Deputy Senate President and Delta APC governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has visited survivors and family of victims who died in a boat accident on their way home from campaign rallies at Ugborodo/Okerenkoko, Warri South West local government area of Delta state.

Two of the surviving victims were recuperating at the Lilly Clinic, a leading medical facility in Warri, and responding to treatment. Five others had earlier been discharged from hospital.

At the Clinic, Senator Omo-Agege commiserated with the wounded, and directed the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Austin Okogun, to “do everything possible“ to ensure that they get the best medicare.

He also visited the family of Paul Ejoh, a 25 year old youth and member of the APC who died in the boat mishap. Speaking at the deceased’s family house at Erewori Street , Warri, he said the visit should have been, in different circumstances, to celebrate victory, and not for condolences, but “God knows best.”

“Difficult as it is, he was our own and he gave everything he had for our cause. I am told he has a wife and two siblings, and more painful, no kids yet.

“We will give the wife and siblings necessary support going forward. You can count on us. I pray Almighty God to grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Responding on behalf of the family, Pastor Friday Mala thanked Senator Omo-Agege for coming personally to commiserate with the family instead of sending a delegation. He said in spite of the circumstances, the family prays that he’s victorious at the polls.

    …promises to dredge Escravos bar

Deputy Senate President and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress , APC, in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has assured that an APC led federal government will work with the incoming APC State government to dredge the Escravos bar, and grant ships unencumbered access to Warri, Koko and Burutu ports.

He gave the assurance in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area, Monday, December 18, while addressing members and supporters of the APC during the party’s ongoing ward to ward campaign.

He asked the Itsekiri people to vote their son in-law, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President, and himself as governor of Delta State, “so that with concerted efforts between Tinubu and I, we would bring the much needed development to this land, starting by making Koko, Burutu and Warri ports work again.”

The APC guber candidate made a strong case for Joel Onowakpo Thomas, the party’s senatorial candidate for Delta South, as well as other candidates of the APC, whom he described as adherents that would give APC the needed support at various levels of government.

Senator Omo-Agege at the event demanded that former Delta governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, apologises to the Itsekiri nation over his near criminal neglect of his native Warri North local government area both as Secretary to the State Government for four years and Governor for a further eight years.

He accused Dr. Uduaghan of conniving with other Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, leaders such as it’s Senatorial candidate, Michael Diden, aka “Ejele”, to hoodwink them into supporting Okowa and his stooge, PDP gubernatorial candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, in spite of the obvious sufferings of the Itsekiri people

“This is Delta State, in 2015 and 2019, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa came to this place asking for your votes and promising to bring prosperity to all Deltans. He failed woefully.

“In connivance with Speaker Oborevwori, Okowa has collected over 3.5 trillion naira as FAAC and 13 percent derivation revenues; and another 270 billion naira as 13 percent refunds. He has borrowed an additional 400 billion naira, yet, there is no development project worth 200 million naira in Koko”.

According to him, almost all projects on ground in the town were influenced by Dr Alex Ideh, a foremost APC leader, when he served as Commissioner under former Governor James Onanefe Ibori.

“This is Uduaghan’s local government area. He was SSG for four years, and had power to influence development projects. He was governor for eight years, but see his local government. He disappointed his own people, and now he wants to join forces with Okowa to further punish them.

“My late grandfather, the Nana of Koko, was, in the words of the curator of the Nana Museum which I influenced to Koko, the governor of Benin River. By God’s grace, I am going to be governor of Delta State and I am going to be a good governor. I promise that the Koko/Ugbenu Road that was abandoned by Uduaghan and Okowa will be fixed. The Koko stadium project which started in 2008 and was abandoned by Okowa and Uduaghan your son will be completed by me, also your son, as governor.

“I commit that I will put a hospital in Warri North that will take care of the health needs of the people. Given the level of contribution to the State economy, I commit to site a State owned tetiary institutions each in Ijaw and Itsekiri lands. It is your right. You were denied by Uduaghan and Okowa, but I will restore them to you.”

