    Family of Peju Ogunmola reveals real cause of actress’s only son death

    The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has dismissed the reports alleging that the actress’ only son Ayomikun Omobolanle died after slipping in a bathroom.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Ogunmola, a renowned Yoruba actress and wife of comic actor Sunday Omobolanle (Papi Luwe), has been receiving condolences from fans and fellow actors, who describe her as devastated by the sudden loss of her 24-year-old son

    Sola, 24, was the son of Ogunmola and veteran actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe died on September 1, 2025, shortly after completing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

    Contrary to reports circulating online that Ayomikun died in a bathroom accident in the UK, the family revealed that he passed away after a brief illness in Ibadan, Nigeria.

    In a statement signed by family spokesperson Yemi Amodu, the family expressed deep sorrow over Ayomikun’s passing, describing him as a “jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives.

    The family clarified that Ayomikun received top-notch medical care during his illness but unfortunately succumbed to his condition at a hospital in Ibadan. He has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.

    The family strongly urged the public to disregard the false reports and speculations surrounding Ayomikun’s death, stating that these claims not only dishonor his memory but also cause unnecessary pain to his loved ones. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

    The statement reads: “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday & Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle), a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives.His departure is a profound loss to our family and to all who knew and loved him.

    “We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator. He passed away at a hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria and has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.”

    “We strongly urge the public to disregard the unfounded claims being spread by some bloggers. These misleading stories, suggesting that Sola died from a fall in the bathroom without help, are entirely false. They not only dishonour his memory but also bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones.”

    “At this time of grief, we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support we have received from family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers. Your kindness has been a source of strength and comfort.”

    “We pray that no family will ever have to endure the pain of untimely loss. May the Almighty grant Sola eternal rest and grant us all the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

    Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva in deep sorrow

    Joke Silva, the veteran Nollywood actress has taken to social media to announce the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the veteran actress made this known in a post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, where she disclosed that her brother died on August 29, 2025, at the age of 72.

    Joke Silva also paid tribute to her late brother with heartfelt words that reflected their close bond.

    She wrote, “With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will, we announce the call to the glory of my dear brother, John Olabiyi Silva …long John Silva…Bros B…Uncle B…. my easy go lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd 1953-August 29th, 2025.” 

    John Olabiyi Silva is not in the limelight like his sister, but the announcement prompted condolence messages from industry colleagues and fans as they called him nicknames like “Long John Silva,” “Bros B,” and “Uncle B”.

    Nollywood actress Shan George has shared a personal story about her experience with one of Nigeria’s richest men.

    According to Shan George, she met the billionaire by chance at a movie premiere over a decade ago, where she extended an invitation to him. However, during their brief conversation, she discussed her movie production costs, which amounted to N6 million at the time, and asked if he would be interested in investing in her next project.

    Many years ago, as a struggling movie producer, I met one of Nigeria’s richest men by accident, I went to invite a father to my movie premier and he was there, so I also extended an invitation to him. In d few minutes we met, he asked how much I spent producing d movie, and I told him 6million naira ( this was over 10yrs ago, 6m was still big money) and asked if he can invest in our next movie, he just smiled and waved me off. After a few times I tried to reach out to him for d investment in our next movie, he was unreachable, so I moved on.”

    Recently, she came across a statement from the same individual, claiming that he doesn’t take “little people” seriously in business. “Recently I read where same man said that he doesn’t take any little person serious when it comes to business. So I now understand why he waved me off then, cos I was a struggling producer.”

    In a playful remark, Shan George joked about her current success, claiming to produce movies with a budget of $100 million, equivalent to one Bitcoin. She playfully asked if the billionaire would now be interested in investing, or if she and her team are still considered “too small.”

    Veteran actress Rose Odika has spoken openly about the struggles in her marriage, sharing painful details about waiting for a child and eventually separating from her husband when their only baby was just over one year old.

    The actress, who has been in the film industry for more than three decades, revealed her story during an interview with fellow actress Biola Bayo. According to Odika, her marriage faced serious challenges from the start because she could not conceive on time.

    We got married and unfortunately the children weren’t coming. I didn’t get pregnant for the first five years,” she said.

    The actress explained that after finally welcoming a child, her marriage still broke down. She narrated that the separation happened when her baby was only a year and two months old.

    My baby was one-year two months when we separated finally. That’s the only child I have,” she disclosed.

    Speaking further, Odika stressed that no woman should remain in a toxic marriage. She said that peace of mind is more important than holding on to a union that drains life and happiness.

    Her words: “No need for toxic marriage, it isn’t worth it. It isn’t worth your life.”

    Odika also sent a strong message to men who marry women in the entertainment industry. She advised that any man who chooses an actress as a wife must be ready to accept her career and support it fully.

    A man who met you as an actor should marry you as an actor. If he cannot stay with it, then he should go,” she declared.

    Away from her personal life, the actress reflected on her long journey in Nollywood. She revealed that she started acting professionally in 1989 but only became popular in 1993.

    I started acting professionally in 1989, but I came into the limelight in 1993,” she said.

    Nollywood actress, Osas Ighodaro has recounted her first on-screen kiss experience in the Nigerian film industry.

    TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that Ighodaro, who relocated to Nigeria from the United States in 2012, while speaking on a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, recalled how an actor attempted to use his tongue during her first on-screen kiss in Nollywood.

    The actress revealed that the incident was her first rude shock in Nollywood.

    “My first on-screen kiss in Nigeria took me by surprise. Though I knew the kiss was coming, and I was prepared for an ‘on-screen kiss.’

    “In my experience, you are not supposed to put your tongue down somebody’s throat. But the person did. On the basic level, if you are going to do an on-screen kiss, you talk about it, ‘Oh, I’m going to put my tongue in your mouth.’ But if you don’t talk about it, then you know it’s the basics,” she explained.
