    In a heartfelt post, she shared a touching video alongside a deeply emotional message, reminiscing about their early conversations and expressing the pain of his absence.

    She wrote, “In July 2010, You Asked My Birth Date….I Asked For Yours And You Said The Last Day In The First Week Of May And I Said 7th??? You Said ( Smart With A Clap ).

    It would be recalled that Nollywood actor Junior Pope,  whose real name was John Paul Odonwodo and four crew members drowned on April 10 after their boat capsized in a river near Cable Point, Asaba, Delta State, while returning from the movie set, ‘The Other Side of Life’, produced by Adanma Luke.

    Popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has left many of his fans on social media expressing concern yet again over a new video following his recent disappearance from the internet.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the vibrant actor has been laying low over the past few months and has not been active on social media, nor has he been seen among his peers lately.

    Checks by this publication on the 39-year-old actor’s social media handle, particularly Instagram, indicate that he has not been active on the platform since December 2024.

    Following the recent outcry from fans of the actor over the new development, the light-skinned, talented actor was spotted for the first time in a recent video.

    A new video that appeared on social media on Friday captured the moment when the actor was seen with some children. However, his noticeably slimmer and pale physique has left many expressing concerns about his health.

    This is so wrong – Fans blast actor Gabriel Afolayan for using money to ‘prostrate for his inlaws’

    Gabriel Afolayan, a Nollywood actor and singer, has come under heavy criticism for opting to use money instead of traditional methods on a recent occasion.

    This follows an incident where the Nollywood actor was seen spraying money on a group of supposed in-laws instead of prostrating to greet them.

    In the video that surfaced on social media on Friday, the actor, dressed elegantly in traditional attire, had sprayed his in-laws with money instead of performing the conventional Yoruba custom of laying face down to greet his in-laws.

    While TheNewsGuru cannot confirm whether the incident took place on a movie set or was a real occurrence, the video has sparked a wide range of reactions from Nigerians on social media.

    Some condemned the actor for disrespecting the culture and traditions of the Yoruba people, while others defended him, pointing out that he holds a chieftaincy title that prohibits him from prostrating before others.

    An angry user wrote: “If you can’t prostrate on my daughters engagement and you think you can bail urself out with money you will land in the hospital with whoever accompanied you to the venue that day. Cos what’s with the pride will you die if u prostate and how many minutes are we talking about that you can’t prostrate. Future son in law may we not jam agbako if u know u can’t prostrate please don’t bother to toast ADEDUNHNI OOOOO.”

    Another user, opined that, “If you can’t bring yourself down in times like this as a man I won’t let my sister or daughter marry you.. because you’re the type that thinks money would sort everything and then end up treating the bride bad.”

    One user wrote: “This is so wrong. You can’t never marry mhy daughter 😂 see mhi way never even born self.”

    Nollywood actor, Uzor Arukwe has sparked some mixed reactions after expressing his love for gay people

    TheNewsGuru reports that the actor made the declaration in response to the ‘wildest rumor’ he heard about himself.

    According to the actor, he was shocked to the bones, but was excited when he was rumored to be gay, adding that he felt had blown.

    He further declared his love for gay people noting that he has nothing against them or their sexuality. 

    In his words: “That i was gay and that shocked me to my bones. I was excited too, because i heard when they start saying those things, you have blown. So i have alot of gay friends and i love them so much.”

    When the interviewer asked how he knew his friends where gay, he responded saying : “They are my people, my guys, so i know. I know their sexuality. Like i am moving up to a girl and they are doing their thing. They are my people and i love them to death.”

    If I was truly gay, I would have owned it

    “I have nothing against them. But, I am not going to agree to something i am not just because to some people they are certain kind of people.For me, let God Judge, so that’s why i wasnt going to say anything about the rumor. But if it is truly my sexuality, I’d own it and i would have been one of the hottest around,’’ he added.

    He noted that the person that was rumored to be his boyfriend was the shocking part.

    “I was shocked and the person they said was my boyfriend was the shocking part”, he added.

    Reacting a concerned fan wrote: “Hmm, Odogwu doesn’t know Nigerians, one wrong move and they’ll change it for him. As a hot star, he has to be careful with what he says out there.”