He admonished the people not to fear “Ejele” on election day. “I, Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate, will ensure adequate security to protect you as you come out to cast your votes,” he said.

Earlier on, Dr Ideh lamented the level of infrastructure decay of Koko and called for total support of APC candidates during the elections.

In his remarks, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, founding leader of the APC in Delta State, charged the Itsekiri people to mobilize Deltans to vote Tinubu and Omo-Agege being their in-law and kinsman respectively.

According to him, the Itsekiri nation has never had it so good, with the APC presidential candidate, an accomplished politician, as their in-law, and the APC governorship candidate as a grandson of the Nana of Koko.

Meanwhile, Senator Omo-Agege has ascribed the festering Aladja/ Ogbe-Ijaw conflict in Delta state to official wickedness of the Okowa/PDP government. Speaking when the campaign touched down in Ogbe-Ijaw, he said the Urhobos and Ijaws of the Niger Delta are one and the same people, and that the state government was, by divide and rule, benefiting from an unnecessary conflict.

He pledged to move with dispatch to resolve the issues that sustain what he described as a quarrel among brothers, while pleading with all parties to cease further hostilities.

Senator Omo-Agege’s running mate, the youthful Rt. Hon Friday Osanebi, told the Ijaw and Itsekiri people at the rallies that the ruling PDP has obviously become the opposition party in the state, given the massive acceptance the people have shown APC.

In a statement titled “We Will Not Abandon You Like They Did,” he said: “You have openly showed us that your hearts, minds and most importantly your votes are with all candidates of the APC and this we appreciate.”

  • 2023: Omo-Agege ahead others to win Delta gubernatorial election, says Ex-Presidential Spokesman

2023: Omo-Agege ahead others to win Delta gubernatorial election, says Ex-Presidential Spokesman

Former Presidential spokesman and Director, Communications and Media Strategy of the Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council, Olorogun Ima Niboro, has predicted that an overwhelming number of Deltans will vote Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as governor in the 2023 general elections.

Niboro made the assertion on Sunday in Lagos while speaking to newsmen on the progress of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s governorship campaign.

He said the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led People’s Democratic Party, PDP, administration in the state has effectively alienated and sidelined the majority of the people, treating them as outcasts in their own state. He said that the government’s policies and open avarice have created severe hardship and swept the people into deprivation and despair.

He described the level of poverty among the generality of the people in Delta state as staggering and unacceptable, pointing out that Deltans have never had it so bad.

“ For a state that has received well over 3.5 trillion naira in the last seven and a half years, and has inexplicably gone ahead to borrow another 400 billion naira, the level of poverty, lack of development, decrepit infrastructure, hunger and deprivation are unimaginable.

“In Delta, poverty and despair, hunger and disease swagger down unpaved roads unchecked and unchallenged. Anger flares into violence routinely, because a hungry man is an angry man.

“But the people are tired and eager to make tangible and irreversible changes in governance by kicking out the PDP and the coming elections provide the perfect opportunity. More than ever before, Deltans are reflecting on their objective conditions and making clear headed decisions about their future.

“I can tell you that the people are desperate for change. Change that is meaningful, change that brings progress and jobs, the type that makes local economies boom again and puts food on the table for families. Deltans yearn for change that is tangible and enduring, change that creates security and enduring peace, change that brings employment and empowerment, change that makes a long suffering people smile again.

“This is the promise of Senator Omo-Agege and the APC. Our candidate’s EDGE agenda captures the most urgent needs of our people. EDGE is an acronym for Employment and Empowerment, Development, Good Governance, and Enduring Peace and Security. Upon these four pillars rest Delta APC’s governance strategy post 2023.

“We shall be prioritizing Employment and Empowerment for our people. Deltans who inhabit the second richest state in Nigeria have been victims of vacuous leadership, leading to alarming poverty and deprivation. So the first and most urgent task is to put money in people’s pockets, and food on their tables. The way to do this is by empowerment of various means, with employment as only one of several strategies.

