Following the rumours of tenure extension for Inspector General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, the Nigeria Police Force High Command has said there was no extension granted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Instead, the law governing the tenure of the IGP’s office was properly applied.

IGP orders deployment of Women Commissioners of Police, others
Following the approval of his recommendation by the Police Service Commission, the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the deployment 35 Commissioners of Police to various state commands and formations across the country.
