OMO-AGEGE secures N80bn Presidential approval for reconstruction of Sapele Benin, Amukpe/ Agbor roads

    * Gets support of CCN/OAIC

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release N80 billion for the reconstruction of Sapele/Benin Road and the Amukpe/Agbor/Uromi Road.

Deputy President of the Senate and governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, made the disclosure during a meeting with members of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN), which held in Sapele, Monday, November 28.

He recalled that as soon as he became Deputy President of the Senate he requested from Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, to know the status of the road all the way from Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) to Agbor. He said this was because he knew the contract had been awarded previously and hence requested for a review so he could put it in the Niger Delta Development Commission budget. He explained that because Okowa felt he would not get the political credit, the issue died.

But recently, with the reconstitution of the NDDC board, President Buhari ordered that N500 billion naira of the Commission that was frozen be released for development projects and the sum of N80 billion was approved when he pleaded with the President to consider the Sapele/Benin Road and the Amukpe/Agbor Road.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege said it would be insanity to repeat the same thing over again and expect different results. This he said, was what it would amount to by continuing to hold onto Okowa through his anointed proxy, both of whom have collectively failed to developed Delta State.

He assured that when elected as governor he would create an enabling environment for companies that left the State as a result of insecurity and other factors to return. “When I become governor in May 29, 2023 I will not wait for the Federal Government before constructing strategic roads in Delta and ensuring the implementation of the local content law so as to provide job opportunities for our youths.”

Speaking on the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC presidential and vice presidential candidates, Omo-Agege said, ” we want power for development and progress. That’s what we use power for. Tinubu has a wife who is a Pastor and if he could not islamize his wife, how would he be able to islamize other Nigerians?

“I believe that after eight years of Buhari it is only fair and equitable for power to move to the South. I put all my strength into it. Governors of the APC supported it. All governors of Southern Nigeria supported it, met and signed a Communique in Asaba. Okowa read the Communique.

“But no sooner had that been done, during the PDP national congress, Okowa asked delegates of Delta to vote for a Northerner. Yet, he is the one crying about a Muslim-Muslim ticket. The same Okowa that said take the presidency back to the North, just give me vice president?

“The focus should be who can bring development to our people. Okowa who is a Christian has he changed anything, are Deltans not crying?”he wondered.

Senator Omo-Agege also dismissed the views in some quarters that because his father, the late Justice James Omo-Agege was an adherent of African Traditional Religion, specifically the Urhobo “Igbe” movement , he was also one.

He said while the Constitution of Nigeria guarantees freedom of religion and to that extent, he could not dictate the religious choices of his father, so too, his father could not dictate his own personal choice of religion. “As a result of this, all my siblings and I are devout christians of the Catholic faith. Christianity is a conscious choice for us, “ he explained.

Earlier, Chairman of Christian Council of Nigeria, Delta State chapter, Rev Dr Jonathan Iwhiwhu, highlighted the contribution of the Church to development and called for assistance in terms of construction of a secretariat and official bus.

He had drawn Senator Omo-Agege’s attention to the deplorable Sapele/Benin Road and the Amukpe/Agbor/Uromi Road. He pleaded that policies that negatively impact on the economic ventures of the church such as schools should be moderated when he becomes governor.

Rev Dr. Iwhiwhu also called for provision of job opportunities for the youths of the church as a reward for the church’s support for his election as governor.

The CCN is comprised of Baptist, Anglican, Methodist, African Church and the Church of the Lord ( Aladura) spread across the 25 local government areas of Delta State.

Meanwhile, the Organization of African Instituted Churches, OAIC, has presented a copy of the Holy Bible as a guide and scepter of authority to Senator Omo-Agege as he goes about campaigns across the State.

The presentation was made by Archbishop Jonathan Arhavwarien, Chairman of OAIC, Delta State Chapter, during a meeting with the body at St Lazarus Christ Church, Ughelli, today.

Speaking at the OAIC meet, Senator Omo-Agege lamented that despite the huge resources that accrued to the State by way of FAAC, IGR, 13 percent oil derivation fund, Delta State remained seriously undeveloped, pointing at the Ughelli/Asaba Road that has taken over 16 years to build but remains uncompleted.