“Developing our state has taken on an urgency that was once only a distant dream. We have the resources, we have the people. What we have lacked, and which Senator Omo-Agege brings to the table, are vision and willpower. The APC government will open up the state to investors, take it to the top of the Ease of Doing Business index, and break down red tape and excess government,”he said.

Explaining the inter connectedness of the EDGE agenda, Niboro said:”whatever your plans are, they must be backed by a governance structure. Therefore good governance is central to our agenda, all of which will be backed by Enduring Peace and Security, without which you can achieve nothing “

The former Presidential Spokesman emphasized that Omo-Agege seeks to reset the economic parameters of the state. For instance, he said, the proposed Delta State Employment, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Programme, DEEP, is geared towards swiftly turning around the unemployment scale as a way to pull people out of poverty.

According to him “our target is to create the right environment and support mechanisms, including structured state guarantees for escalation of employment and job opportunities.

“We also propose to create a one stop shop for investors, improve governance structures, adopt zero budgeting as a tool for effective financial management, while deploying our best brains for further critical thinking on how to sustain the momentum of growth and development.”

…outlines plans to make Warri, the Oil City, boom again

All persons, irrespective of ethnic and religious background, as long they are resident, do business and pay taxes to the Delta State government, are equal stakeholders in the State and therefore will enjoy equal benefits without discrimination.

Deputy Senate President and governorship candidate of the Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, gave the assurance in a meeting with muslim leaders in the State, Saturday, December 17, in Warri.

He frowned at the reported discrepancy in school fees paid by indigenous and non-indigenous students in tetiary institutions of State saying when he becomes governor, that policy will be abolished.

“As far as you are in Delta State, whether you are a Christian or a Muslim, you will pay equal school fees for your children. You are all Deltans, you reside here and pay taxes so you are equal stakeholders and you must enjoy equal benefits.

“If there is a job opening both children of Christians and Muslims are free to compete and have equal employment opportunities. They will all be considered equally, no discrimination.

“The same principle of fairness will be applied for pilgrimages. As the State government sponsors Christians to Jerusalem for pilgrimage so we will sponsor Muslims for pilgrimage to Mecca.

“I assure you that I will carry you along. There shall be a Special Adviser from among you who will interface between my government and the muslim community, and also in terms farmers and herders relationship.”

He recalled that the muslim community gave him support in 2015 which saw to his election as senator, and described them as valued stakeholders in the State.

“So long as you own a PVC you have a right to determine how you are governed. You are all here, you reside here, when it is good for us it is good for you and when it is bad for us it is bad for you. You should know how the State is governed, where we are and why we are where we are. I am sure you know that in the past seven and a half years we have a government that has been led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Speaker Sheriff Oborevwori. They have received over 3.5 trillion naira from the federation account and yet you see the state of our roads, retirees have not been paid and some have died; yet we are the richest State in Nigeria. Something is wrong somewhere.

“Since you chose to leave your various States to come and live in Delta and we have accepted you, you have a right to your fair expectations. I am sure the Delta State of your dream is not what you are seeing . That is why I have offered myself to be governor. I have a social contract with all Deltans irrespective of ethnicity and religious leaning, that so long you are resident in Delta State you have right to equal opportunities.

“We will attract companies back to Warri and the old oil city will boom again. Warri, Koko and Burutu ports will be reactivated. As long as your women are resident in Delta, we will guarantee bank loans for their businesses.

“We will engage the ingenuity of 60 per cent of the State’s population who are youths and channel their creativity through tech hubs that would ultimately generate revenue for the State. We will invest and improve on our security architecture to ensure the prevalence of peace for businesses to thrive.

“I commit to you that whenever we decide as a government to make appointments into the Muslim pilgrim board, we will consult you.” Omo-Agege said

Earlier on, the Chief Imam of Oghara, Alhaji Mohammed Maija, had complained that Muslims in Delta State were marginalized in job opportunities for their graduate children, in government appointments, and in payment of school fees in the State’s tetiary institutions. Over 500 Muslim leaders attended the meeting.

