On Sunday June 24, 2018, Adams Oshiomhole was sworn-in as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Party, having emerged as the preferred candidate on affirmative votes by the Party’s delegates from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory at the Party’s National Convention which began on Saturday June 23, 2018, in Abuja. Oath of office was administered on him by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami [SAN].
In administering oath of office on him, a smooth and successful transfer of power from John Odigwe-Oyegun; the pioneer Chairman of the Party, was thus concluded. Smooth and successful, so it seemed on the surface of things. The transfer of administrative baton was successful of course but it was far from being smooth.
The route of taking over from the pioneer chairman [John Oyegun] was laid with political thorns and many other visible plus invisible properties of war. Yet, Oshiomhole, with the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari and that of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu won the battle and took over that golden baton of leadership.
The man [Oshiomhole] came into the office of the National Chairmanship of the APC with his own peculiar style. It was a style of militancy. It must be acknowledged however that he did not invent this style of leadership at the entry gate of the APC chairmanship. As a labour leader, he rose to become the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress. He led the Nigerian workers’ movement when all workers in Nigerian; in spite of whatever sector they belonged, remained under one umbrella of a Congress.
He was almost as powerful as the Nigerian number 1 Labour Leader [I called him World number One Labour Leader], the late Pa Michael Imoudu of blessed memory, in matters of unionism. Incidentally, both of them came from the same geographical area of Edo State, bonded in the same language. His Khaki style of dress marked him out as a man always prepared for battles.
He is brilliant and eloquent in speech. Of course, he was brilliant from the beginning and brilliant still. These were the attributes that saw him through the turbulences of political unionism and gave him the leeway into political governance even as he emerged as the Executive Governor of Edo State with a two-tenure profitable achievement. These were the qualities he brought to the throne of the National Chairmanship of the All Progressives Party.
However, in spite of the encouraging resume with which he arrive the throne, it seemed there are one or two things he forgot to bring with him to the position. And the absence of these one or two things has now promoted his shortcoming to the pinnacle.
A cursory look at his performances since ascending the throne of the National Chairmanship would reveal that the type of arrogance he has displayed is the evidence that he forgot the very colourful characteristic of humility behind when he was packing his luggage for the journey.
It has also been seen that he is too rash and brash for the exalted office of the Chairmanship. How these malfeasances and irritating behaviours were not seen adequately manifested when he was a cherished labour leader and even as a Governor of a State beats imagination of many.
The first thing he did immediately after been sworn-in as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Party was to assume the executive authority of the government that the Party [APC] formed; whereas the government, though an off-shoot of the Party is a distinct and different autonomous Body from the APC. While the former is a creation of the Nigerian Constitution, the latter remains under the constitution of the Party – meaning that the latter remains purely inferior to the former.
Again, while he was elected as Chairman of the APC by members of the Party, using that piece of paper known as the “Party’s Constitution”, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is elected into office by the whole country as a Constituent; using the Constitution written by “We, the People of Nigeria” [forget either this opening paragraph of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, as amended, is one big fraud or not}.
Unfortunately however, Adams Oshiomhole; the astute labour leader, did not know the difference between his office as Chairman of a political party and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He thought that being the Chairman of a ruling party is tantamount to being the president of the government formed by the ruling party. What a fallacy and illusion!
While displaying this unglamorous ignoramus, he revealed to the whole world one of his greatest weak points, albeit that the “fire” in him has not been ice-caked with in-depth knowledge on the one hand. And in the other hand, by not knowing who controlled government between a chairman of ruling party and the president of the government of the day, he inadvertently presented President Muhammadu Buhari to all as a very weak leader who does not know what he is doing or who is not in control of affairs in the government. Let us prove this.
He brought a very germane issue about officials of this government, especially those appointed into office by the President, talking of the Ministers and other departments of government, as not performing in obedience to government rules and regulations.
