“I had been working since I was 15-year-old and I became a millionaire at the age of 18. That is a fact that a lot of people do not know.

“I had my own money. I was not dependent on any man. Moreover, I lost my father at an early age, so I was already responsible for my younger siblings. I was like their mother at that time, so I was very mature and financially prepared.”

Speaking in a chat with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Omotola said: “If you don’t know me, you would think I am extremely arrogant and that’s okay. I am not even trying to change that.People who are close to me know I am the most useless person, because I talk a lot.I am very playful, I am very careless among the people I love.I am not guarded. So the only time I can guard myself is when I don’t know you. That’s my personality and I have stopped trying to change that.

“About the arrogance that people think that I am, because you don’t know me, and because when I walk into a room I walk in so confidently,I cannot change who I am, that is who I am”.

  • I don’t take nonsense from anybody- Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

I don’t take nonsense from anybody- Omotola Jalade Ekeinde

Leading Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has said she doesn’t take nonsense from anybody.

The Last Flight to Abuja actress who would be celebrating her 25 years in Nollywood anniversary come November, said people seem to enjoy making her a villain.

“Unfortunately, I think people seem to enjoy making me a villain. I’m not too sure why but I guess because I have two sides to me. I have come to realise that people don’t like the real people. They like people who like to pretend and look perfect in everybody’s eyes but I’m me, I say what I mean and I mean what I say.

People who know me very well will tell you I’m very friendly, down-to-earth, very humble but I’m a no nonsense person. I draw the lines, I don’t take nonsense from anybody. So, once a woman doesn’t tolerate mediocrity and stupidity they want to label you and if you are a successful one at that, there’s even more problem, they want to turn you into a villain.

For me, I do the best I can, my soul is very clear, I know that I don’t go out to hurt anyone. I don’t go out to disrespect anyone and I don’t allow the rumours to get to me. Most of the people that come out to say things about me I have never met. I believe it’s just a perceived idea and some do it to get some sort of attention”, she told Vanguard.

Sharing some of the bumps she has experienced in her career, Omotola said:”There’s been a few. A few bumps on the road I guess. The first very obvious one was the banning of the artistes. That one took all of us by surprise. And then again it was a blessing because of that, we learned to diversify and to think out of the box. To the outward eye it seemed like a bump in the road but for those of us that adjusted properly it became a blessing to us.

“Another time, career wise, I would say, is transition into the cinema era. But in the long run it became a blessing too. For some of us who had gotten to a particular level in our career it was not particularly a seemingly good transition. It was like you had to drop yourself right back down to allow yourself to take it all in. You have to take a pay cut, you have to do things you didn’t have to do before. At a point, artists had to start promoting their movies themselves which was something strange to most of us. To me, it was a little bit demystifying. That was a bumpy transition as far as I’m concerned because you are starting a new market structure and people were doing unconventional things, in my own opinion, not too healthy for their brands”.

My daughter struggled with her sight growing up- Omotola Jalade

Sensational actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde stunned her fans when she took to her Instagram page on Wednesday, 4th of April 2019 sharing how her first daughter struggled with her sight during her early years as a child.

Omotola who declared Princess as her woman crush noted said that she was told her daughter’s ailment was going to affect her brain.

According to her:”She was barely a year, she started running a temperature, can’t remember how many hours anymore… she is our first child and we had not much experience.
Gave her some medication didn’t seem to get better…suddenly, she slipped into what seemed to be a COMA.
I panicked,we all did… neighbors everyone screaming and suggesting all sorts…. she was clenching her teeth fiercely, an Old woman we knew in the neighborhood suggested to put a spoon and pour SALT into her mouth (Totally wrong move)”Pls cold shower”…
We rushed her to the hospital and at first, the doctors were a bit reluctant ( I guess they thought it was a lost case) however, almost without much hurry she was worked on and miraculously, she came back!

She had prior turned cold and was not responsive… hmm
We were told , it was “High fever” it had affected her brain and she could probably not develop normally or be able to catch up with her peers. Short of saying a vegetable…. As people of faith, we called on God, used proper medication and most importantly, applied extra lessons and treated her Normal as others.
At first it was challenging, as she grew, she struggled, mostly with her sight. She couldn’t see things right in front of her! Even in school , she would be put in front and still not see. A few changed schools, glasses, extra lessons …we kept pushing.
At every level Princess Worked Extremely hard, harder than others . Always trying to prove everyone wrong and pass.
Every time we feared or doubted, she passed with flying colors and moved to the Next phase! Miracles before our eyes… Today she not only finished well from Uni, she insists on going for her Masters and is conquering all her fears.
Yesterday, she drove with her dad without instructions back and forth in traffic all around v.i.
You might not really understand this but anyone who’s been told they can’t achieve or do something especially for health reasons will understand.
This is the first time I am saying this in public and Many will be shocked, some might go,oh… now I understand… Princess, you’ve been an inspiration to Me without even knowing. May you inspire others too. God Continue to Bless you my #WCE “.