A day before on Friday, December 16, the APC governorship candidate in continuation of the party’s ward to ward campaigns visited Okumagba avenue, Ugbuwaguen and Igbudu areas of Warri, during which he promised that when elected governor, he would upgrade the Osubi airport to an international airport status.

He took note of the poverty that pervades Warri Township and tolls on it’s citizens and said there are only two months left for the people to decide their future and urged them to vote APC candidates during the election.

Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, an APC leader, in his remarks, gave assurance that with Senator Omo- Agege as governor, the yearnings of the people for human and infrastructural development will be achieved and life in Warri will bounce back again.

2023: Omo-Agege blows hot, warns political parties plotting to harass APC voters

…threatens to invoke wrath of the law

Deputy Senate President, and All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate in Delta state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has warned political parties aiming to harass APC voters in the 2023 elections to step back or face the full extent of the law.

Senator Omo-Agege, who led the APC ward to ward campaign trail to Warri South Local Council on Friday, 16th December, promised voters adequate security, adding that any attempt to scare away APC supporters and voters on election day would be forcefully resisted by all lawful means.

He assured APC voters that “ nobody can scare you. Nobody can molest you. There will be adequate security for everyone. And by God’s grace, we shall win.”

Senator Omo-Agege said the era of “local strongmen,” running away with election materials is over. This is the BVAS age, he pointed out, and those planning to chase away APC voters shall be “firmly resisted.”

He promised to reactivate the Warri port, ensure the Warri City Stadium works again, revive the Warri industrial park, and attract the various companies that left Warri back to base. He also pledged to increase students bursaries, empower women, create job opportunities for the youths and provide adequate security in the State.

In his remarks, Delta APC chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, said Warri under Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is the Keke capital of Nigeria, and is looking increasingly deserted. He therefore charged the people to express their anger by voting out Okowa and the PDP.

“Vote Okowa out. He is a traitor. Can’t you see that he has no Deltan of repute on his campaign trail? He is on his own,” Sobotie said.

APC political stalwarts in Warri, including Chief Ayiri Emami, Barr Omasan Agbajoh, Mario Onwume, Dr Michael Merogu, Emmanuel Ekpoto Ekpoto, among others, also urged the people to reject Governor Okowa and PDP outright.

Dr. Merogu, House of Assembly candidate for Warri South Constituency 1, described Senator Omo-Agege as reliable and dependable, saying with him as governor, Warri will rise again, and called for support for his election and total rejection of Okowa and PDP.

House of Reps candidate, Ekpoto Ekpoto, said the PDP is angry because with Senator Omo-Agege as governor, Warri Port will work, Warri Stadium will work and the Warri industrial park will be reactivated. “They are angry and we have rejected them,” he said.

Also speaking, Barr Agbajoh, a former commissioner, said Governor Okowa has no respect for elders and called for greater women inclusion in the in-coming Omo-Agege government. She assured that the APC candidate will be accountable and committed to the development of Delta State.

APC chieftain, Chief Emami, who rang in a chorus and stole the show declared: “This is our town. We, Urhobo, Yoruba, Isoko, Itsekiri, Igala, Hausa, Igbo, Calabar people, everybody is here. One man said he will spoil this town for us. We refuse. APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our in-law. It was by the force of in-laws that Delta State capital was taken to Asaba. This time, we have the in-law and we will use him well to develop Warri. I don’t support any PDP candidate and any of my followers should not support them otherwise, the ancestors will deal with you. I told you not to support Okowa but you did because of money, how is it now? We reject Okowa and PDP this time around.”

APC Chairman, Warri South, Mario Onwume, earlier on, said the people must take their destiny in their hands and stop the PDP at the polls.

“We want the light that Omo-Agege is shining in Delta Central to shine in Warri South local government area. We are convinced he will do better and we must work hard to secure victory. We reject Okowa and PDP,” he said.