There is nothing wrong with that observation made by Adams Oshiomhole because it is what every keen observer of Buhari’s style of government knows; in that the President operates more on abdication of Authority than delegation of Authority. A case in reference was when the President once admitted that his own appointed Inspector General of Police did not carry out his order yet; there was no sanction against the man who disobeyed his instruction to the detriment of Nigerians.
So, when Adams Oshiomhole, having assumed duty as the Chairman of the APC, directed his fury [which might be very genuine anyway] against the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, of not constituting Boards for parastatals under his ministry; an action the Chairman alleged bordered on corruptive tendency [which might be true as well] he spoke well as it looked, except that he did not allow “the profitability of wisdom to direct him”, as the Bible would say. Besides, he exposed the frailty and inadequacy of Buhari’s maladministration to all by emphatically saying that “if the President tolerates such from you, l will not tolerate it”, adding that “l will suspend you from the Party and see if the President will retain you in the government as a minister suspended by the Party.”
That declaration should not have come out from him as it manifested two maladies. One, he lacked the authority to function as President. It is the President that formed his cabinet and not the Chairman of the ruling party. The outburst therefore exposed him to the ridicule of a man without knowledge. Come to think of it, it is not on record that the Minister in question, ditto other Ministers, constituted the Boards that Oshiomhole almost killed himself for. Worse is the fact that the President did not raise as much an eyebrow against the Minister in question. This is one proof of Adams Oshiomhole’s indiscretion and infamy. Let us look at another one.
The recent battle of defection that came against the APC; mostly at the National Assembly where good number of members, including the leadership of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, left the ruling Party for the main opposition Party [People Democratic Party] opened another obnoxious door of infamy to the fact that Oshiomhole is more of a liability to the APC than an asset.
First, he described the defecting members as a people without political fixed addresses. He called them unprintable names, including referring to them as liabilities. He affirmed that APC would not miss them. He shouted it loud and clear to the top of his designed political roof of arrogance that he, as the chairman of the party, would not lose sleep over “those people without political character and heritage” referring to the defectors.
It would have been okay if he had stopped there but suddenly, Adams Oshiomhole developed insomnia; a serious tormenting sickness of not being able to sleep, as he started commanding the National Assembly to embark on the process of impeaching Dr Bukola Saraki; the Senate President [who also is the Chairman of the National Assembly] without showing any knowledge of the working system of the National Assembly.
He gave a deadline and specific methodology for the impeachment of the Senate President without enough and decent sagacity on behavioral pretense. He became so crude in the prosecution of his anger, which became uncontrollably obnoxious. He called both the national and international Media one time too often and each of such meet; he threatened brimstones appropriate for Armageddon fire, so much so that people started questioning the sanity of the man. In one of his moves to actualize his self-saddled assignment of perfidy, a security Chief became the casualty.
Yet, Oshiomhole would not bring himself under control. What he succeeded in achieving at the end of the day was nothing but bringing his Party [the APC] under ridicule and prompting President Buhari up as enemy of the National Assembly.
Today, the battle he so wished at the National Assembly did not come up as he cooked and expected it to be. The Distinguished and Honourable members of the National Assembly have all came to the anchorage of comradeship, leaving Oshiomhole to leak his dirty wounds.
The question that is begging for a succinct answer is this: Given these two instances amongst avalanche of blunders, is Comrade Adams Oshiomhole an asset to the All Progressives Party or a liabiy?

Then the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State and the hidden treasure of Dollars only, should be commanding our attention next week. Have you not heard of the gossip? There is a video clip that has gone viral in the social media showing the exalted Governor allegedly collecting bribe, strictly in America Dollars only, from someone. The fact that the Kano State House of Assembly did not start by debunking the story but instead moved into constituting a panel to investigate the matter, in mind, is giving the scoop some tilting of credibility. But we have to wait till next week before opening this Pandora box of stinking warms.