He said he was fully prepared for the electioneering race, has an independent mind, can discern what is right from wrong to win and salvage the state from its the pitiable condition.

Senator Omo-Agege also pledged to support community policing that would complement the effort of the police and related agencies in curbing crime and criminality across Delta State.

He said as governor, he would set aside a budget that would provide funds for entrepreneurs to start something with the State government as shareholders. He criticized the unwarranted arrest of youths just because they carry laptops, without verifying who they actually were. “This is bad, instead, we will harness our youths’ potential and convert their ingenuity to economic opportunities.”

Archbishop Arhavwarien, had asked for his plans to support of the church, youths and women in the state. He also raised concerns on security of the State in the face of herdsmen/ farmers clashes, and the general industrialization of Delta State.

The organization gave its united support to Senator Omo-Agege, and prayed for his success of at the polls.

Dafinone, “Omo-Agege has done a lot for Delta APC to the point that we have less work to do in ensuring that he singlehandedly driving the process to a level where we are convinced that nothing will stop us from victory in House of Assembly, Representatives, Senate to Presidency

Speaking further, he said, “I started my political carrier in 1998 as a member of PDP and in 2006, I contested for the position of senate but lost at the primaries.

“I returned to same party to contest for the senate in 2011 and it was in the process of consultation that news came that there would be rerun in Delta state where PDP would contest with other political parties.

“Then, I was a member of the E.K. Clark movement and I consulted with them and I decided to leave PDP and joined the Democratic People’s Party DPP, in other to have a force in removing PDP government from power, where l contested for senate.

“In 2014, Sen. Pius Ewherido died and a bye election of called and I contested the primaries in DPP and won and then went ahead to contest in the elections but was unsuccessful in the elections because of PDP ringing.

“I joined the APC and in the APC I have found my home. It has been a long journey because in 2015 and 2019 the party was unable to form a formidable force to win but in 2022, our party APC is stronger, and has repositioned to take over Delta state come 2023.

“In the last few years we have undergone a process of consultations in the party and other stakeholders in Delta Central. This election will attract more people to APC because they see us as the winning team and we will continue to woe them to join us.”

  • Melaye to DSP: Nobody attempted to impeach Buhari, Omo-Agege’s a cheap revisionist

Melaye to DSP: Nobody attempted to impeach Buhari, Omo-Agege’s a cheap revisionist

…alleges his role in the mace saga was ignoble

Senator Dino Melaye who represented Kogi West in the 8th Senate and a member of sixth House of Representatives has described his former colleague now Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege as a cheap revisionist who was trying to cover up his inglorious act of leading thugs to disrupt the proceedings of the Senate in 2018 and seized the mace.

The Kogi born former lawmaker revealed this in a press statement in reaction to comments said to have been made by Omo-Agege at a campaign rally in Asaba last Thursday stated that there was no time in the four-year tenure of the 8th Senate that any attempt was made or plot hatched to impeach President Mohammadu Buhari as claimed by the Deputy Senate President.

Melaye stated that the issue in question when Omo-Agege was suspended and he led thugs to disrupt the session of the upper chamber of the National Assembly while also seizing the mace was the order of election that should be followed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2019 polls as it was to be included in the Electoral Act.

“You could see how incoherent and incomprehensible Omo-Agege’s statement was. He said he was “de facto chairman of the Electoral Act”. I have never heard of such a position or responsibility in the National Assembly before.

“As of the time of the passage of the Electoral Act 2010 (amendment) Bill in 2017, Sen. Suleiman Nazif was chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC.

“The 8th Senate had passed the Electoral Act 2010 (amendment) on March 30, 2017, two years before the 2019 election and five days after the passage, the then Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki visited President Mohammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa to brief him on the provisions of the proposed law. The President expressed his happiness over the proposed changes.

” So also the INEC chairman, Prof Mahmud Yakubu on a visit to the Senate leader said he and the commission were satisfied with the changes.

“It was a year after that, that the House of Representatives passed their version of the Bill and reversed the order of elections contained in the one passed by the Senate. The concurrence given by the Senate to the House version was what Omo-Agege and his cohorts in the Senate said they were protesting against because they believed it would jeopardize the re-election plan of Buhari if the presidential election came last in the order.