2023: Omo-Agege storms Itsekiri, says it’s time to liberate Delta from sycophants

Deputy Senate President, and Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has said that it is time to liberate Delta state from sycophants and cheerleaders, who, in the face of clear evil being meted to the state, continue to cheer on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his cohorts in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Speaking at Gbokoda, in the Itsekiri waterways of Delta State, as part of the APC ward to ward campaign, Senator Omo-Agege said: “ During the two hour by boat ride from Warri to Gbokoda, all that came through my mind is that this is an oil bearing area. The bulk of the money we receive by way of 13 per cent oil derivation is a function of this local government, Warri North. But look at the area, is there any development that is commensurate with your contribution?

“In spite of this marginalization you still have some Itsekiri people clamouring that wherever Okowa goes they will go. Somebody is using your money to enslave you and you are clapping and dancing for him? It is your contribution to the national economy that qualified Delta State to receive 3.5 trillion naira which Okowa has collected for the past seven and a half years and on top of that, Okowa and Sheriff have borrowed over N400 billion.

“Okowa didn’t consider any portion of the Itsekiri nation important enough to site a tertiary institution. Why are people like Michael Diden (Ejele) and Emmanuel Uduaghan not angry and are dancing after Okowa?

“I am angry and I know the Itsekiri people are angry. You have a chance to remedy this problem and make sure that everything that PDP and Okowa represent are chased away on election day.

“I am certain that Okowa has not stepped a foot on Gbokoda and he has been governor for seven and a half years. Meanwhile, this is where the crude is produced. He won’t even come here to see the very deplorable conditions the people are living in.

“When I become governor, I will develop the Itsekiri nation. With the collaboration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, your son in-law, as president, we will reactivate the Koko, Burutu and Warri ports. I will make sure that you have the necessities of life.

“A two hour boat ride to Warri, say, for a woman in labour it would be very risky for mother and child. We will build hospitals so you do not need a boat ride for two hours to get medical attention. Take it from me, when I become governor, you will get electricity so that our people can be happy and enjoy their lives again, ” he pledged.

Also speaking, Hon David Yinka Atie, House of Assembly candidate of the APC for Warri North; Bawo Kutu, youth leader of Ajamita, a neighbouring Community to Gbokoda; Engr Olley Endurance, PRO of Gbokoda Community, and Prince Engr Evans Omatsogunawa all expressed hope that Senator Omo-Agege’s visit would usher in great things to the community

“This has never happened before in the history of politics in our local government area, that we have a governorship candidate come to the ward level, “Hon Atie said.

“He is the first governorship candidate to come here. Chief Obafemi Awolowo was the last person to come here in 1979 and his visit brought many good things and we are sure this epoch making visit of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will bring great things to us,” Engr Endurance remarked.

Coroborating, Prince Omatsogunawa, an indigene of Gbokoda, said Awolowo was the first national figure to campaign in Gbokoda, and when he came he identified with the people.

Itsekiri political leaders who received Senator Omo-Agege included Chief Ayiri Emami, Prince Yemi Emiko and Engr Tuoyo Omatsuli.

Earlier on, Chairman of the APC in Warri North local government area, Omatseye Asabase, pledged to deliver all candidates of the party during the 2023 general elections.

Burutu: Omo-Agege vows to restore glory of Ijaw land

Deputy Senate President, and Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, governorships candidate has pledged to restore the glory of Ijaw land when elected governor.

Senator Omo-Agege, and his campaign train, on Tuesday, berthed at the Burutu wharf after a 75 minute boat ride from the Warri Club jetty. He was received by thronging crowds of party supporters and indigenes.

In his address, he expressed sadness that the once bubbling town of Burutu had become a shadow of its former self. He thus did not mince words in assuring the people of a new hope when elected governor of Delta State.

His words:” We are going to bring back the glory days of Burutu. The Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) that used to boost the economy of this town is dead and we have a governor who does not care for the Ijaw people. When Okowa was running for governor he promised prosperity for all Deltans, yet there is no prosperity here. He is a trickster. Burutu’s contribution enabled him to collect over 3.5 trillion naira from the federation account in the past seven and a half years. How much would it have cost to sustain the Delta Timber Industry (DTI) that used to provide job opportunities for people across the State here in Burutu. I am as vexed as you are over the wickedness of Okowa to the Ijaw people.

