    Nollywood actress, Sharon Jatto has publicly called out a movie producer Victor Okpalan who she claims demands sex in exchange for roles.

    In reaction to the ongoing outrage against rapists and rape apologists in Nigeria, Sharon slammed the producer for posting the hashtag; ”Say No to Rape”.

    She claimed that Okpalan auditions young girls to hunt whilst recounting her experience with him at the age of 17.

    ”This man had the guts to post “say no to rape” because he thinks it’s just social media aesthetics. Do you people understand this.

    ”This man holds auditions only for him to haunt(sic) for girls. I was barely 17 when this man asked that in exchange for a movie role I sleep with him.

    ”When I told him my age he said “shey you’ll soon be 18, it’s fine. He literally told me everyone in his film had to do it saying “that’s the normal thing”

    ”Thank God I knew I had a choice. What of people who thought that was the only way? This man has had his way with a lot of people who didn’t know they did have a choice.

    ”It’s disheartening. They are plenty in this Nollywood. And it has to stop. It’s not a do or die affair. Small thing they’ll say “they’ll blacklist you o”

    ”You people are actually mad. Please don’t hesitate to call the animals out enough is enough. And please your dreams and aspirations are valued and God’s blessings doesn’t come with a price tag.

    ”Your time will come” she said.

    Sharon was not the only one accusing Okpalan of taking advantage of young girls, with Nollywood dream.

    Another Nollywood veteran actress, Chizoba Boye is dead.

    Boye, who was also a filmmaker reportedly died after a brief illness.

    Chizoba reportedly died after a long battle with diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure at the age of 52.

    The 52-year-old movie star died on Sunday, May 10.

    Boye, wife of veteran filmmaker, Sam Boye, was a regular face on television series, ‘Tinsel.’

    It was gathered that the duo recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.

    The deceased was a strong advocate for Nollywood Igbo, and would be remembered for her pioneering role in ‘Living in Bondage,’ ‘Checkmate,’ ‘Scandals,’ and others.

    Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Oseni is dead

    Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Oseni has died.

    The ‘Super-story’ sitcom actress died on Monday, February 17, 2020, in Calabar, Cross River State. The cause of her death, however, was not revealed at the time of filing this report but there are some speculations that the actress died of cancer.

    Her daughter, Augusta Akomolafe confirmed the actress’s death to the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ejezie Emeka Rollas.

    Oseni who hails from Ogun state, started her acting career in 1995 when she first starred in the movie ‘Deadly Passion.’ She then rose to prominence in Nollywood back in the late 1990s with her role in the movie ‘End Of The Wicked.’

    Nollywood actress and former beauty queen, Charity Nnaji, has said she is yet to recover from the effect of some scandals she has had in the past.

    Recall that the actress was recently embarrassed for begging a socialite for money. The story was all over the place with Nigerians slamming her.

    In a chat with Punch, she said: “The man wanted to use that post to tarnish my image but interestingly, I became more popular after that scandal. I made good money from that post because people started supporting my non-governmental organisation. It has deprived me of so many things; I don’t want my past to affect my future.

    “I almost drank acid after that post because he didn’t reveal the chat from the beginning. I sent that message to him about two years ago. I was so depressed; I had to stay offline for a while because the insults were too many.

    “I am still trying to redeem my image from all these scandals because they have affected my relationship with people. There was a time I was in a meeting with a senator and immediately he entered my name on Google, he saw scandalous things about me. That moment, he refused to even take a picture with me. He was scared.

    “The recent scandal about me begging for money online destroyed my last relationship. My ex-boyfriend felt I wasn’t satisfied enough with the money he was giving me. I tried to explain that the chat was an old conversation between me and the man, and that it had happened before I met him. It took me time to convince him. His friends were laughing at him, that his celebrity girlfriend was begging for money online. He said he was sleeping when his friends called him about the story, and that was the end of the relationship.”

    Nollywood actress, Yetunde Akilapa charged with N7m theft

    Controversial actress,Yetunde Akilapa allegedly caught stealing was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for breaking in and stealing valuables worth N7 million.

     

    The actress, who lives at No.7, Oladelola St., Ketu area of Lagos, is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on burglary and stealing to which she appealed not guilty.

    Police Prosecutor Benson Emuerhi told the court that the suspect committed the offences on June 27 at No. 14/16, Mutairu St., Shangisha, Ketu, a suburb of Lagos, at 2.10 p.m.

    According to him, the accused was apprehended while trying to enter the apartment of the complainant, Mr Adeboye Lamidi.

    “Akilapa used a different key to unlock the door of the complainant house but was caught in the act,” he said.

    The prosecutor also alleged that the accused on Nov. 16, 2015 at 3.00 p.m. also broke into the residence of Oyinlola Tuga by unlocking the door with a master key.

    “Tuga alleged that after raising alarm that his house had been burgled, his neighbours told him that they saw the accused parked her car with registration no. MUS 689 CZ in front of the complainant’s house.

    “They challenged her and found the stolen items and a hundred bunch of keys on her.

    “The accused was apprehended and handed over to the police at Ifako Police Station,” he said.

    Recall that the actress was sometime in 2013 sent to the Kirikiri Prison and after a few months regained her freedom in November 2013.

    In Jan. 12, 2014, she was again caught trying to steal with a bunch of master keys hidden in her brassiere at a house in Magodo Phase 2.

    The actress known for her wanton display of sensuality and boobs, once revealed that she will be launching a book focusing on the secret lives of Nollywood actresses. Till date, the book is yet to see the light of the day.
