPAN recently condemned the “malicious damages” by “unruly individuals that lack any iota of discipline and seem to feel to be above the law”.

The actresses were also accused of engaging in social media rifts with their other colleagues over the Baba Ijesha alleged rape incident.

Noting that they were against all forms of sexual assault, the communique accused Iyabo Ojo of “reckless accusations, abuses and embarrassment of our sector”.

“If we allow the continuous blackmail to go unchecked, the current situation will continue to grow to the detriment of humble practitioners, whose only source of livelihood is the practice of Indigenous language movies.” it added.

Reacting, Nkechi Blessing on her Instagram page said, ”If I open mouth talk about this particular man, his grown up daughters would be ashamed of him. Let me just keep shut and move on like they don’t exist.

The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has suspended Nkechi Blessing and Kehinde Adams, two Nollywood actors, over their recent social media rift.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Blessing had condemned Adams, who is better known as Lege, for showing support to Baba Ijesha. Reacting, Lege had accused Blessing of disrespect.

In retaliation, Blessing hurled insults at Lege, calling him an illiterate.

Damola Olatunji, chairman of the Tampan Guild of Directors (TGD), said such exchange of “detrimental verbal utterances” has caused disrespect to the image of the association.

He described the dispute between the duo as a “show of shame” deserving punitive measures.

The association charged filmmakers belonging to guilds under TAMPAN to desist from having professional dealings with them.

“All Guilds under TAMPAN have been directed to henceforth desist from having professional dealings with Sunday Nkechi Blessing and Mr. Adams Kehinde (Lege) until further notice,” the statement partly read.

“In accordance with the directive from our parent body, TAMPAN, concerning the show of shame currently ongoing between the two practitioners, Sunday Nkechi Blessing and Mr. Adams Kehinde on social media, creating a bad image for our noble profession, punitive order becomes imperative to redeem our battered image.”

According to the body, filmmakers who flout the directive will be made to face sanctions.

“In light of the above, it has been decreed that no director from this guild (TAMPAN Guild of Directors) should engage the services of the two actors in whatever guise,” the association noted.

“To go contrary to this directive is tantamount to running afoul of the law of the parent body, subject to further punitive measures against the lawbreaker! Hope this directive will be wholesomely enforced to the letter.”

My husband not bothered about gossip about me- Nkechi Blessing Sunday

Controversial actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday is one role interpreter who made headlines for both good and bad reasons.

Inspite of her being in the public glare constantly and several gossips being peddled about her, Sunday stated that her husband doesn’t believe gossip about.

Speaking in a chat with Punch, “My marriage is the part of my life I wanted to be quiet about. I know that I have always been loud about all my relationships but I also like and deserve privacy too. I only show people what I want them to see. It is my marriage and everyone should not know who I am married to. My husband does not like social media. Before some people bombard him with messages on social media, looking for what is not lost. He does not even comment on my Instagram posts. I know I am a loud person but even spiritually, it is advisable not to always have too much buzz around everything one does. I gave birth and no one knew until they saw my child. Everything is possible as long as one has people who are not selling one out. It is one’s friends that often sell one out, and once one cuts that down, one’s secret would be safe.

“My husband knows what I can do and he is not bothered about gossips he reads online. He is what people call the ‘ginger partner’. He knows the truth about me and that is why I can be unapologetic of my actions. I think it is important for one to marry an understanding partner.”

Why I will go into the Big Brother House with sex toys- Nkechi Blessing Sunday

Controversial actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has averred that if she were to be a BBNaija housemate, she would go into the house with sex toys.

Speaking in an interview, she said:“I have strong conviction that Laycon is the man because of his intelligence and talent, not his physical look. I am sure that is what drew most people to him. If the opportunity presents itself, I’ll partake in the reality show. But I’ll never have sex in the House. Never! I will rather go in there with numerous sex toys. I don’t joke with my toys. I will use them instead of having sex on TV. But not that those having sex (on television) are bad, I am only speaking for myself”, she told The Sun.

Commenting on the backlash she has been getting over supporting BBNaija housemate, Laycon she said: “I am not a feminist. I have a mind of my own. Women supporting women is what we have been clamouring for and I have been doing that all my life. So, what is bad in supporting a man? I can’t support all the housemates at once. This is a game and it has nothing to do with my personal life,” she stated.