“Okowa’s priorities did not favour the Ijaw people. But the good news is that when I become governor, we will bring back DTI and make it functional again. The Ijaw nation under my government will have a State tetiary institution. We will reactivate the Burutu port. I already have the commitment of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when elected president, to make the NPA in Burutu work again. All those contributing to the economy of the State will be compensated and those not contributing will be taken care of.

“We will make sure the 13 per cent oil derivation funds are well managed for the benefit of Deltans. We are going to make DESOPADEC function as it should. We will attract other companies here to create jobs for our people. After I win, by God’s grace, I will return to consult you on other development projects that will make Burutu bubble again.”

Youths of Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State said Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is the first governorship candidate to physically visit Burutu to campaign for votes in 42years.

Former governor of the defunct Bendel State, late Professor Ambrose Folorunso Alli, was reportedly the first politician to visit Burutu to campaign, on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria ,UPN. That was 43 years ago in 1979.

The Delta State youth leader of the APC, Napoleon Kenerekedi, who made the revelation, added that no Governorship candidate of the PDP which has ruled Delta State since 1999 has physically visited Burutu to campaign for votes.

He dismissed Delta’s Governor Ifeanyi Okowa “as a very wicked person,” and said the Governor refused to site any project in Ijawland except a School of Marine Engineering in Okerenkoko, “because his deputy, Kingsley Otuaro, hails from there.”

“Okowa has been wicked to us and we will “reward” him at the polls next year,” Napoleon said.

Ambassador Anthony Ebitonmo, APC candidate for Burutu local government area constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, said Burutu used to be a major hub in the economy of Delta State “but in Okowa’s administration nothing came to us, even the said School of Marine Engineering he has abandoned.”

The campaign rally witnessed decamping of former PDP stalwarts who said they had been working for the PDP over the years.

” The PDP used us to sweep their floors and dumped us. We are tired of being used and dumped and have decided to cross over to the APC. “

Among the defectors were Ambassador A.B. Idolor, Dr Gradeone Clark, Chief Alex Emekeogha, their teeming supporters, as well as hundreds of women who expressed their dissatisfaction with the PDP and decamped to the APC.

Welcoming the decampees, State Chairman of the APC, Elder Omeni Sobotie said, “our banner is the truth and we will continue to preach the truth across the State and nothing can deter us.

“The era of writing results is gone, they can no longer write their fictitious figures. Nobody has ever celebrated their victory here but they will join in celebrating ours,” Sobotie declared.

2023 presents unique opportunity for Deltans to attain prosperity – Niboro

Former Presidential Spokesman and Director, Communications and Media Strategy, Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council, Olorogun Ima Niboro, has called on Deltans to take their future in their hands and enthrone tangible change in the state in the 2023 general elections.

He made the call in Abuja over the weekend while addressing newsmen on the progress of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s Governorship campaign in the state.

He stated that 2023 election is an opportunity for Deltans to make intentional decisions that directly impact their lives for the better. He said that poverty, despair, spiraling crime rate and avarice in public governance must come to an end in the state, and expressed hope that Deltans would do the needful on election day.

“Our people are overwhelmingly desirous of change that is tangible and enduring, and there’s no better opportunity to demonstrate how they feel than during the coming elections. The level of poverty and deprivation in Nigeria’s most blessed state is staggering and unacceptable. “

According to him, “the indices of development and transition from poverty globally always involve direct, intentional actions and steps taken by the critical mass of the people given the right opportunity.

“ With the candidacy of Senator Omo-Agege and the erudite programme he has designed, the opportunity for Deltans is now.
Our people can follow a path of significant change and make a break from a past of sustained poverty in our land”

“Given the solid provisions and plans detailed out in the APC manifesto, Deltans can create something remarkable. Senator Omo-Agege’s economic programme re-envisions the parameters of development in the EDGE agenda, a programme that ends the alienation of the people.”

Niboro said the in coming APC government will “establish a one-stop repository of business knowledge and information to both local and foreign investors on ease of doing business; make strategic investments to develop appropriate business operations; enhance infrastructure; reform the public service; cut the cost of governance, eliminate waste and deny corruption and other crimes room to thrive.”

