Veteran Nollywood actor, Fadeyi Oloro is dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro, is dead.

He died Tuesday after a protracted illness.

The details of Fadeyi’s death were still sketchy as of press time.

Born September 15, 1957, the veteran actor died at 66. He is an actor and producer, known for Jelili (2011), Inubibi (2007) and Akoni Méfà (2003).

Confirming his death Tuesday night, actor and comedian, Bayegun Oluwatoyin aka Woli Arole, shared the news via his Instagram account saying, “So happy I reached out to you sir, so happy we played our part, so happy we laughed together, so happy we were able to show our support. Rest in Peace the Legend ‘Fadeyi Oloro’.

“Let’s check up on people when dey (they) are alive, Let’s show love when people can feel. Let’s help when it can be seen.”

Until his death, the veteran actor battled an undisclosed ailment for years.

The Ekiti-born actor rose to prominence during the 80s and late 90s for his trademarked herbalist character.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) recalls that last year the late actor once called on Nigerians to help him financially in order to take care of his health but did not get the kind of support he would have wanted.

In his words: “Nigerians should help me. Everything needed for me to be in a healthy state requires money.

“I am getting better with the support of people, but I have not fully recovered. That is why I am pleading with Nigerians across all walks of life who I have impacted in one way or the other to help me.”

He noted that though he had not gotten enough help, he would not cast aspersions on associations in the industry. He said, “Everyone has different things they are battling with. I don’t want it to seem like I am insulting members of our association of actors.

“Though I did not get the kind of support I would have wanted, some individuals called me to greet me once in a while. I don’t blame them because they are going through different things.”

Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri endorses Funke Akindele, as colleagues shun her

Nollywood actress and politician, Funke Akindele, has expressed gratitude to her colleague, Ruth Kadiri, for showing her support.

Since unveiling her political project, Funke has received less support from her colleagues since her emergence as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.

While some of her colleagues camp with the Labour Party and the incumbent governor of Lagos who is running for a second term, Ruth has shown her support for Funke.

The mother of two had endorsed Funke for Deputy Governor of Lagos under the PDP Umbrella.

The actress took to her Instagram page to state reasons for supporting the actress-turned-politician.

She qualified Funke as being hardworking, tough, emotional and so on

She wrote: It’s election season! And @funkejenifaakindele is my candidate. Reasons been. You’re hardworking. You’re smart. You’re tough. You’re emotional. Above all you’re disciplined. You dare to tread where others won’t fly. You’re a risk taker. I know you’re a filmmaker. I trust you will do a good job. YOU HAVE MY VOTE❤️?”.

Under Ruth‘s comment section, Funke expressed gratitude to her for the support.

“Thank you Ruth”, Funke stated.

Funke starred in the sitcom I Need to Know from 1998 to 2002, and in 2009, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She rose to fame for her role in the movie titled Jenifa which earned her the nickname Jenifa.

The Omo Ghetto trilogy contributed to her fame. Funke Akindele played the lead role in the show Jenifa’s Diary, for which she was named the Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Again, at the 2020 and 2022 AMVCA, she took home the same award, making it her third win for the Best Actress in a Comedy category.

Funke is the most nominated actress at the AMVCA and currently owns seven AMVCA which makes her the actress with most win at the AMVCA.

She is the second director to gross over a billion at the box office with movies like Your Excellency, Omo Ghetto: The Saga and most recent Battle on Buka Street.

In 2022, she was nominated by the People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, as the running mate for the 2023 Lagos state governorship election.

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold laments as housekeeper allegedly stole her 1000 Euros

Nollywood actress, Lizzy Gold Onuwaje, has accused her housekeeper of stealing her thousand Euros and absconding to Aba without knowing.

According to Lizzy, her housekeeper has been leaving with her for about six to seven months and has been helpful. However, she suddenly told her she wanted to leave for Aba.

The actress, who hails from Warri South area of Delta State. disclosed that when she got to her room to call the mother of the housekeeper to find out if she reached Aba but she noticed the content of her drawer in her room was scattered and noticed her money worth 1000 Euros was stolen by the housekeeper.

“You will never sit on this throne”- Actress Georgina Onuoha drags INEC, Tinubu

Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over the declaration of All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu as the president of Nigeria.

The actress took to her Instagram page to contribute her quota to the emergence of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Bola Tinubu, as elected President of Nigeria.

“You will never sit on this throne Tinubu.

“Lord, we’ve been raped as a nation and denied justice and fairness ? How? This is criminal…

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that INEC, in the early hours of Wednesday, declared Tinubu as the president-elect.

Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, was declared the president-elect after the 70-year-old polled 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election.

The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced Tinubu as the winner at the International Collation Centre in Abuja during the early hours of Wednesday.

Tinubu won the election ahead of other contenders – the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, candidate, Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party, LP, candidate, Peter Obi; and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The three leading presidential candidates won in 12 states each while Kwankwaso claimed only Kano State.

Tinubu edged Atiku, a former vice president and his closest challenger, with no fewer than 1.8 million votes.

