Three days later we can see lace, the glue and your natural hair from the back. It does not matter how much you spend on it. It will always look tacky.

“I’m speaking for a lot of people, and I know some of your friends wouldn’t be honest with you. You look untidy with the lace showing. Fake baby hair almost touching your brows and thick-curled burns. Let us leave them with 2024.”

Media personality, Noble Igwe has sparked off a controversy on Twitter over his statement on Igbo women.

In his Twitter thread, the media personality noted that Igbo women are ”lazy, don’t like working, and just want to sit back and enjoy their husbands’ hard-earned money”. He said unlike Igbo women, Yoruba women are hard-working, build their houses themselves, and do not wait to inherit houses from their fathers.

In his words: ”The Igbo women are lazy, does not like to work and just want to sit back and enjoy their husband hard earned money. They want to inherit their husband’s property and then inherit from their father’s house as well but do nothing but answer “Ori Aku”

“See Yoruba women. Hard working, building houses and not really trying to fight for father’s house in Ibadan. When they want to make changes, they do but Igbo women will come and make it seem like someone is holding them down.

“The Yoruba woman is a go getter. Breaking boundaries, doing new things every day and she does not even need a law to back her. Just her belief and living life on her terms. Guess what? They don’t need anybody’s permission.

“Everyday you are seeking for permission from your village to thrive in Lagos ? Build a house and inherit it, nobody from your village will come to take it. There’s no culture holding you back from achieving things, why are so in on inheriting something when you can build yours ?

“Why is the topic always on inheritance? Can’t you work for your own? You don’t need a husband to inherit . Have you seen Hausa women fighting for inheritance ? No, they go out and build

“No wonder most people think that Igbo women are greedy. The argument can never be how” my Igbo culture stopped me from buying land in Lagos”, it’s always about what to gain from the patriarchy ridden people”.

“Kings, find you a woman that is ready to work hard with you to leave things equally for your children, not the Igbo woman that is waiting on you to die first so that she can inherit and be called the head of home just by being “ Ori Aku”

“Tomorrow, you’d see other women tweet about how their mother willed things to them and how it helped them do better. These tweets don’t come from Igbo women, them and their mothers are waiting for their father to die first.

“Ask yourself, what have you done to change the life of the girl child in your community? Is it Igbo men too that are stopping you?

“In conclusion, any gender can hold any agenda. While some of our concerns are true, the real change comes from doing and not holding the sins of fathers over all Igbo men. Discuss issues as it relates to particular people, communities, villages and the Igbo land at large.

The Igbo man is flawed, just like every other man but you can’t deny the work that the new generation Igbo man is doing towards changing some of these narratives.” he tweeted

Taking to his Twitter page, Noble Igwe criticized the category with claims that award shows with such might have to see their events taken over by social media personalities instead of real industry players.

“Unpopular Opinion: With the introduction of the best dressed in the awards, the real industry players are going to stay away from the awards and you’d have a room full of social media personalities. There are so many fashion events already, gather movie players”, Noble Igwe tweeted.

TV host, Vimbai Mutinhiri reacted to his post: ” Imagine if Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro had to sit through a best dressed voting process on a night meant to focus on their sweat and that of those who make things come together Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat with Paris Hilton and Love and Hip Hop cast presenting awards”.

Ayo Shonaiya wrote: “But what do you expect tho? When every movie premiere is now a red carpet fashion event. Film has now become secondary at a film event. Stylists are now dragging each other on social media after a film awards”.

Tell your favs to get into the studio and work on their craft, I don’t understand how it’s okay to be having an afternoon bath in Tiwa Savage’s sweat. The public are the ones that says who’s hot and by that, demands who a promoter puts on a show. A lot of artist can win alongside Tiwa Savage but first, you have to admit that she’s the best right now. Dear @TiwaSavage , please put out another #FuckYouChallenge video but in this one, just stay drinking tea while the beat plays in the background”.

  • #BBNaija: I don’t owe Ahneeka any apology-Noble Igwe insists

    #BBNaija: I don’t owe Ahneeka any apology-Noble Igwe insists

Blogger and style influencer, Noble Igwe has insisted that he does not have to apologize to former BBNaija 2018 housemate, Ahneeka

Igwe had condemned Ahneeka for not being hygienic while in the Big Brother House.

He tweeted: “I wanted to tell Ahneeka to wash her face more, cut down on soda and stop pressing the things on her face but her supporters would not hear it…Ahneeka goes to bed with the same outfit; so, no one can make her have her bath twice in a day.”

After her eviction, Ahneeka slammed Igwe for making such a statement.

However in an encounter with Punch, Igwe averred he doesn’t owe her any apology.

“I have said a lot of good things about her in the past. There was a time I said she speaks good English. Why didn’t anybody raise eyebrows at that. I like it when things are balanced; they make a lot more sense that way. Dotun of Cool FM also tweeted about Big Brother housemates.

“The truth is that everybody has an opinion about the housemates. It could be about their hygiene; the way they dress or any other thing. I don’t think anybody has an issue with people commenting on the show. These guys are on national TV and we watch them all day; so, there’s nothing wrong about passing comments about whatever happened in the house. Whatever I said about BBN was strictly about what I saw the housemates do.

“On a particular day, there was a close-up shot of her underarm and the viewers saw that it was not well-shaven; I tweeted about it. On another day, the cameras showed this particular housemate peeling her face and I tweeted that it would be nice for this housemate to wash her face often and stop peeling it. I speak about everything in the house so far it is caught on camera.”

“You are supposed to apologize when you feel that you have done something wrong. You apologize when you feel it was a personal attack. You cannot apologize for stating the fact that everybody can see. Criticizing a person doesn’t mean that I don’t like him or her.”

“Honestly, I am a lady and I take care of myself, My hygiene is close to perfect.

“Everything cannot be broadcast, there are over 500 cameras in the house with just one screen; you can’t see everything happening. That is why you do not see me take my bath.