The former Presidential Spokesman said all citizens will easily connect with the Omo-Agege’s program of “massive jobs creation, and general economic opportunities for the people through empowerment and entrepreneurial opportunities.”

“Under an APC government, the people will witness the end of youth unemployment, second rate infrastructure, huge debts, rising crime and widespread poverty. We must therefore rise in one massive resolve to enthrone the APC’s solid programme as a sure way to pull our people out of despair and poverty and into prosperity and abundance.”

Said he: “Our target is to create the right environment and support mechanisms, including structured state guarantees for escalation of employment and job opportunities, the enactment of laws that empower women and give relief to small holder farmers in rural communities.”

He assured that under Omo-Agege’s leadership Delta State would witness increased budgetary spending on social safety nets to cover more vulnerable citizens and guarantee steady economic growth.

2023: Collapsed bridge an act of sabotage – Omo-Agege, Sobotie accuse PDP

…vow to continue to expose Okowa, PDP governance

Deputy Senate President, and Delta State All Progressives Congress, APC, Gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, have lamented the sudden collapse of a section of the Ohoro/Bomadi Bridge, early Monday morning, December 12.

The Ohoro/Bomadi Bridge, Monday, was cut almost by half and endangered commuters plying the road, raising fears of sabotage of the planned APC ward to ward campaigns scheduled for Bomadi and Tuomo on Monday.

They asserted that the collapse may have been due to sabotage, to prevent the APC campaign train from penetrating the riverine Ijaw areas of the state.

They assured teeming members of the party across Delta that no one can stop the Presidential and Governorship Campaign of the APC from going round the state to tell the people the truth about the misgovernance of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led PDP administration.

Senator Omo-Agege, at the rallies, expressed bitterness at the sufferings of the Ijaw people and promised to put a smile on their faces.

“As I was coming we saw that the Ohoro/Bomadi Bridge has collapsed either from lack of maintenance or sheer sabotage. And yet we have a governor who promised prosperity for all but there is no prosperity at all. Most painful is the fact that Delta State is a rich State where the Ijaw people have contributed greatly to the State and country’s economy. Over the past seven and a half years, the Okowa administration has collected over 3.5 trillion naira from FAAC allocations and borrowed over 400 billion naira. How much would it cost the State government to fix that bridge and do this road? That road is a deathtrap, cut to half, but Okowa and his stooge, Sheriff Oborevwori do not care, their concern is Owa-Alero, Okowa’s hometown, and the rest of us can go to hell.

“Since Ibori left has there been any development in Bomadi and Burutu? And Burutu is a major contributor to the economy of Nigeria. Upon Okowa’s wickedness he wants to bring Sheriff to punish you more. Okowa has deprived you of comfort and development. We must stop him from being vice president because his ambition is treacherous”

Senator Omo-Agege promised that when elected governor, he would fix, for ease of movement, the Gbaregolor, Ohoro/Bomadi and Akugbene Bridges. He also promised to bring a tetiary institution to Ijawland.

“We commit to you that we will connect a 33KVA electric power line from Ughelli to Bomadi to light up this area that has been in darkness for over 30 years.”

He solicited votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President so that with the help of the president, he would easily fulfill his campaign promises to the people.

Elder Sobotie on his part declared: “We saw what they did on the road and I want to assure you that no one can stop us from going round the State and telling the people the truth. No threat will stop us from going round to tell the people the truth and when they have known the truth, they will be free to use their PVC to remove the PDP from power.”

Earlier, Chairman of the party in Bomadi local government area, Kayode Tinaka, said Senator Omo-Agege was a God-sent to wipe away their tears. Another chieftain of the party in the local government area, Barr. Gabriel Yabaka, accused Governor Okowa of deceiving the Bomadi people when he promised to establish a polytechnic there but failed. “

“This is the only road we have in Bomadi, it is in bad state, we have been appealing to him to fix it but he refused,” he said.
