    Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada undergoes leg surgery

    Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has opened up about her experience of undergoing leg surgery after enduring prolonged pain, shedding light on the unseen battles she faced behind the scenes.

    The 35-year-old actress, in a heartfelt post shared on April 29, 2025 on Instagram disclosed how she  silently battling leg pain for an extended period, while continuing to fulfill her professional commitments despite the discomfort. “Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realising the weight we bear behind the scenes,” she wrote.

    The outspoken actress also shared video showed moments from her surgery and recovery, where she learnt to walk with crutches.

    “Sometimes, we carry our pain so quietly that the world celebrates us without realising the weight we bear behind the scenes. I had been dealing with leg pain for so long, yet I continued to show up, walk through sets, and smile through moments—but deep down, I was weathering a storm. 

    “Eventually, I had to make a difficult choice: I underwent surgery. The thought of losing control over the simple things we often take for granted—walking, using the bathroom, moving freely—was humbling. But God… He held me. I’m still healing, but my healing is beautiful,” she continued.

    Expressing gratitude, Dada thanked her medical team for their expertise and patience, her friends for their support, and her family for their unwavering strength. She also extended empathy to others experiencing private pain, encouraging kindness and understanding.

    “To my doctors, thank you for your skill and patience. To my friends who visited, called, messaged, and showed love in various ways—thank you. To my family, your strength became my own.

    “And to anyone experiencing private pain: I see you. I feel you. I pray healing finds you. Let’s learn to extend grace. Not everything you see online reveals the whole story. Be kind. Be gentle. Life unfolds behind the scenes, ” she concluded.

    Omowunmi Dada laments over state of roads in Lagos

    Rising actress, Omowunmi Dada has lamented over the state of roads in Lagos. The ‘Omugwo’ actress noted that almost every road in Lagos is bad.

    According to her, Lagos residents get into pot holes because they want to avoid these bad roads.

    The Creative Arts graduate of the University of Lagos, made this known in a chat with Ndani TV.

     

    “Almost every road in Lagos State is bad .Everywhere you go to, your cars are getting damaged by the day. We get into potholes because we are trying to avert these bad roads.

    You get to wherever you are going to late, because of the traffic on the road making you look irresponsible. We cannot even talk about many people that die daily because of bad roads.

    Why are these roads not well fixed?One minute you hear the road has been commissioned, the next month you see that it’s bad. This is not good enough.I am a Lagosian and I am tired of bad roads in Lagos”.

    Omowunmi has also attributed her success in Nollywood to God’s grace.

    In her words: “I would say that the most important thing that has sustained me thus far in Nollywood is God’s grace because there are lots of talented people out there, so I’m quite privileged. I should also mention that hard work, dedication, perseverance and being focused have helped me to make a mark in the industry. At every point in time as an actor, ensure you put in your best in whatever you do”.

    ‘Oga Bolaji’ a brainchild of MaySeven Productions and KayKas Studios, is a flick that portrays the unknown elements of Lagos.

    Shot in the City of Lagos, the movie follows a 40-year-old afro beat musician, who has an indirect hand in a young girl’s death.

     

    ‘Oga Bolaji’ stars Gold Ikponmosa as the lead actor, alongside Omowunmi Dada, Idowu Phillips, Gregory Ojefua and Ronke Oshodi Oke amongst others.

    The film is directed by Kayode Kasum, who spearheaded the 2017 film, “Dognapped.”

  • My heart has been shattered a few times-Omowunmi Dada

    Anyone who has ever experience heartbreaks will tell you it’s torturous.A writer once said:” Never be ashamed of a scar. It simply means you were stronger than whatever tried to hurt you.”

    Apparently, Nollywood actress, Omowunmi Dada isn’t ashamed of her heartbreaks and that is why she has resorted to talking about it.

    Speaking in a chat on ‘The Boot’ a show anchored by Denrele and Frank Donga, the ‘Omugwo’ actress disclosed that her heart has been shattered a few times.

    Hear her:”I am that kind of person that always tries to make relationships work. My heart has been shattered a few times. At the end of the day, it just wasn’t working”.

     

    Dada went on to throw more light on one of her heartbreak episodes.

    “My friend advised me against it but I didn’t listen .It’s actually man matter, Yoruba Demon. My best friend fought me because of this issue; we actually drifted apart because of this issue. At the end of the day, it was really bad, it was such a bad experience”.

    When you think of Omowunmi Dada, three words describe the talented damsel, beautiful, classy and intelligent.

    Omowunmi who hails from Ogun State has starred in movies like Jemeji, Yes I don’t, Not right and others.

    The Creative Arts graduate of the University of Lagos has shared her thoughts on the trending subject matter of sex dolls.

    Speaking during a chat with TheNation, she said:”Why would I want to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t think that I’m enough? Who thinks he can substitute me with a sex doll or a sex toy? There is no point because there is so much to me. I’m unique, I’m beautiful, I’m wonderfully and fearfully made. So, if you do not see it, if you do not appreciate me that much, then there is no point. So, I’m not a huge fan of it. I don’t subscribe to it”.

    Omowunmi thinks sex is overrated, adding that It is a beautiful act but it’s best with the right person.

But there has been a huge delay on the project and that is why there tends to be some quiet; it’s just a matter of time.
