  • Olamide tackles drug abuse in new song, ‘Science Student’

Nigerian rapper cum founder YBNL Records, Olamide tackles drug abuse in his new song titled ‘ Science Student’. The rapper touches on the effect of drug abuse in this groovy song with a memorable catchphrase.

As chants of ‘Kosere Kosegbo(meaning, ‘no play, no injury’) ‘ dominates the Afro-pop tune, the self acclaimed Baddo condemns the intake of drugs, ‘Chemicals’ and vicious smoking among young Nigerians

Though Olamide doesn’t particularly take a direct stand against the consumption of these harmful substances, the talented singer employs sarcasm in passing his message across.

The song was produced by Young John and BBanks.

  • I was lucky to achieve my dreams despite being a dropout- Olamide

Nigerian rapper and record label boss, Olamide Adedeji, aka Olamide Baddo, has said he was lucky to achieve his dreams despite being a dropout.

Olamide’s statements were recently misconstrued when he told a group of students last week how he dropped out of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, when his parents could no longer sponsor his education.

His statements generated a myriad of opinions with some people asserting that his story could actually have a negative effect on the students because he eventually became successful without going to school.

“I was lucky to achieve my dreams despite dropping out of school. I left the university because my parents were not able to pay my tuition fees; as such, leaving school wasn’t of my own making. If there was money, I definitely would have remained in school. You don’t have to drop out of school to fulfill your dreams. However, if due to one reason or the other, you are unable to complete your education, you should also know that you can still succeed regardless.”