2019: INEC replies Oshiomhole, insists APC won't participate in Zamfara elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it stands by its statement that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not field candidates for the 2019 general elections in Zamfara.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, stated this on the sideline of the opening of a two-day validation workshop titled “Study on the cost of elections in ECOWAS Region” on Monday in Abuja.
“We have issued a statement on Zamfara and nothing has changed. We stand by the statement that we issued,” he said.
Yakubu re-emphasised that the deadline for submission of party candidates’ name to the commission was Oct 18, saying that it would give a full report on that after Nov. 18.
INEC had informed the ruling APC in a leaked memo that it would not be allowed to field candidates for elective positions in Zamfara in the 2019 elections.
The commission’s acting Secretary, Okechukwe Ndeche, in a letter to the APC said that the party was barred from fielding candidates for governorship, national assembly and state assembly elections.
The commission said this was because APC failed to comply with Sections 87 and 31 of the Electoral Act of 2010.
Parties, according to the act, were expected to comply with the timetable and schedule of INEC, which says that the conduct of primaries must be held between Aug. 18 and Oct. 7.
INEC said it received reports from its Zamfara office, indicating that no primaries were conducted in the state “notwithstanding that our officials were fully mobilised and deployed.”
The APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, later responded to INEC in a statement and said that the party had already arrived at a consensus before the deadline.
Oshiomhole said that following the high level of friction, disagreements and threats of violence by various political camps before the primaries, all the aspirants met at City King Hotel, Gusau, to find a truce.
“After hours of intense horse-trading, a consensus was reached within the spirit and context of the electoral act and the constitution of our party.
“This was done in strict compliance with Section 87 (6) of the Electoral Act, 2010 (as amended),” he said.
He said that the claim by INEC that no primaries were conducted could only be referring to its officials’ observation that actual voting did not take place.
The APC chairman said that conduct of primaries was not the only mode prescribed for producing candidates in the electoral act, 2010 (as amended).
“We, therefore, affirm that indeed, primaries took place in Zamfara State,” Oshiomhole said.
The party chairman also noted that PDP had similar issues in Kano State and wondered why INEC did not bar the opposition party from fielding candidates.
Yakubu further said that the commission would by the end of November print the outstanding Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“We have printed the PVCs for those who registered in the first quarter of 2018. We are right now simultaneously printing for those who registered in the second and third quarters.
“We are looking at the end of November for all the PVCs to be printed including request for transfer and relocation.
“Let me just repeat the assurance that every citizen that registered and who have applied for transfer or replacement will get his or her PVC before 2019 general elections.”
He, however, said that the commission had stopped every registration, request for transfer and replacement of damaged PVCs.

Primaries: Cross River APC chieftains protest, demand Oshiomhole’s resignation
…say national chairman is destroying the party
Some All Progressives Party (APC) chieftains in Cross River State have called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The chieftains, who took to the streets of Calabar with placard-carrying supporters to register their protest, were piqued that Oshiomhole had refused to recognize the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Usani, as the governorship candidate of the party in the state, despite a court order to that effect.
Federal Commissioner of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Cross River State, Mr Sylvester Nsa, accused the national chairman of impunity, saying if he continues, he would destroy the party.
“The people of APC in Cross River have gone out to protest against impunity, injustice and total and blatant refusal to respect court ruling by the national chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole. His attitude in recent times has made us to understand that Oyegun, the former chairman, was a saint and angel. Therefore the people of Cross River State are angry that Oshiomhole has brought impunity in Cross River State and not only in the state, the action of Adams Oshiomhole will destroy APC in Nigeria.
“The people of APC across the country, rise up and tell Oshiomhole that he cannot destroy APC, therefore in Cross River State, Usani is right. Usani is the answer. No Usani no election. We want the whole country to know that Usani built the party. He nurtured the party. He is the leader of the party. He stands to protect the interest of the common men and that is why, the people of APC in Cross River have stood their grounds that without Usani, there is no APC in the state. I stand here as one of the leaders in the party in the state to declare that Adams Oshiomole should be called to order. This is a man that is a beneficiary of court order. He became a governor because of court order and today Oshiomhole does not want to honour court order. Therefore he must be called to order.
