    Publicity seeking Nkechi Blessing rants as fan films her in hotel lobby

    Controversial Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has taken to her social media handle to rant in an attempt to rebuke a fan who filmed her while checking out from a hotel.

    In a video, she posted,  narrated how the fan saw her trying to drop a key to the hotel’s receptionist and began filming her without consent.

    Forget she was a public figure and the hotel lobby was also a public, publicity seeking Nkechi was heard saying  courtesy demanded that the fan should ask for her permission to take her picture instead of recording her clandestinely.

    Nkechi said: “I want you to make me understand something. You saw me in a hotel reception trying to drop my key apparently I was checking out and then you brought out your phone to make a video of me. I don’t get, what is the video for? Who are you trying to send the video to. Blogs? And I was alone o. (sic)

    “Even if I was not alone that I was with a man. Is it any business of yours? You get luck say i no break your phone. You get luck say I was in good mood. I for stone the phone on top of your head.

    “You people don’t mind your business in this Lagos again. You saw me coming out of a hotel and you were making a video of me. Courtesy demand you come close to me ask for a picture.”

    TheNewsGuru.com recalls that on June 10, 2021, Nkechi confirmed her marriage to an Ekiti politician, Falegan Opeyemi David, after she shared photos from their wedding on his birthday via her Instagram Story.

    On 23 September 2021, she lost her mum “Gloria Obasi Sunday”, while at the verge of launching her premium movies in Lagos biggest theatre.

    On April 6, 2022, Nkechi posted on her Instagram handle that she had ended her 10 months old marital relationship with Falegan Opeyemi David.

    Nkechi hails from one of the communities in the 17 local government areas in Abia, a State in the South East region of Nigeria.

    She had her primary education at Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary school, Lagos and her secondary education at Barachel Model College, Lagos.

    The actress did a six-month diploma in theatre arts at the Lagos State University, and studied International Relations at Houdegbe North American University.

    In 2008, after she graduated from Lagos State University, her friend “Kemi Korede” discovered Nkechi passion for acting and featured her in her movie “Omo Bewaji”.

    Omo Bewaji became a minor break for her career and led to her meeting with Emeka Duru, who offered her a supporting role in Emem Isong movie; Through The Fire & Entanglement in 2009.

    She rose to prominence in 2012, with a lead role on Kafila Omo Ibadan, after her meeting with the producer, Temitope Bali in South Africa, who offered her the role on Kafila Omo Ibadan.

    Blowing her own trumpet, she noted that she can comfortably buy a man with her money and control him.

     

    She explained that the man would be under her total control as she will put him in her house and dictate how the relationship should go based on her liking.

     

    According to the actress, she could decide not to marry because she does not believe that it is compulsory for everyone to be married.

    Nkechi Blessing, who was confident with her present financial status, bragged about being able to buy any man of her preference if she so desires.

     

    Nkechi Blessing made this claim during an Instagram live session with car dealer and mediator, Chidi Mike CMC.

     

    She joined the live session which featured three other people apart from Chidi, with the topic of discussion being on marriage and whether it is compulsory for a woman to get married or not.

     

    The screen diva, however, stunned everybody when she said that she could also decide to buy any man she wants with the little money that she has.

     

    In her words: “No be everybody come this life say dem won marry. I can comfortably buy a man with the little change that I have, you dey hear English. I can comfortably buy a guy and put him in my house. I will say sit down there; he will stay until I tell him to move.”

    Veteran Nollywood Actress, Cynthia Okereke, has narrated her ordeal in Kidnapper’s den hours after she and her colleague, Clemson Cornel, regained their freedom from their abductors.

     

    TheNewsGuru.com reports that the Nollywood celebrities were recently abducted in Enugu State while returning from a shoot.

     

    Okereke and Agbogidi were kidnapped on Friday, July 29, while they were returning from a movie set at Ozalla town in Enugu state.

    In a video making the rounds on social media, Okereke while breaking silence, thanked the fans, security agencies, Colleagues, and other stakeholders who contributed to their release.

     

    According to her, they were not fed anything during the seven days they spent in captivity.

     

    In her words:  “For one week, no food, no water”.

     

    Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) broke the news of their release, noting that the kidnappers, who demanded a ransom of $100,000, changed their minds after being touched by God.

     

    However, AGN President, Emeka Rollas said the guild was only able to raise N1.2 million.

     

    It would be recalled that on Saturday, their abductors contacted their families, demanding $100,000 as ransom.

     

    According to a statement by the Actors Guild of Nigeria on its official Instagram page on Wednesday, August 3, the movie stars were released unhurt.

    It reads: This is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel Agbogidi, have been released unhurt.

     

    “The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, announced their release by the abductors who were touched by the spirit of God to set them free and unharmed.

     

    “He urged members to be security conscious on and off film sets and always take precautionary measures on their personal security at all times.”

     

    In a video clip on social media, he said “While talking to the abductors, we were trying to explain to them that we were putting some funds together, we were contributing.

     

    “We said that we have about N1.2 million. And they started laughing at us. They started mocking us and saying, ‘all those your celebrities posting on Instagram, why haven’t they contributed?”

     

    The actors have, however, been released but the statement didn’t say if a ransom was paid for their release.

  • Actress Funke Akindele shortlisted as PDP deputy guber candidate

    Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa has been shortlisted as Deputy for Lagos State Governorship candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

    TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that five names were released as the potential running mate of the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor.

    Others shortlisted alongside the Nollywood actress are: former governorship aspirant, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; former Senatorial candidate for Lagos East, Yeye Shobajo, another governorship aspirant, David Kolawole Vaughan known as DAKOVA, and Engr. Teslim Balogun.

    The PDP Governorship Candidate for Lagos had described all five nominees as qualified when the party commenced the screening of deputy governor nominees at its National Headquarters in Abuja last week.