“That Omo-Agege is now spinning that situation by claiming an imaginary impeachment plot to justify his perfidious act of bringing thugs to disrupt a senate session and also seize the mace is condemnable.

” A Senator leading thugs to attack the chambers and forcefully halt a parliamentary session in a fascist manner? It is an endorsement of anarchy and only a person like Omo-Agege can be beating his chest over that type of shameful act.

“To think that this character wants to be governor of Delta State is a sad commentary on our democracy. Anarchists and people who have no pretension to any belief in the tenets of democracy should not seek positions that require them to be democratically elected”, Melaye stated.

He advised Omo-Agege not to seek to rewrite history as the truth is well documented and history will surely not be kind to him for the ignoble role he played in the 2018 saga.

  • 2023: Omo-Agege dedicates campaign to God, seeks divine support for victory

2023: Omo-Agege dedicates campaign to God, seeks divine support for victory

Deputy President of the Senate, and Delta APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has dedicated his campaign for the Governorship of Delta state to God, seeking divine protection and support for victory at the polls.

Speaking at the event which took place at the St Jude’s Catholic Church, GRA, Effurun, Friday, November 18, Senator Omo-Agege said he decided to begin his campaign with prayers in line with Jesus’ teaching of starting and ending any project with prayer.

He said his motivation to contest the Governorship election was the level of misgovernance of Delta State by the Gov Ifeanyi Okowa led PDP administration.

He said he was aware that the race was not going to be easy but was certain that with God all things are possible.

He appreciated the content of the homily and pledged to be guided by the sermon during the campaign and as governor when elected.

He hailed APC Delta Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie and Campaign Director-General, Elder Godsday Orubebe, for their support, saying they would be the first party Chairman and Campaign DG to unseat an incumbent governor in Delta State.

Senator Omo-Agege disclosed that he picked Rt. Hon Friday Osanebi as his running mate not only for his political credentials and experience but also to bridge the gap with the younger generation that would bond better with him.

He thanked God for uniting the APC as one solid bloc for the oncoming elections at various levels, and said the party is poised to win and make Delta State move forward again.

In his homily, Rev Fr (Dr) James Urien of St Paul’s Chaplaincy, Abraka, described Luke 4: 18 in the bible as where Jesus presented his “manifesto” before commencing his ministry on Earth.

Quoting the scripture, Father Urien said: “The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, proclaim release to the captives, give sight to the blind and set free the oppressed.”

He said everything Jesus promised in his “manifesto” he accomplished, stressing that Jesus did not give false hopes to the people, rather, he made himself a hospital by healing the sick, provided food by being the bread of life and was poor to make people rich.

“As you begin your campaign remember that God is the sovereign leader from whom all powers flow. People in government must learn to act as God’s agents who will bring succour to the people. Leadership must be people oriented and focused on directional governance for equal opportunities to all. Be truthful, sincere, honest, humble and prayerful.

In an intercession, the church, led by Rev Fr Mark Ozele offered prayers for Senator Omo-Agege and all members of Delta APC Campaign Council for God to continue to bless, protect and renew them.

They prayed “that God will grant them wisdom, understanding and success in the election and other endeavours, to provide good governance in the affairs of the party, Delta State and Nigeria.”

“As Omo-Agege and his running mate Osanebi have offered themselves to serve, we commit them to you, grant them the spirit of wisdom, may that spirit guide and direct their purpose.

“When they open their mouths to speak, may they speak with your grace. Grant them the courage of Jesus Christ who offered himself to serve, grant them moral integrity and self control. May they be selfless to serve the purpose of the State. Keep away from them evil apparitions, the spirit of deception, ungodly influence and ungodly friends.

“May they be safe by the covering of Jesus, protect them from the arrows that fly in the day and at night. We offer them to you that they may be safe in the hollow of your hand.

“As they traverse the length and breadth of Delta State, grant them protection. Let no power be able to shortchange their occupation of Government House, Asaba; may your favour open the way for them.

“Let every ear that hears their voices and every eye that sees their faces be favourable to them and give them their votes”, he prayed.

The intercession was followed by the celebration of the Eucharist conducted by Rev Dr (Prof) John Mark Ikeke , during which Senator Omo-Agege and wife, Mrs Rosemary Omo-Agege, partook in the Holy Communion.