    Another user commented: ‘‘Where’s his manager?” as a fan wrote: “Odogwu don fuck up,I already know how this would end.”

    Uzor gained widerange admiration after his portrayal of Odogwu in the film Love in Every Word, released on March 7, 2025, is directed by Stanley Obi and produced by Omoni Oboli and Tomi Adeoya.

    Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze has declared Uzor Arukwe as the biggest actor in the country.

    The veteran actor during a recent Interview praised Uzor’s performance as Odogwu in the trending movie Love In Every Word, describing him as the biggest deal in Nollywood at the moment.

    “Love In Every Word—Uzor did so well in that film. He is the main deal right now, he is the biggest deal right now. Oh my God Uzor, I am so happy for him because he has walked his way up the ladder and he finally got what we call ‘the actor’s chunk.’ I am so happy for him!” Segun said.

    Expressing his gratitude, Arukwe reposted a clip of the interview, writing, “This is the most humbling video I’ve come across on the internet today. Hearing a veteran like Uncle Segun, whom I respect so much, sing my praise really put me in my feelings. Thank you so much, Uncle Segun, for your kind words. This video made my day”.

    Released on Friday, March 7, ‘Love In Every Word’, which was produced by Nollywood actress cum filmmaker, Omoni Oboli and written by Mfon-Abasi Inyang, explores themes of love, emotional resilience and communication in relationships.

    Former Big Brother Housemate Bam Bam and actor Uzor Arukwe starred in the movie, among others.

    The film gained traction, amassing over seven million views within four days of release.

    Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke has addressed the removal of his movie “Light in the Dark” from popular video viewing site, YouTube.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the veteran actor via a video shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, April 1st, disclosed that the movie was brought down due to a scene deemed inappropriate.

    According to Iyke, the movie which had over 600,000 views in a few days, now has a revised version, which is  available on his channel.

    The thespian, undeterred, expressed optimism, as he encouraged fans to support the revised version of the movie, despite the initial setback.

    Captioning the video, he wrote: “Hey everyone, The original version of our movie ” LIGHT IN THE DARK” on JIMIYKE TV was taken down. They deemed one of the scenes inappropriate from feedback received. It has been challenging, to say the least. Over 600k views accumulated in a few days. The time, effort, and passion my team put into these projects is inestimable. But I’m not deterred. My energy has always stemmed from positivity and a winners mentality.

    “A new version is up now, and I need as many people as possible to watch, share, and spread the word. If you supported the first one, or if you missed it—this is your chance to help keep the project alive.

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has claimed that the real estate industry has become one of the leading forms of money laundering in Nigeria.

    TheNewGuru reports that Doyle whilst appearing on Echo Room, hosted by media personality, Quincy Jones lamented over the numerous completed and uninhabited houses in the nation’s capital, Abuja and the Lekki axis of Lagos State due to high prices.

    He said, “If you go to Abuja and many estates in the Lekki corridor, you will see plenty of houses completed and uninhabited. So, if it’s the prices that are too high, how come people are still building and they are not being occupied? That should tell you something.

    “It’s funny because real estate has become one of the leading forms of money laundering. A lot of it is illegal money finding expression in the construction industry.

    “It’s artificial. It beats my imagination how we have so many uncompleted buildings in a place where there is a shortage of housing for people. But there are a lot of empty estates. Go to Abuja, it’s crazy.

    “That only tells you that people are just using money that has been stolen to store up value, hoping that one day they will sell. Didn’t you hear about the man who has about 7,000 apartments in one estate in Abuja? It’s better to use the money to build something than to store it in the house where rats are.”

    My debt was over half a billion – Mr Macaroni opens up on being a victim of a failed investment

    Nigerian skit maker cum Nollywood actor, Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has opened up about being a victim of a failed investment.

    TheNewsGuru reports that Macaroni, via the microblogging platform, X formerly known as Twitter on Thursday, noted that his financial recklessness and generosity negatively impacted his financial stability.

    The internet sensation disclosed that things got so bad to the extent he resorted to borrowing to fulfil certain responsibilities and pending commitments after losing all his savings.