Actress Chioma Akpotha narrates how she was attacked by thugs at her Polling Unit

Nollywood actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, has explained how she was attacked at her polling unit in Lagos.

Chioma revealed that her fellow women mishandled her at Ikota primary school Lagos.

The actress, on Instagram live, captured the moment political thugs disrupted her polling unit and scattered ballot boxes.

Many of the voters at the polling unit were seen running up and down for safety, while others were seen challenging the thugs.

However, normalcy was restored at her polling unit as voters could cast their votes orderly with the presence of armed forces.

Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship campaign council in Benue state, Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa, for being in possession of N100,000.

It was gathered that Governor Samuel Ortom made the disclosure while speaking to journalists shortly after voting in his Gbajimba hometown in Guma LGA.

He said Tyokyaa was apprehended by the anti-graft agency after finding the cash in his possession.

“I received a report from the DG of our campaign that he had been arrested this morning by EFCC for having N100,000 on him. What is that? Are they the agent of destabilization? It is a shame.

“Why should they pick up somebody because of N100,000? I want to tell the EFCC to release him immediately. I have more than N100,000 on me but I’m not buying votes and he was not buying votes” the governor said angrily.

Chioma Chijioke tearfully mourns husband’s demise, calls for prayer

Heartbroken Nollywood actress, Chioma Chijioke, has called on her fans, colleagues and loved ones, to pray for her as she mourns the demise of her husband, Kingsley Anosike.

The comedian cum actor, who is still in disbelief, revealed that her husband’s death was like a dream to her.

But reality dawned on her when she saw him wrapped from head to toe and she called on to him but he didn’t answer.

Calling for prayers, Chioma stated that she does not know how to walk the path God has placed before her.

In her words: “It seemed to me just like a dream but now I have realized it is not this morning I saw my bestfriend, my love, the crown over my heart my husband but I saw him Ice cold with linens wrapped on him from head to toe.

“I called and he didn’t answer me I touched him but he was frozen cold he didn’t stand up he didn’t touch me back I have lost my husband to the cold hands of death please include us in your prayers. I don’t know how to walk this path God has played before me I am looking up to him alone. I am broken.”

The film producer and director passed away after he slumped during a football match in Kuwait on Saturday, February 18th, 2023.

LAWSUIT: “I’m a fearless soul”- Actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh tells ex-husband

Renowned movie star and politician, Tonto Dikeh has declared herself a fearless soul after her ex-husband, Churchill Olakunle, threatened her with a lawsuit.

Recall that the former lovers and couple had resurrected her rift on their son’s birthday.

A long-drawn-out fight followed which resulted in various revelations and culminated in Churchill threatening legal action if she does not tender a public apology within 24 hrs.

Tonto, in response to his post, took to her Instagram page on Saturday to add more fuel to the burning flames.

She called Churchill this time an “unlimited Yahoo boy,” whose nature was meant to lie, adding that he made a mistake thinking she had not moved on.

Tonto further advised him to adopt his fatherly nature from David, while she gave her viewers more insight into her claims.

She wrote, “Thinking I have not moved on is the worst mistake you can make.

“I came out to make a point that you are a liar, and a deadbeat father, who neither pays fees nor child support to any of his kids.

“This should sink, learn to be a man from David. You have always been a big fan of his, adopt is fatherly nature at least to your daughters.”

“Cause like I said, my son will never need nothing from you, not even your God called forsaken name. I’m not going to be stuck with a man I dumped, that climbed seven mountains to try to get me back. Nah bruv.”

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had announced 25th of February as the new date for the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

Consequently, the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will now hold on 11th March 2023.

The presidential election was earlier scheduled to hold on 18th February but the delay in signing of the electoral bill forced the commission to shift the date.

This was contained in a statement released by the commission in Abuja..

President Buhari signed the Electoral act Amendment bill into law on Friday, 25th February, forcing the commission to shift the date in order to fulfill the electoral act stipulating an average of 365 days between the date the electoral act is signed and the conduct of the presidential election.

Nollywood actress, Ruth slams model Adeola Ariyo for dating baby mama’s lover

Nollywood actress, Ruth Kadiri-Ezerika, has called out a Nigerian model, Adeola Ariyo, for dating the lover of her baby mama‘s friend.

Munira, a mother of one, went on Instagram to accuse her friend (Adeola Ariyo) of snatching her man.

According to her, she introduced Ariyo to her man and even invited her to her baby shower as she prepared to welcome a baby with her man, only for her friend to begin dating the same man.

Munira also shared the scathing message Ariyo sent to her after “snatching” her man.

As the news went viral, Ruth weighed in.

“Valueless women excited her left her for me,” Ruth wrote.

Blasting the man, Ruth noted that only a man who has no self-worth will allow himself to trend for being snatched.

“He is a mumu man,” she added.

Nigerians troop to model Adeola Ariyo’s page after she was called out by her friend for “snatching” her boyfriend/baby daddy.