The Delta APC led by Elder Sobotie, party chieftains and candidates for 2023 general elections, party members and supporters as well as relatives, friends and well-wishers accompanied Senator Omo-Agege to the church service.

His running mate, Rt. Hon Friday Osanebi, the Director General of the APC Campaign Organization, Elder Godsday Orubebe, founding leader of Delta APC, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Delta Central Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ede Dafinone; Member representing Ughelli North, South and Udu Federal Constituency, Rev Francis Waive; Central Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki; APC Leader, Chief Ayiri Emami; Former Presidential Spokesman, and Director of Campaign Communications, Olorogun Ima Niboro; Chief Adelabu Bodjor; Campaign Adviser, Chief Austin Izagbo; Secretary, Eugene Okolocha, Chief Ominimini Obiuwhewvi; Campaign Directors, Anthonia Ashiedu, Omasan Agbajoh and Rukevwe Ugwumba, among other leaders from across the State, were present at the church service.

Asaba Building collapse: A reflection of Okowa’s decadent administration -Omo-Agege

Delta State governorship candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), and Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has taken a swipe at Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa over the collapse of a building under construction at the Asaba Stephen Keshi Township Stadium, saying it is a reflection of decadence in his government.

The DSP made this assertion shortly after the incident which recorded three casualties, reportedly in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, Omo-Agege expressed pain at the nonchalance of the contractors engaged in the construction site.

He said the character and attitude of the contractors were a reflection of the overall character of the Okowa administration, which he described as cold and unfeeling.

Omo-Agege recalled a similar incident, a few years ago, in the same Stadium, when an overhead water tank collapsed during a live sporting event and killed one person, much to the embarrassment of Deltans.

He stressed that lives of Deltans and other Nigerians in the state seem to have lost value under Okowa because of selfish and narrow considerations, ineptitude when engaging professionals, and even in the observation of safety measures at project sites and across the state.

He questioned if the State government under Okowa was meeting financial obligations to contractors, stating that non release of funds could be an additional cause of the shoddy jobs that litter the state, and which now endanger the lives of Deltans and others within the state.

He expressed sympathy to those impacted, not only in this case, but by Okowa’s shoddy project governance in the state, and prayed for quick recovery.

He assured that ugly incidents such as these will be a thing of the past as soon as he becomes governor of Delta State, and urged all Deltans to give the APC the needed support in the 2023 general election.

…says NASS where he operates has been tagged the worst Assembly in Nig

…we are owing over $40bn courtesy of DSP’s docile Senate

The Delta State PDP Guber candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori has said the reign of the APC governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege was enmeshed in parochialism, greed and excessive abuse of power.

The Delta State guber candidate made this assertion at the inauguration of the party’s campaign council on Thursday describing the NASS the APC guber candidate uses to boast as the worst in the political history of Nigeria.

    Hear him:

“The other day I listened to the brash and unguarded utterances of the APC governorship candidate in Delta State. I wish to remind Deltans that all well-meaning Nigerians agree that the current Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, of which Omo-Agege is the Deputy President, is the worst in the history of Nigeria.

“Courtesy of this toothless, docile, and rubber stamp Senate, Nigeria’s external debt portfolio currently stands at $40b as at the second quarter of this year. With hyperinflation, naira free fall, escalating food prices, widespread poverty, dilapidated state of federal roads, labour discontent, and general insecurity, let Omo-Agege tell Deltans what these monies were used for.

“Lest we forget, Omo-Agege’s tenure as Secretary to the Delta State Government was characterized by parochialism, greed, abuse of power, and undemocratic tendencies.

“The records are there for anybody who cares to check. Let me stop here for now but suffice it to say that Deltans do not need a despot like Omo-Agege, but a liberal, broadminded, and selfless leader like myself who stands for equity and fairness.

And also to provide leadership in our fight to uproot the very bad governance imposed on Delta State in the past Seven and half years”.

Explaining the reason for the absence of Tinubu, Omo-Agege said; “Today, as you all know because of the strike in the aviation industry and the purpose of his coming is to visit the IDP camps and we can not get there by road and we have made arrangements to use helicopters to move our president in waiting to Kwale in Delta North, patani Delta south and Okwagbe in Delta Central but because of the strike we are not able to get helicopter For that we have decided to reschedule this visit for the next couple of days after the aviation strike has been called off. He has also told me that because of the empathy he has for the people, That I should announce the sum of 50million Naira to deltans who have lost their homes and livelihood and this 50million will be made available.