    Adediran said the nomination of five persons for his running mate shows that Lagos as a centre of excellency has many qualified people for the position.

    “Every one of the five nominees is qualified to be my deputy governor. We represent a breath of fresh air in Lagos State. You have seen that in me and my running mate as well,” he said.

    TNG reports this is coming after Tonto Dikeh was selected as her party’s 2023 Rivers Deputy Governorship candidate earlier last week. Akindele starred in the sitcom I Need to Know from 1998 to 2002, and in 2009.

    She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. The actress rose to fame for her role in the movie titled Jenifa, which earned her the nickname Jenifa. The Omo Ghetto trilogy contributed to her fame.

    Akindele played the lead role in the show Jenifa’s Diary,[10] for which she was named the Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

    Akindele came into the limelight after starring in the popular United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)-sponsored sitcom I Need to Know, which ran from 1998 to 2002.

    She played Bisi, a curious but highly intelligent secondary school student. Funke Akindele’s big break came in 2008 when she appeared in the movie Jenifa.

    In a July 2016 interview, Akindele stated she was acting less in the Yoruba film industry at that time because of piracy.

    The 2018 comedy film Moms at War stars Funke Akindele and Omoni Oboli. In July 2019, Akindele started a new web series, Aiyetoro Town, a spinoff from her popular TV series, Jenifa’s Diary.

    Chacha cited numerous reasons she left, which included abuse.

     

    Detailing why she left her marriage, Chacha said she would quit while she was still alive than leave as a corpse.

    The actress appealed to some relevant security agencies to be wary if she strangely becomes unavailable.

     

    “If push comes to shove & suddenly I am incommunicado; my lawyers, the welfare department and the Nigerian police force have my testimonials in recorded video clips/statements set for public release on all social media apps and national newspapers,” she added.

     

    Hours after her post, Austin took to his Instagram page to refute her claims of domestic violence.

     

    He affirmed that he is not a violent person as he detests violence in any form.

     

    Austin reiterated that he has never raised his hands on any woman in his life including his wife.

     

    The father of four noted how everyone who are close to the case know the truth, which he wouldn’t divulge.

    Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has stated reasons why she fought Lagos business woman popularly known as Larrit at a party in Lagos.

    The beautiful actress made this revelation on her verified instagram page on Monday where she gave account of what went down at the party.

    She explained that the Business woman ,Lara used to be a very close friend and business partner, saying they  did business together in the past.

    According to the actress, Lara was an acquaintance who suddenly became an enemy.

    Aigbe stated that the businesswoman had severally insulted her on social media despite the fact that in the past, she had patronised Larrit’s business and vice versa.

    “I was at a friend’s store opening (@rhemmygold) to celebrate with her. Larrit was one of the guests,” she wrote

    “This woman, for reasons best known to her slanders me online at every opportunity she gets. She has done many live videos and posts to this effect. I tried to reach out to her to understand what the issues were, but she chose to ignore me.

    “At the party yesterday, she started with the same energy, throwing words at me, calling me names and being disrespectful. Initially, I kept calm, and didn’t respond to her. People around her appealed to her to stop, yet Lara wouldn’t stop and so decided to stand up for myself and I retaliated with the same energy.

    “It became heated and everyone around tried to broker peace, but she still wouldn’t stop. At some point, she tried to throw a bottle at me but it hit a lady sitting in front of her and there was pandemonium. I stepped out to leave in the middle of the brouhaha but my friend pleaded with me to stay including the celebrant. I went back in and she started attacking me verbally again. Eventually, she was taken out of the party, and she left.

    “She went overboard with her hate yesterday. The bottle could have harmed someone and it would become a criminal case. This was an unnecessary attack. However, I would like to apologise to fans and family who felt I should have handled the whole situation differently. I’m sorry,” she wrote.

    The said squabble happened at a star-studded event on Sunday in which Nollywood actresses such as Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Ajao, and Bimbo Thomas were in attendance.

    In videos making rounds on the Internet, the duo got into an argument that escalated after Larrit threw a bottle at the actress.

    Aigbe was later escorted out of the event amidst a crowd by police officers.

    Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has become a subject of discussion on the Internet following an alleged fight involving her and a businesswoman identified as Lara Olukotun, popularly known as Larrit.

     

    In a video making the rounds on social media, the businesswoman and Aigbe were exchanging words and the former threw a bottle at the actress.

     

    Another video showed a crowded scene with police officers whisking the actress away.

     

    The online video captured the moment Larrit threw a bottle at Mercy Aigbe while the latter screamed in fear. It also captured how Mercy Aigbe was taken away from the drama scene.

     

    A new video that surfaced online captured how the fight started between the duo. Nollywood actresses including Eniola Ajao, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, Lara Olutokun and others were spotted at the event.

     

    The video started with Larrit and Mercy Aigbe shading each other. The former was reportedly shading Mercy Aigbe for staking a claim on her husband despite being the second wife, while Mercy retaliated by asking the D.J to play a song.

     

    Although the duo did not mention each other’s names at first, Larrit flared up when Mercy Aigbe stood up and said her name. Then, in anger, she threw a bottle at Mercy, who screamed in fear.

     

    Nigerian tweeps have reacted to the fight, as they traded blames between both women.

     

    A tweep, @elivijaya, said, “Whether you like Mercy Aigbe or not, the lady that threw that bottle is at fault. There is a difference between verbal insults and physical assault.”

    The actress hails from Benin city which is the capital of Edo State. She is the second child in a family of five.

     

    She did her primary education at St. Francis primary school and attended Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School Ikeja, Lagos.

     

    Aigbe is also an alumnus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State, where she received her OND in Financial Studies.In 2001, Mercy Aigbe graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in Theater Arts.
