He described how a church leader told him to stop accepting work on Sundays, which led him to insult the pastor.

Yemi said: “I’ve been told in the church that I should tell producers not to call me for work on Sundays. And I cursed those pastors.

The Voiceless Scream actor also dismissed the notion that one life fares well when they attended church

“The notion that if you don’t attend church once life must die, probably I’ve not seen anything change. Rather, I have peace, I do well,” he said.

“Because every day of my life, when I was going to church, I got messages or sort of disturbances. If you are not invited to one committee, then when will I have time to work?”

On why he prioritises work over Sunday service, the veteran actor stated: “There’s no way in the Bible that Sunday in the Greco-Roman calendar… you’re telling me not to leave my house and go to where my chop is. You are here to chop on Sunday. Who are you telling me that I should tell? You want to ruin my career?”

  • Why single mothers can not raise proper men – Jim Iyke

Why single mothers can not raise proper men – Jim Iyke

Jim Iyke, the Nollywood actor, has sparked reactions with his recent comments about parenting. He said that a single mother alone cannot raise a boy into a “proper man” without the help of a male figure.

The actor made the statement during an interview with Okay 101.7 FM in Accra, Ghana, where he spoke about family, discipline, and the role of fathers in raising children.

According to him, women naturally have the gift of nurturing and showing love, but they are not built to raise boys into men without male guidance. He argued that boys need a male influence in their upbringing, whether it is their father, an uncle, a grandfather, or even a trusted male figure.

“A woman can’t raise a man. You can’t, you’re not built for it. A single mother cannot raise a man properly. You need a male influence – go get your brother that’s doing well or your father or even any man that you trust. There has to be a male presence in it [raising a boy child].

“Because women are naturally built to nurture, to love. And then what you’re going to raise is a very weak man? He is going to be everything like the men that left you. You need somebody that would discipline him, tell him ‘No’ as often times as possible, and put him in the grind,” he stated.

‘To Kill A Monkey’ Star Actor, Bucci Franklin shares how holy spirit helped him play ‘Oboz’ character perfectly –

Nollywood actor Bucci Franklin also known as Oboz from the popular movie “To Kill A Monkey,” has shared his journey of embodying the main character and how the Holy Spirit guided him through the process.

Speaking in a recent Interview, Franklin revealed that the Holy spirit during the preparation of the movie, directed him to surrender control.

“As the Holy Spirit instructed, letting go of grooming was my way of surrendering control. I wanted to feel raw, exposed — a little feral even — because Oboz isn’t polished.

“He is power wrapped in chaos. As my nails grew out and my hair got slightly wild, I started to see someone else in the mirror. That transformation reminded me daily that I was shedding my own skin to step into that of Oboz. It wasn’t just cosmetic; it affected how I moved, how I sat, how I looked at people.

There was a physical discomfort that mirrored the psychological restlessness of Oboz, and that discomfort became fuel for me,” he said.

Bucci further disclosed how the Holy Spirit’s faith guided him into interpreting the Oboz character perfectly.

“God is my manager before anything. There are moments in life that feel like you’ve been prepared for them in ways you can’t fully explain. That’s what this role was for me. When I first read the script, I felt something shift inside me; like I was meant to give voice to the character.

“My faith was my compass through the entire process. It reminded me that even in portraying someone who walks through darkness, my job was to tell the truth, not to judge — because I, Bucci Franklin, am not perfect. The Holy Spirit helped me stay grounded in empathy. Oboz is the kind of soul most people would write off, but I knew my job was to show that he’s still a soul. He is still redeemable, even if it’s just in the smallest way,” he said
