  • How Wizkid shocked me with his humility- ID Cabasa

    Ace Nigerian music producer, ID Cabasa known for producing hit songs like 9ice’ ‘Gongo Aso’ has showered praises on Nigerian pop-star, Wizkid.
    The Coded Tunes boss recently recounted his experience working with Wizkid and Olamide on the song ‘Totori’.
    Cabasa made this known during an interview on the popular breakfast show, ‘Wake Up Nigeria’
    Speaking on his collaboration with Olamide and Wizzy, he said: “Olamide told Wizkid that bros (Cabasa) has this beat. Wizkid showed loads of love, I was even surprised. You know in Nigeria when you become big, sometimes some things would get into your head. But I was shocked when he came around, the humility, that down-to-earth kind of attitude, in fact, the way he was hugging I was going to say – bros let me just take pictures, you are the superstar now.”
     
    ID Cabasa stated that understanding traction is the key to being relevant as an artiste.
    “I understand traction.Traction is a combination of content and popularity. If what you seek is popularity , you will get it. I can assure you, popularity can be frustrating.You need popularity for people to listen to you.Acceptance comes from the truth in your content. Fela had died over twenty years but we stlil talk about his songs”.
     
     

  • Rapper, Olamide expects child with ex-lover Maria Okan

    Nigerian rapper, Olamide Adedeji a.k.a ‘baddosneh’ is expecting a child with ex-lover and former on-air-personality, Maria Okanrende.
    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ‘baddosneh’ On Tuesday announced the birth of his second child, Tunrepin Myles Adedeji with his fiance of over five years, Bukunmi Aisha Suleiman in Maryand, U.S.A.
    The rapper took to his Instagram page to announced the birth, with a photo of himself carrying the baby.
    He also caption the photo quoting the name of the baby, Tunrepin Myles Adedeji.
    In 2015, Olamide and Bukunmi welcomed their first child, Maximilian Boluwatife Adedeji.
    Although Maria’s pregnancy was rumoured a few months ago, it was later confirmed by a close friend of Maria.
    The source disclosed that the MTV Shuga actress had entered into a romantic relationship with Olamide with the belief that he was single and separated from his baby mama.
    “Olamide told her he was single that’s why she began a relationship. They loved each other,” the source revealed to Pulse Ng.
    The affair between Maria and Olamide wasn’t planned to be short-lived, however, it began to fade away when
    Maria found out that the YBNL boss was still with his baby mama and long-time partner, Bukunmi Suleiman.
    “They broke up because she found out he was still with his baby mother,” Maria’s close friend told Pulse.
    However, it was too late to turn back the hands of time as Maria had gotten pregnant. “Later she found out she was pregnant.”
    The source also disclosed that after Maria found out that she was pregnant with Olamide’s baby, Maria reached out to him for mutual discussion and agreement.
    “They discussed options. He said the decision is hers. She kept it and they planned to co-parent from the beginning,” Maria’s friend informed.
    After discussing with Olamide, Maria resigned her appointment with Beat FM and moved to London.
    This move, her friend said, wasn’t solely her decision. “Her parents took her to London because they thought that was the best.”
    Unknown to many, Maria had to battle to save her life and that of her pregnancy after relocating to London in 2019.
    Her friend said, “That (relocating to the UK) was a blessing because not long after, she was admitted to hospital with serious dangers to the pregnancy.
    This has resulted in her pregnancy being labeled a “high-risk pregnancy” by doctors which is why she is still in London as she is monitored every week.”
    Maria’s friend went on to say Olamide was notified of the development after which he sent money to the pregnant OAP.
    “He (Olamide) sent money for the baby when she came out of the hospital in March (2019). That is the only time he sent her money – which was to start buying baby things.”
    Since rumours of the pregnancy broke, some Nigerians have gone to twitter to accuse Maria of ‘trapping’ Olamide.
    However, Maria’s friend explained that the actress and producer would not respond to insults and snide remarks as she needs to focus all her energy on delivering her baby in good health and condition.
    “My friend won’t speak because she needs to rest before the baby is delivered. She also knows better than to have her baby reading negative things in the future.
    “Therefore she will not respond to insults. We are looking forward to her first child and so is the father,” she told Pulse.
    In 2018, Olamide hinted at his decision to marry Bunkunmi by proposing.

    Social media has been awash with speculations that Maria Okan, a former broadcaster with Beat FM being reportedly pregnant for Olamide who recently welcomed a baby boy in the US.
    Though neither of them has neither confirm nor deny the reports, Nigerians on Twitter are already expressing their opinions on the issue.
    Maria Okan recently had a baby shower for her unborn child with family and friends in attendance.
    The question on the lips of everyone is this:’Is Olamide responsible for her pregnancy?’

    Nigerian rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, widely known as Olamide Baddo has announced the arrival of his second child with fiancee, Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman, in Maryland, USA.
    The bouncing baby boy, named Tunrepin Myles Adedeji, arrived yesterday, July 1st 2019, as the singer made the announcement via his Instagram page.
    His birth comes 4-years after Olamide welcomed his first son, Batifeori Maximilliano Adedeji.
    The ‘Baddo crooner’ proposed to Bukunmi in 2018 on her birthday and disclosed the news on his snapchat page.
    Olamide wrote “My Senior Wife…Oya we all have a wedding to plan.”
    Bunkumi and Olamide started dating from the beginning of his music career way back in 2014 before the ‘Science Teacher’ crooner became very popular
    The rapper and his baby mama have been together since then.
     