I want to thank all of you for showing solidarity to our presidential candidate Tinubu, i thank all of you and you are not going to regret coming here.

That is the reason we must chase Okowa away and his house boy. We don’t want his house boy to be the governor of Delta State. We must make sure we put an end to this borrowing, are we not tired of borrowing loans? Are we not tired of increasing school fees for our children? Are we not tired of this joblessness, are we not tired of not paying our pensioners?

Are we not tired of turning warri to a Keke headquarters? As you go back home talk to your people That we are tired of a governor led by a traitor. …advises him to commit political suicide by pulling out of presidential race

…as UPU hails Omo-Agege for quality representation

Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege has said the N400billion loans obtained by Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi are for his vice presidential ambition not for the generality of Deltans.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports the DSP made this disclosure when the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU hosted the frontline politician.

    Hear him:

The Deputy Senate President and Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senator Ovie Omo-Agege thanked the UPU for the sound welcome and promised to turn things around when he assume the position of Delta State Governor in 2023, calling on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to commit political suicide before the general elections by withdrawing from the Presidential race for been a traitor to the South.

“The Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration is amassing loans everyday. When Governor Uduaghan left office, he left N80 billion in debt obligation and people were shouting that he almost destroyed the state.

“Today, it’s about N400 billion. And these loans are used for something you can see, nobody will quarrel with that. It is not a crime to take loans. America is indebted. It is one of the biggest indebted nations in the world”.

“Some people have also alluded that ‘You are the Deputy Senate President, Buhari has been taking loans’. Yes, I can tell you what those loans are being used for.

” Those loans are tied to projects. They are tied to the completion of rail projects, Lagos-Ibadan Express Road, Abuja-Kaduna Road, Second Niger Bridge and so on. Which projects here in Delta State are these loans tied to? The only project we now know that the loans are tied to is the execution of the 2023 presidential election”.

“After eight years, the President comes to the North, the VP goes to the South. After another eight years, the President comes to the South, the VP goes to the North. It is established. Though not written in the Constitution but it has become a convention like we have power rotation here among the three senatorial zones.”

“Now, after Buhari’s eight years as President, some of us went to him to know his thoughts about where the Presidency would come from. And the President made it very clear that after his eight years, the next President must come from the South. It didn’t end there.

” All the Northern governors of APC extraction (16 out of 19 Governors) all agreed that it is the turn of the South. Before this decision was taken, our governors in Southern Nigeria convened in Asaba. These are governors of different political parties. Okowa was the host, he gave them food, drinks, they signed an agreement. He read the communique. As he was doing so, he didn’t even allow the ink to dry before he betrayed them.”

    Commendation by UPU

The Urhobo apex socio-cultural umbrella body, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) Worldwide, also commended the Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship Candidate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege for being the shinning light of the Urhobo nation.

Specifically, UPU lauded the DSP for attracting projects across the nooks and crannies of Delta Central Senatorial District, even as it noted that he is eminently qualified to lead the state in 2023.

President-General, UPU Worldwide, Olorogun (Dr) Moses Taiga stated this on Tuesday when the Deputy Senate President, Omo-Agege paid a consultation visit to UPU executives in Okpare- Olomu.

In his welcome address, the UPU President General, Olorogun Moses Taiga who spoke on behalf of the Urhobo Nation, said the entire Urhobo has observed with satisfaction the quality representation of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, revealing that his is Eminently Qualified to be the next Governor of Delta State.

According to him; I wish to commend Your Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, on your enviable services to Urhobo nation and to Nigeria as a senator in the federal republic of Nigeria. I must commend you for great works and achievements for over seven years in the senate you have distinguished yourself as a worthy son of Urhobo son”.

“We thank you for attracting federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Urhobo land and also other projects in our dear urhobo nation prosperity will accord you the rightful place in history of our dear nation. We admired your eloquent and boldness in representing issues and bills in the national assembly”.