“I call on the judiciary to stand up otherwise, the action of Oshiomhole is a total play down on the integrity of the judiciary. It is an insult to the judiciary, it is an insult to democracy, so we call on Oshiomhole to leave Cross River State alone. He must leave us alone, otherwise, he would come to Cross River and walk alone because the people are angry and they have spoken that they want Usani. If it was court that made Oshiomhole a governor, he must respect court order. He is a man of impunity. He should resign otherwise if he continues, he will destroy this party,” Nsa said.
The Director-General of the Usani Campaign Organization, Pastor Ekpenyong Cobham, also said, “This march is a clear message to the leader of this party, which is the President, that Oshiomole is toying with the election of the President. He is toying with the soul of APC. We will not accept impunity. Oshiomhle is not above the law. He must act within the confines of the law. If he does not do that, then we would revolt. This impunity must stop. Nigeria is a democratic nation and we expect him to function within the pressings of the law. That is our position. We cannot be subverted on intimidated. We stand resolute behind Pastor Usani Uguru Usani. He is the leader of our party. He is the governorship candidate of our party and the man who has built this party.
“Some people have been sent on secondment from the other side to come and hijack this party. We would not allow that. They were part of the destruction of Cross River State for 20 years and now they are coming here to tell us they believe in the change. They are not part of the change. They have no change to offer us. They are here on secondment. We don’t want them. They are not our candidate, we didn’t vote for them. Let them return to where they came from. In APC we work for change and Oshiomhole must work within the confines of that change. If peaceful protest is being resisted, we would rise up. Cross River State belongs to us. Let him respect the law. We need change in the state and the only man who can offer that change is Pastor Usani. He personifies light. Darkness cannot dethrone darkness. Oshiomhole must leave Cross River alone. That is what we are saying and what we stand for.”

2019: Oshiomhole deliberately weakening APC to favour PDP – Aggrieved aspirants
…Calls for National Chairman’s resignation
A coalition of presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have demanded for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The group, which includes governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, state Houses of Assembly aspirants on the platform of the party, also accused Oshiomhole of working for the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), by deliberately weakening the party to make victory easy for the opposition in next year’s general elections.
In a statement signed by two presidential aspirants of the party; Alhaji Mumakai-Unagha and Dr SKC Ogbonnia, the coalition noted that the commotion in all the chapters of the party across the country, starting from the congresses and on to the various levels of primaries, were all deliberately foisted by Oshiomhole to achieve his plot.
They also accused the national chairman of working against the younger generation of Nigerians, preventing youths with political vision and ambition by imposing very exorbitant fees for nomination and expression of interest forms of the party.
They, however, doubted his capacity to lead the party successfully to victory in the 2019 general elections, noting that he does not have what it takes to manage the myriad of crises he had allegedly foisted on the various branches of the party across the country.
While calling on the chairman of the party to resign immediately, the group warned that it would mobilise a massive members’ against him if he refused to heed to the call on him.
“The National Chairman does not have the capacity to lead the party to victory come 2019 following the crisis he has created all over the country as soon as he assumed office, therefore he has lost the confidence of All Progressive Progress members.
“He has not only succeeded in creating factions within the party in almost the whole thirty six states of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory, he has introduced development unknown to democracy.
“He deliberately hiked the prizes of nomination forms to scare genuine Nigerians with burning desire to salvage the nation economy, he’s gradually destroying the party to pave way for the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
“It is obvious that he cannot manage crisis and he will not be able to manage the crisis he created with impurity during the recent primary elections conducted by the party as it was all sham. He imposed party executives as well as candidates in the various constituents against the wishes of the people.
“Adams Oshiomhole conspired to deny Nigerian Youths as well as party members that are desirous of contesting the 2019 general election through the prohibitive hike of the nomination form.
