    Actress Uche Ogbodo undergoes BBL surgery, flaunts new body

    Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, has joined the ever-growing list of leading female entertainers who have undergone cosmetic surgery.

    In a recent video that she shared on her Instagram page last weekend, the actress is seen being assisted by a medical personnel as she recovers from a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) and tummy tuck.

    As seen in the video, the Nollywood actress who is currently undergoing her ‘Mummy Makeover’ phase could barely walk as she is in pain. Uche walked slowly and carefully but kept things light-hearted, telling the person recording to “film am well well” — eager to show off her post-op transformation later.

    In a recent interview with Saturday Sun, Ogbodo spoke about her surgery.

    “For me, motherhood has been a journey of transformation, both beautiful and challenging. As I navigated the ups and downs of raising my children, I sometimes felt lost in the process. My identity shifted. While being a mother brings immense joy, it also made me question my self-worth and beauty,” she said.

    Ogbodo, who is married to a younger partner, emphasizes that her decision is not driven by societal pressure but rather a desire to reclaim her confidence and celebrate a new chapter in her life.

    “The weight gain was challenging. I didn’t feel like myself anymore. Years of battling allergies, weight fluctuations, and self-doubt. I miss the woman I used to be and the woman I aspire to become.”

    As her birthday approaches, the screen diva decided to give herself a gift, not wrapped in a box, but rather embodied in self-love and transformation. “This surgery is a birthday gift to me. It’s a reminder that I’m worthy of care and change. It’s about taking control of my life and loving the woman I am becoming. This journey is not just about changing my appearance; it’s about rediscovering my strength, resilience, and beauty. I did this not just for myself, but for my loved ones. I want them to see me happy, whole, and beautiful.”

    Mercy Johnson-Okojie, the actress, has responded to rumours suggesting she underwent weight loss surgery after fans noticed her slimmer appearance.

    As reported by TheNewsGuru, the mother of four recently created a buzz by sharing a video of herself spending time with her children, but her noticeable weight loss has caught the attention of many.

    She captioned the video, “My shoulder nor dey pain me oo, I born four children. My Squad is complete. Happy Easter Team.”

    However, many fans noticed the actress’ slimmer physique, which received praise from some, while others expressed concerns.

    Addressing the claims in a recent Instagram post, the mother of four acknowledged her transformation but clarified that it was due to her weight loss products, not surgery.

    She humorously dismissed the idea of undergoing any surgical procedure, stating that her husband, a “traditional Esan man,” would never allow it.

    “I have been selling weight loss products for years, which means that when there is an innovation in weight loss, I’ll be among the first to know,” she said.

    “We have the Mercy Magic tea that comes with a meal plan, we have the pill which is very coded and now my latest finding is the lean fast.

    “It will dry you up in two months. This is no surgery zone. I’m married to an Esan man who didn’t even let me pierce a second hole in my ear. So, is it my belly I would tear?”

    Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has opened up about her experience of undergoing leg surgery after enduring prolonged pain, shedding light on the unseen battles she faced behind the scenes.

    The 35-year-old actress, in a heartfelt post shared on April 29, 2025 on Instagram disclosed how she  silently battling leg pain for an extended period, while continuing to fulfill her professional commitments despite the discomfort. “Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realising the weight we bear behind the scenes,” she wrote.

    The outspoken actress also shared video showed moments from her surgery and recovery, where she learnt to walk with crutches.

    “Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realising the weight we bear behind the scenes. I had been dealing with leg pain for so long, yet I continued to show up, walk through sets, and smile through moments—but deep down, I was weathering a storm. 

    “Eventually, I had to make a difficult choice: I underwent surgery. The thought of losing control over the simple things we often take for granted—walking, using the bathroom, moving freely—was humbling. But God… He held me. I’m still healing, but my healing is beautiful,” she continued.

    Expressing gratitude, Dada thanked her medical team for their expertise and patience, her friends for their support, and her family for their unwavering strength. She also extended empathy to others experiencing private pain, encouraging kindness and understanding.

    “To my doctors, thank you for your skill and patience. To my friends who visited, called, messaged, and showed love in various ways—thank you. To my family, your strength became my own.

    “And to anyone experiencing private pain: I see you. I feel you. I pray healing finds you. Let’s learn to extend grace. Not everything you see online reveals the whole story. Be kind. Be gentle. Life unfolds behind the scenes, ” she concluded.

    Kate Henshaw, a popular Nollywood actress has taken to social media to lament bitterly about the country’s electricity tariff band system.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the thespian via the microblogging platform on Tuesday pointed out the huge disparity between power supply among electricity tariff bands and what consumers received for consumption on a daily.

    According to the actress, despite being in band A, which should have nothing less than 20 hours of daily power supply, she only get two hours a day.

    The award-winning actress who described the who electricity tarriffs band system as fraud, as she queried the logic behind huge tarriffs despite low power supply.

    Henshaw further compared the electricity billing system to the recently collapsed Ponzi scheme ‘CBEX’.

    She said, “This banding of electricity is a huge FRAUD! I said it before, and I repeat it again..

    “”Band A” is supposed to get 20 hours of electricity at an exorbitant tariff, but if you get 2 hours, to God be the glory. A huge FRAUD…. KMT. See?!!! That estimated billing na daylight robbery with bazooka guns!!! I said what I said!!!