    He added that even though that 2024 marked a crucial moment in his acting career, it was, according to the comic actor, the most challenging year for him as he faced over half a billion naira in debt.

    Mr Macaroni added that despite the betrayal he faced from people he called his own, the support of family and friends who stood by him during his trying times, made him better.

    He wrote, “Sometime around 2021/2022 I was victim of a scam and simultaneously a failed investment that cost me all I had saved at the time. It shook me deeply but I told NO ONE about it. If you know me well enough, you would know I do not like to share my problems. I could be going through the worst and at the same time helping others solve their own problems but I just would never share mine.

    “After I lost all the money I had then, Trouble started when I had to borrow money from different sources to settle all pending commitments and also fulfill certain responsibilities i have always believed were mine to fulfill. I make money in millions so I never thought borrowing money to pay back with interests could ever be a problem. But I got too comfortable and it took me a long time to realize that I was using the money I was earning to pay back interests. Also, my financial recklessness did not help. Please don’t borrow money! But if you must, please be responsible. I was now in serious debt.. but it didn’t stop my recklessness.

    “2024 was a turning point for my Acting career. Two of the films I featured in were screened at international festivals.. my performances in some other films released last year also earned me numerous commendations. However, It was also the most troubling year for me. I was burdened every single day and night, knowing that I was over half a billion in debt.

    “The last straw was when I was betrayed by someone whom I have always loved as a friend and sister. She betrayed my trust, love and confidence and for that I was completely destabilized. I hardly trust people and nothing really surprises me about the actions of we humans but this one, I could never have prepared for. Such was the level of trust and love.

    “But you see, one thing about me is that I’m a warrior! I have never backed down from a fight. When I fall, I bounce back even stronger by God’s grace and I keep my head up. So I gathered myself, and made some very tough decisions and with the help of family and friends who have stood by me, I feel better than I have felt in the last 3 years!”

    Darasimi, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor, Ganiu Morufu, better known as Ijoba Lande, has disclosed that the constant domestic violence she endured while with the actor led her to leave her marriage.

    TheNewsGuru recalls that Lande, in an interview posted on his YouTube page, disclosed that his wife cheated on him with over 21 actors in the movie industry, insisting he had evidence to support his claims.

    Among those he called out was Baba Tee, whom he mentioned in an Instagram post and the viral interview.

    Baba Tee had earlier denied the claims, challenging Lande to bring evidence that he truly slept with his wife or face the law, however, backtracked in a live interview with socialite, Esabod.

    Baba Tee, in a new twist, admitted sleeping with Lande’s wife while claiming that it was a short sexual relationship that was never meant to happen but did because he was drunk while playing ‘Truth or Dare’ game with Dara and Marygold.

    Also addressing her husband’s allegations is Dara, who explained that she merely sat on his leg during a ‘Truth or Dare’ game initiated by her friend, Mary Gold.

    However, Dara in a new revelation, said that Lande is an addicted gambler, reason why he’s broke and depressed.

    She further expressed regret for committing adultery, saying she have asked God for forgiveness about her actions.

    She said: “I am always surprised whenever people say that I spent Lande’s money and dumped him. Which money did Lande have? He has never been a wealthy guy. He is an addicted gambler who spends all the money he sees on gambling.

    “This is the reason why he is broke and depressed today. I suffered a lot by borrowing money and food from neighbours. He is also very hot tempered and he h!ts me whenever he is angry. The major reason why I left him was when he h!t me because of the ajo money that Marygold was owing. He didn’t want me to pester her for the money.

    “Concerning the truth or dare game with Baba Tee, I regret what I did and I have asked God for forgiveness. I don’t know how Lande got to know because it was only the three of us in that house. I didn’t know when and how any doggy happened.

    “I know I gave Baba Tee a lap dance. The Makecash he is talking about, we are only business partners. Lande said I have slept with 21 men in the movie industry. I challenge him to post any evidence he has against me.

    “He came out to lie that I denied him s*x for 8 months. How can you deny someone you are sleeping on the same bed s*x for 8 months? He knows I am a smoker and we used to smoke and drink together for fun. He just want to paint me bad. Lande, I am sorry for the truth and dare game I played while I was in your house and I apologize to everyone I disappointed too.”