“Today, APC as a party is sharply divided as the recent primary elections were held on factional bases. We are not sure of the party victory come 2019 due to what we may regard or call man made crisis created by the chairman.
“We, the Coalition of APC Presidential aspirants including Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representative and Houses of Assembly aspirants are hereby calling on the National Chairman to resign. Should the National chairman fails to resign, we shall mobilize APC faithful across the country to besiege the party secretariat”, the statement. -
2019: Oshiomhole dares INEC, insists APC will field candidates for elections in Zamfara
The ruling All Progressives Congress has faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration that the party was ineligible to present candidates for the Governorship and National Assembly elections in Zamfara State, on the basis that primary elections were not held.
National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, in a letter to the INEC which he signed in Abuja, on Wednesday, said the electoral management body acted in error by basing its decision to bar the APC from presenting candidates on a false premise.
Oshiomhole said contrary to INEC claims, primaries were held in the state and candidates emerged. The APC insisted that it would present candidates for the 2019 governorship and national assembly elections and it would do so before the expiration of the INEC date for the submission of names of candidates.
Recall that INEC had in a letter written to the APC declared that the APC was ineligible to present candidates for the 2019 elections in Zamfara State.

BREAKING: Protesters besiege APC secretariat, demand Oshiomhole’s resignation
Reports reaching TNG now has it that angry protesters in their numbers on Monday evening stormed the National Headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) calling for the immediate resignation of the party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
The protesters chanted war songs and carried placards to press home their demand for Oshiomhole’s resolution.
TNG gathered that the protest might not be unconnected with the recent conduct of the primaries across the country.
Recall that the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha also condemned the primaries.

Buhari's wife, Aisha condemns conduct of APC primaries, blasts Oshiomhole for encouraging 'impunity'
..vows to dissociate self from party activities
The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, has criticised the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).Mrs Buhari, whose husband Muhammadu Buhari officially emerged the presidential candidate of the APC early Sunday, made her position known on her official Instagram page.
She has been known to openly express her views on the party and the presidency in the past.
Aisha Buhari’s criticism was more general as she did not specify which particular primaries or candidates she was referring to.
The APC has conducted presidential, gubernatorial, and senatorial primaries in the past week across Nigeria.
Read her full criticism below.
It is disheartening to note that some aspirants used their hard earned money to purchase nomination forms, got screened, cleared and campaigned vigorously yet found their names omitted on Election Day, these forms were bought at exorbitant prices.
Many others contested and yet had their result delayed. Fully knowing that AUTOMATIC tickets have been given to other people.
All Progressives Congress being a party whose cardinal principle is change and headed by a comrade/ activist whose main concern is for the common man, yet, such impunity could take place under its watch.
Given this development one will not hesitate than DISSOCIATE from such unfairness, be neutral and speak for the voiceless.
It is important for the populace to rise against impunity and for voters to demand from aspirants to be committed to the provision of basic amenities such as:
1. Potable drinking water2. Basic health care ( Primary Health Care centers)
3. Education within conducive & appropriate learning environments.Let us vote wisely !!!!

Zamafara APC crisis: Oshiomhole in war with deputy as Yari draws battle line
The Deputy National Chairman (North), of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC), Lawal Shuaibu, has faulted the decision of the National Working Committee of the party to dissolve the entire party executive in Zamfara State.
The NWC is led by the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, with Shuaibu among the members.
Recall that the APC in two separate statements signed by its spokesperson, Yekini Nabena, announced the dissolution of the Zamfara State executive and all executive committees across the state.
However, Shuaibu, who is from Zamfara State, issued a counter statement to say “the news going round that the APC Executive have been dissolved is not true.”
Shuaibu said the NWC cannot dissolve the party executives in the state because of the existence a subsisting court order.
He said the order had asked the disagreeing parties in a petition challenging the legality of the process through which the state executives emerged to maintain the status quo and “should not take any step that would render nugatory the subject of the litigation which is the position of the party before 5th of June 2018.”