    “When they know they can’t generate enough energy to supply the people, you raise tarriff and still drop the supply! Is that not CBex-ing of the people??”

    Media personality, Chioma Ikokwu, popularly known as Chioma Goodhair, has opened up on how she convinced veteran Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo to allow her daughter Priscilla’s relationship with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

    TheNewsGuru reports that Priscilla Ojo on Thursday and Sunday tied the knot with her Tanzanian lover and singer, Juma Jux, in a glamorous ceremony that lit up Lagos.

    Speaking via Instagram, the socialite explained that Ojo was wary when she became privy of her daughter’s relationship with Jux.

    The media personality however stated that she spent nearly two hours trying to persuade Iyabo to give the relationship a chance.

    Though initially hesitant, she said Iyabo approved the relationship on the condition that Juma Jux was serious about marriage.

    Chioma said she vouched for the singer’s intentions, revealing that Juma had already expressed his desire to marry Priscilla early in their relationship.

    “It was one thing encouraging @its.priscy and @juma_jux on their love at first site quest but it was a whole other thing convincing queen mother to allow a big time Tanzanian artist date her only daughter and prized possession Priscy,” she wrote.

    “At the time we didn’t have any Tanzanian ties, nor had we been there. It all just seemed so far fetched. But the little time I spent around Juma in Rwanda was enough for me to know that he was a good man with a good heart that was absolutely smitten by Priscy from the jump.

    “It wasn’t easy convincing Iyabo. I remember walking all the way from Oxford circus to the end of Knightsbridge (almost 2 hours) tryna convince her. And after that she would call every other hour saying ‘but Chioma this blog said this and that blog said that’.

    “I’d say ‘but you and I know most gossip blogs are inaccurate and unfounded’ plus I had grilled Juma enough in Rwanda when he expressed his profound interest in my little sis so as God would have it I had solid answers for every single one of Iyabo’s concerns.”

    “Shortly after that she said well if she’s gonna date him then he better be ready to marry her and I said I promise you he will (he told me he wanted to marry her on day 1). Like a joke we started planning the wedding on this call. This was August 2024,” she continued.

    “It was so funny because they had just become official bf & gf and here we were speaking the actual details of a wedding into existence. Iyabo was saying they must come to Nigeria to take her and then we can do one in their country too.

    “I was laughing at first because of how detailed she was being but then I quickly got serious because anyone who truly knows Iyabo knows how prophetic she is. Whatever she speaks with her mouth comes to pass just as she says it. Fast forward barely 3 months later we started planning an actual wedding- the #JP2025 you’ve all come to be a part of.

    “@iyaboojofespris I want to also honour you today for the incredible human that you are. This wedding has truly proved how loved you are and I’m happy that nations are calling you blessed.     In a post on her Instagram page on Monday, the actress shared a pre-wedding boat cruise to signify of beginning of the 14 years of blissful marriage.

    Stephanie and Idahosa got married in a private ceremony in France in 2012. This happened after Stephanie’s marriage to a former Super Eagles player Chikelue Iloenyosi was annulled.

    Oil Money, the estranged boyfriend of Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has responded to her allegations of infidelity.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the actress’ ex lover disclosed in a candid chat with Instagram by Radiogad, that the actress is seven years older than him, adding that she never brought anything to the table during their time together.

    He said; “Angela is 7 years older than him, and their relationship is frowned upon by his family. “She doesn’t even have anything to bring to the table.

    He added that he had previously blocked her, and she had begged to come back

    He further accused Angela of bragging and talking too much, claiming she behaves like a 22-year-old despite being close to 50.

    The drama between the two, began when Angela publicly accused Oil Money of cheating on her with her colleagues in Nollywood. However, Oil Money disputes these claims, stating that he was merely doing Angela favors, but she became ungrateful and demanding.

    In his words: “She doesn’t even have anything to bring to the table. I always block her, And she begs to come back. Someone who was begging last week to come meet me in London and I refused.”

    Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has recounted a terrifying experience she had during a movie production when she was the victim of a robbery.

    TheNewsGuru reports that the thespian in a video shared on her YouTube channel narrated how she was not supposed to spend the night at the movie location, but her colleague, veteran Nollywood actor Akin Lewis urged her to complete her scene that day because Lewis was traveling to Oyo State the following morning

    The actress explained that she finished her scenes around 1:00 am  and because they had begged her to stay over night, she lodged in an hotel filled with prostitutes  and was robbed thereafter.

    She said, “I was on a particular set about five years ago. And after we finished shooting at 1:00 am. I was lodged alongside actor Akin Lewis in one hotel at Ayilara Street. I was supposed to spend a day on that set, but the producer insisted that I should spend the night because Akin Lewis has to leave early in the morning.

    “When we got to the hotel, I discovered that it was full of prostitutes, so I told them that I wasn’t going to lodge in the hotel. But Akin Lewis pleaded with me to stay, so I had to respect him because of his personality and age, but listening to his plea was my biggest regret.

    “Just when I was undressing myself to sleep, some armed robbers broke the door and took me away to a place where they withdrew all the money in my account with my ATM card.”

    Reacting to the post, a  fan, in the comment section, remarked about Genevieve’s looks, saying she could no longer cheat nature as she is growing old.

    The fan affectionately described her as “a fine wine” but noted, “You really cannot cheat nature. My fine wine is finally growing old.”