  • Olamide pours encomium on Elumelu, Otedola in ‘Oil and gas’

    Olamide Adedeji, popular hip-hop star and YBNL boss has dropped the visuals for ‘Oil and Gas’, his recently released single.

    The video, which was released on Tuesday June 4th , is a fast paced groovy song tailored for the streets .

    In the song, Olamide pours encomiums on notable Nigerian business tycoons, Tony Elumelu and Femi Otedola

    “Tony Elumelu, wa bami jo s’ilu, Femi Otedola, e na mi ni dollar
    Asiwaju Jagaban, Ghana must go bag, oba elegushj, e na mi n kukushi”, he croons in the song.

    The visuals for ‘Oil and Gas’ is also coming a few weeks after he released ‘Spirit,’ produced by Pheelz, and his 2019 banger ‘Woske,’ produced by Killertunes.

    Budding singer, Lyta has debunked claims that he is signed to Olamide’s YBNL. Contrary to what many believe, the sonorous singer noted that Olamide just helped him to leverage on the YBNL platform.

     

    The ‘Self made’ singer made this known in a chat with Naijaloaded TV.

    According to him: “I don’t have any deal with YBNL or Olamide. Olamide saw me on the street and helped me, I don’t have any written contract with him… YBNL and Olamide with always be part of my story. God bless Olamide, thank you for everything. No love lost.”

    When asked about the benefits of his affiliation with YBNL, the singer said: “Yes, I was getting benefits. They used to pay me for shows. Sometimes 80k, 60k to 50k. But when I dropped my songs, ‘Temi’ and ‘Selfmade,’ I didn’t get anything.”

    Lyta also spoke about his family’s awful financial state, and his mother’s sight issues.

     

  • How to handle Police brutality- Olamide

    YBNL boss and rapper, Olamide Adedeji has urged Nigerians to avoid confrontations when dealing with police personnel.

    According to him, citizens should be very careful and sensitive when they are faced with any issue involving the police due to the incessant extra-judicial killings by security operatives.

    The celebrated entertainer made this known via his verified Twitter handle.

    Olamide noted that safeguarding one’s life was most important in such situations.

    He also cautioned the police to act better when addressing issues with the people, telling them to stop killing innocent citizens as it would add to the problems in their lives.

    He wrote: “What is really going on? What is the way forward with this killing and police brutality? It’s increasing everyday and I feel ashamed because I know we all can do better
    “And for you, oga police, no matter what you are going through just know taking an innocent life won’t solve your problem but add to your burden. We all can do better
    “Everyone out there please try and be safe. there’s nothing more important in life than keeping yourself alive.
    “I think it’s better you follow them to station than get into unnecessary argument that might lead to violence. We all can do better,” he wrote.

    Nigerian entertainers, Olamide and Eniola Badmus have been named as members of the economic transition committee by the newly elected governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun.

    We won’t forget in a hurry the war of words between Juliet Ibrahim and Nkechi Blessing. The talented actresses lashed out on each other over a slap Arole gave to Nkechi during the shoot of a movie.

    Nkechi uploaded a video on her Instagram page which triggered the feud.

    In the video, she was captured being slapped by Nigerian comedian, Arole. Nkechi however called on the director of the movie to cut the scene because the slap was too intense.

    Juliet Ibrahim, via a comment on Nkechi’s page, noted that telling the director to end the scene isn’t professional.

    This resulted into an intense exchange of words between the two role interpreters which began yesterday.

    In 2018, the fashionable Edo State born actress, Mercy Aigbe got enmeshed in one social media trouble or the other. The beautiful role interpreter was in the news recently when it was speculated that her new mansion was gifted by a governor.

    1. Tiwa Savage -Wizkid

    We won’t forget any time soon the storm created by Wizkid and Tiwa Savage after Wizzy released the visuals for his song ’Fever’.

    The provocative video features pop star, Tiwa Savage who doubles as a sexy vixen and the Star boy’s love interest.

    From lustful stares and near-kiss scenarios, the chemistry between Wizzy and Tiwa was just palpable in the visuals, making their fans speculate that there may just be more to their relationship than the musical synergy they share.

     

    1. Burna Boy

    Burna Boy sure outdid himself this year with his sequence of hit songs released back to back. This aided the singer’s ‘Outside’ album which was released to critical acclaim in January.

    We won’t forget in a hurry the role Funlola played in the movie ‘Tatu’. Funlola portrayed excellently the character of a catholic nun. She took on the character like a garb and gave it her best shot. Little wonder the movie got her a nomination at the 2018 edition of African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

    Nigerian pop stars, Wizkid and Olamide are no doubt kings in their own music domains. However for the first time, the artistes held their December concerts on the same day , Sunday 23rd of December 2018.

    While Wizzy used the Eko Atlantic for his concert, Olamide resorted to the popular Eko Hotel Convention Centre.

    Afro-pop superstar, Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun, made a surprise appearance at the concert — despite having his own show on the same night.

    The pair performed their hit collaboration, ‘Kana’to the excitement of their fans.

    Recall that in an interview, Olamide had stated that his show coinciding with that of Wizkid portends no negative effect.

    “It is true that the two shows will happen on the same day. The population of Nigeria is huge and everyone cannot fill up one event centre.I believe the sky is big enough for all birds to fly without touching each other. I honestly don’t feel there will be any negative effect. If you switch on your television set, I am sure you have many options; so, it is left for you to decide which station you stay tuned to. That is how I see things,” he told Punch.