The deputy chairman said the NWC and the party in the state were both served the court order.
He said the National Headquarters of the party “can therefore not take any action except to ensure members of the executives do comply.”
In his statement earlier, APC spokesperson, Yekini Nabena, also said the NWC-inaugurated committee for Zamfara State is to conduct the governorship and legislative primaries in the state.
He said the state governor, Abdul’aziz Yari, and the dissolved executives in the state “should not interfere in the primary elections in the state.”
He said the governorship and legislative primaries will hold from Saturday to Sunday.

Zamfara APC primaries: Yari attacks Oshiomhole, says 'he's acting like a dictator, mini god'
…calls on supporters to protest party’s cancellation of governorship primaries
Gov. Abdul’aziz of Zamfara, on Friday called out his supporters for a peaceful protest over the decision of the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cancel the party’s governorship primaries held on Wednesday.
“I am calling on all our members to come out and storm the state Police Headquarters tomorrow (Saturday) by 10 am for peaceful protest.
“We will continue with this decision until the national leadership of our party do what is right on this matter,” he said at a press conference in Gusau.
The governor is having running battle with eight governorship aspirants in the state over the conduct of direct primaries.
The governorship primaries held on Wednesday was cancelled by the party’s national secretariat and a fresh one is expected to hold on Saturday.
According to Abu Fari, chairman of the election panel, the cancellation was due to harassment and intimidation of voters and snatching of election materials by thugs sponsored by politicians.
Yari however dismissed the claim by the committee as false and warned its members not to step into Zamfara again.
“Our issue is with the National Secretariat of APC where Adams Oshiomhole continue be a dictator to party members, he acts as a mini god.
“You know, there is ongoing issue regarding the APC governorship primaries in the state, where the national headquarters sent a committee to conduct the election.
“It was very unfortunate that the committee canceled the election on Wednesday.
“We heard that the National Working Committee had dissolved the APC executive in the state and also send the same committee to Zamfara to repeat the exercise.
“I want to call on the national headquarters of the party that we will not accept the decision and we are not satisfied with the committee, we don’t have confidence in that committee.
“I am warning members of that committee that they should never come to Zamfara, they should never put their legs in this state, and anything that happens to them, Adams Oshiomhole should be held responsible.
“We will continue with this decision until the national leadership of the party are ready to do justice,” he stressed.
The governor dismissed insinuations that he had dumped the APC, saying nothing will make him leave the party.
“I remain in APC and I will never leave the party. No amount of pressure will make me to leave the APC.”
The governor added: “I was among the founders of this party, I was in Lagos, Nasarawa states for meetings before we gave birth to the APC, therefore no amount of pressure will make me to leave the party.
“You know, changing political party is not my tradition, therefore I will not change the party and the rumour going round is not true, I am not under any pressure to leave the party.”
Yari’s travails began when he anointed his commissioner of finance as the sole candidate of APC in the state, a decision challenged by eight aspirants including his deputy, Ibrahim Wakala.
The aspirants locally known as the G8, are a former governor of the state Aliyu Shinkafi, a serving Senator, Kabiru Marafa, and Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali.
Others include, Aminu Sani Jaji, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, Alhaji Abu Mahaji and Sagir Hamidu. -
APC expels Zamfara exco 24 hours to National Convention
The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress has expelled the entire Party executives at all levels in Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja, on Friday.
The decision came barely 24 hours to the party’s national convention scheduled to hold in Abuja.
The statement read in part” By this decision, all supposed Party factions in Zamfara State stand dissolved.
“The NWC-inaugurated committee for Zamfara State is to conduct the Governorship and Legislative primaries in the State.
“Hence, the Zamfara State Governor, H.E. Alh. Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari and the dissolved executives in the state should not interfere in the primary elections in the State.
“The Governorship and legislative primaries will hold from Saturday, October 5, 2018 – Sunday, October 6, 2018.”