While stating that the Deputy Senate President has helped in setting the relationship between the Urhobo nation and neighbours in Delta State, south-south, and across the country through your energetic and cordial relationship with groups and communities, the UPU President General noted that the entire Urhobo people are proud of his roles in the past constitutional review exercise and impressed with efforts in the Nigeria electoral Act 2022 that has brought new hope in the country electoral processes and also thanking him for powering urhobo nation with Streetlights, new transformers and other major projects.

…charges Deltans to vote out PDP

The Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has accused the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa to have mortgaged the future of Deltans via reckless borrowing, charging Deltans to vote out his party PDP in 2023.

TheNewsGuru.com, (TNG) reports the DSP made this allegation at the inauguration of APC Campaign Organisation in Asaba on Monday, lamenting that the outgoing Okowa-led administration has held the state to ransome in the last seven years.

The governorship candidate assured that the APC administration in the State will establish a strong, resilient, inclusive and prosperous economy that generates opportunity, jobs and wealth, while lifting the masses out of poverty, through the implementation of people-oriented programmes and policies.

He lamented the humongous loans collected by Governor Okowa, pointing out that he is mortgaging the future of the state.

Omo-Agege said the PDP Governorship candidate and Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is a stooge of the governor and has thrown the principles of checks and balances to the dustbin.

Inaugurating the body, Omo-Agege said: “We must take back our dear State from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who with his cohorts, have held our state hostage. After over seven years of Okowa, one thing we all agree on is that there is a huge gap between the funds Delta State received, generated and borrowed; even recklessly, and what Okowa’s government has done. This has left our state seriously undermined in so many ways that are too numerous to count. Okowa misused and wasted our hard-earned resources. And when the state ran out of funds, he embarked on a reckless borrowing spree, thereby mortgaging our future and those of our unborn children.

“And now he wants to handover to his stooge, Speaker Sheriff Francis Oborevwori whose House which he heads, approved every kobo that was wasted and stolen to protect himself from accountability. For the years of Sheriff’s speakership, the Delta State House of Assembly has been a rubber stamp, giving everything Okowa asks for without effective oversight, thereby undermining the entire idea of the Separation of Powers enshrined in our Constitution as well as weakening our democracy.

“We all remember what happened to Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya when he dared to ask questions, when he tried to do his job and provide the checks and balances our Constitution demands. He was fired for trying to scrutinize executive actions as the legislature must do. And because power corrupts and absolutely power corrupts absolutely, we ended up with an uncontrolled state government that has since turned its back on the people of Delta State.

“It is common knowledge to all that the present ruling People’s Democratic Party – PDP in Delta has failed woefully in bestowing credible and visionary leadership to drive the yearnings of our people. In all development indices, Delta State under PDP cannot compete with neighbouring States in education, agriculture and quality infrastructure. This is a big shame for a State that had been a pace setter, first with our sister Edo, as Bendel, and even as Delta State since 1991. Delta State is the highest receiver of Federal allocation and 13 per cent derivation, yet, the State is also the second most indebted State in the country. The seemingly chaotic socio-political and economic environment in Delta State requires a leader with the necessary skills and knowledge, to work with a qualified team to address the systemic bottlenecks that have hindered the development of the State.

“Are we ready for another four years of that nonsense, another four years of plundering and stealing, another four years of drift? All of us here today do not want to see more of the past very terrible years of Okowa-Oborevwori tyranny. We want our state back. The gross misuse and total waste of scarce resources has cost Delta state so much and this must stop”.

He stressed that APC’s manifesto seeks to rebuild and reinvigorate the state by tackling the scary rate of unemployment by prioritizing public investment in agriculture and tech-driven entrepreneurship.

On his part, the Director General of the campaign organisation and former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Goddey Orubebe assured that the list of the campaign organisation would be expanded in the coming days.

He asked party members to cooperate with the campaign organisation, even as he called for unity and cooperation amongst party members.

“As many people as possible will be brought in to the campaign team. The campaign organisation does not know everything. We are ready to learn from everybody. Any idea you have bring it. We will sit down and work with you. Our office will be 24 hours open. We are ready to work with everybody”.

This sentiment was also shared by the state party chairman and Co-Chairman of the campaign organisation, Elder Omeni Sobotie who assured that the list would be reviewed.

He called on Deltans to vote all APC candidates across board.
