  • Gbenro Ajibade refutes marrying Osas Ighodaro to obtain US passport

Popular actor and model, Gbenro Ajibade has debunked claims that he married Osas Ighodaro, a Nigerian-American actress who doubles as his ex-wife, to acquire a US passport.

TheNewsGuru recalls that Ajibade publicly accused Osas of habitually neglecting their two-year-old daughter to party with friends. An accusation Osas didn’t react to.

Following speculations that their marriage may have hit the rock, there were conspiracy theories hinting that Ajibade dumped Ighodaro after getting his US passport .

In a recent chat with Ebuka on Rubbin Minds, Ajibade denied ever marrying the film star to mooch a “blue passport” off her as an American citizen.

“People are entitled to their opinion. Those are the bullets I’ll always have to take. I wear those shoes, I know what it feels like. I’m trying to be that responsible man. Regardless, I’ll always be there for my daughter. Right now, I’m trying to focus on work,” he said.

“If it was about that, I won’t go through doling a traditional wedding, involving families, doing a white wedding in New York and all that. Do you know how much I spent? It was way away from that. That just popped up when we started having kids.”

Asked if he is still in talking terms with Osas, Ajibade said he’s still in good terms with his ex to provide “cool parenting for the child” and would even do a movie with her if that came up.

“We were married. It didn’t work out. We went our separate ways. We’re divorced. It happened while I was in Atlanta. There’s no need to always bring back old wounds. No hard feelings. Till tomorrow, she’s still the mother of my child. I still got respect for her,” he said.

  • Toyosi Akerele slams Gbenro Ajibade over blasting wife on Instagram

Award winning social entrepreneur, Toyosi Akerele Ogunsiji has reacted over Gbenro Ajibade social media outburst shared on his Insta-story yesterday.

TheNewsGuru, TNG recalls that role interpreter slammed his actress wife, Osa Ighodaro over the neglect of their daughter.

The movie star took to his Instagram page on Sunday, February 17, 2019, where he condemned her for leaving their child in the hands of strangers so as to go party with friends.

“Who leaves their baby in the house and goes out to party with friends/events from 6 pm to 5 am?!!! It is not the first, second, third and fourth time, the other night you slept out you sent our baby off with a stranger to drop her off at home with the nanny so you can be out all night,” he wrote.

Reacting over his social media rant, Toyosi shared a personal story on her Facebook page, stating that Ajibade shouldn’t have resorted to calling his wife out on social media.

“This is my Son in my office, about 13months old in these photos in January 2019.
Mine is perhaps one of the most insane schedules a working woman can have. On this day, I had important meetings at work, my Husband had travelled and my Son was ill, I was scared to take him to Creche so I packed a crib, his bags et al and took him to work. I took breaks in between calls & typing emails to change diapers and feed him. I worked when he slept. That day, I learnt something very simple in a very profound way – RESPONSIBILITY TEACHES EMPATHY.
My colleagues came to check on my son & I seized the chance to tell the women to feel free to bring their children to work on challenging days like this if they have any.

“People who work with me know I give a lot of room & support to our female staff. I menstruate so I understand the days they are moody & cranky. I know people have to come to work on days their boyfriends are breaking their hearts. Women go through multiple challenges in the line of duty while chinning up Professional Careers.
I read the ignominious public commentary Gbenro published on social media about his Wife, Osas yesterday & I cringe for Women who “marry down”. To Bosses at Work & Husbands at home, if you’ve ever been responsible in your Life, you’ll know how to care & nurture. No one will need to teach you to be kind & liberal.
Even if Osas was ever wrong, that puerile outburst from an absentee husband/father is telling of his poor character.

“I don’t hold brief for Osas & I hope she adjusts where/if she should but a Man whose diatribe on social media was intended to destroy you is unfit for your Leadership & undeserving of your Love.

“One more reason I remain thankful for my healthy self esteem & radical mind which made me not marry till I turned 31 despite societal pressure but which also made me wait & live my life on my own terms until I met a grounded & solid Man who loves & respects me. Men don’t come factory fitted or with NAFDAC No. so there are no perfect men anywhere but Never Marry Down Ladies. Keep Growing – Everything Good will come.

P.S. Enemies, It’s a Monday so I’m working and this has nothing to do with Feminism”.

  • I grew up not feeling beautiful- Osas Ighodaro Ajibade

Actress and America returnee , Osas Ajibade married to actor Gbenro Ajibade, has revealed that she had self-esteem issues while growing up.

The svelte mother of one and ex beauty queen said social media has impacted the constant barrage of images of what beauty is.

According to her: “I grew up not knowing and not feeling beautiful. I know that will sound crazy to many of you, but it was the truth. I didn’t see myself as beautiful because initially growing up in the Bronx I didn’t see a lot of images of what I looked like around me besides my Mum. However, I felt it was important to share my story now, especially as I now am the mother to a beautiful daughter, have fans who look up to me and like every woman in this Social Media age am impacted by the constant barrage of images of what beautiful is and looks like” she told Bellanaija.

Osas further stated that her parents felt she shouldn’t suffer from low self sesteem , adding that they made her believe that beauty is inside out.

“But taking it back to my school days, not seeing images that resembled me in representations of beauty had a huge impact. I would see Hispanic Girls and they had fair skin, beautiful long hair, and exotic features and just didn’t feel beautiful. If I am honest, and this is a tough one to share, I had low self-esteem. My parents being so loving and supportive were concerned. They rightly felt that their child shouldn’t have low self esteem that she should know that is beautiful both inside and out so they put me through modelling school to help with my confidence”.
